Chapter 46: Chapter 46
Third person's POV~
"The house is so dirty." Priscillia says referring to her house as she looks around the room and furnitures which are covered with a white material to prevent dust.
Ella laughs lightly and shakes her head at her.
"You have left this place for years Priscy. Just because you hired people to clean it from time time dosen't mean it would be sparkling bright when you come back."
Priscilla shrugs as she sticks out her tongue at her. "It doesn't matter."
She looks away from Priscilla heaving a sigh and stares at the ceiling.
"I um...I would be inviting a few friends tomorrow so we can all put the house together and have a little fun. Sounds good right?"
Priscillia shrugs, "No problem at all, sounds good."
Ella nods before placing her hands on my shoulder.
"You're looking really beautiful Gabby but um..." Priscilla scans her from head to toe. "You just look way thinner, you were fatter than this. Have you been stressed?"
Ella sighs and shakes her head, "It's been years Priscy, this is my body size you know."
Priscilla narrows her brows, "Gabby, you know you can tell me anything right?"
"Let's just sleep." She says as she stands up from the bed. Priscilla also stands up and just stares at her with a look that shows that she's not going to let her go until she tells her the truth. Ella takes out the thick white material off the bed exposing the white bed sheet which has been spread neatly on the bed.
She sighs and rest my back against the bed while Priscilla sits beside her.
"Come-on, spill it, spill it." Priscilla urges her.
She sighs before sitting up while Priscilla clutches to her arm.
"Well... I just have some issues with William, that's all."
Priscilla frowns at her,"Oh come on Gabby, tell me everything, hmm?"
She sighs before placing her hands on Priscilla's.
"Well, I have been having issues with my marriage for a long time now. William doesn't give me attention and..." She trails off as tears flow out from her eyes and Priscilla runs her hands on her shoulder consoling her. "Even if he doesn't love me, at least, can't he just... can't he just..."
"It's okay Gabby.." Priscilla cuts her off, patting her on the back. " Has he been cheating on you?"
Ella gulps and sniffles, "I have seen him a few times with girls in clubs but I never confronted him but then, there is this one time which looked different."
"What time? And what woman?"
Ella sniffles, "I don't know who she is but he said she's his mother's caretaker and that nothing was going on."
Priscy's eyes grow wide, "His mother's caretaker? What did you see them doing?"
"He was...He was hugging her very tightly and...He kissed her on the forehead. How would I know what more they do behind my back?" She starts crying as her body vibrates in rhythm.
"Don't cry Gabby, you have me here now, it will be fine but are you sure they have anything?"
"The way he looked at her Priscy, he... He has never looked at anyone that way before. I...I just don't know what to do."
"It's okay Gabby, don't cry. We'll fix this, okay? Stop crying."
"I just don't want to do anything that would make him hate me that's why l decided not to dig deep on it or bother the girl but I can't stop thinking about it. What if something..."
"I said not to worry bae, I got you, hmm? I am sure e would oke around." Priscilla continues to stroke her back.
Ella nods and wipes her eyes.
"How has business been?" Priscilla asks her.
"It's been going fine."
"And yessss! George! I have missed that dude. I tried contacting him many times but I don't know if he changed his number or just didn't respond to me. How is he?"
Ella gulps and looks away without saying anything.
Priscilla taps her back, "What's wrong? He's doing good right ?" She asks in a worried voice.
Ella nods slowly before turning to her. "He's doing well Priscy. It's just that, he's changed...a lot. "She sighs.
"Changed? How so? I hope he's still the same sweet guy I know."
Ella smiles lightly. She knows George is of course still a sweet guy. She has never seen anyone as sweet and nice as him. They used to be very close some years ago and he even attended same school with she and Priscillia. And then, one day,George told her he had feelings for her but she didn't take it seriously or she probably didn't to. All she saw him as was a friend that she didn't want to lose.
After she got married to William, George distanced himself from her, so distant that things became awkward all the time they met. She would really want him back as a friend but she knows that's not possible since he likes her while she's in love with William.
Priscillia does not know George had once confessed his feelings to her and so she does not think it will make things any better if she tells her. It's in the past anyway.
"No... He's still a sweet guy. It's just that he um...he has become so buried in his job that um...he has become quite distant." She lies to her. She cannot tell her about how complicated everything is even if it means lying to her.
"Ohhh...I see. Well, I will visit him before l go back."
"When are you going back?"
"Hmm... In a month."
Ella pouts her lips, "You just came back and you will be leaving so soon."
Priscilla smiles as her before pulling her cheeks up. "I will make sure to visit often this time."
She smiles,"I will visit too."
"Let me take a shower." Priscilla says to her as she stands up from the bed. "Don't think about William before I come back, okay?" She points at Ella.
Ella chuckles lightly and nods, "Sure sure sure, I have Heard."
As Priscilla left, she rests her back against the bed and tries her best not to think about anything but that's of course, impossible. She couldn't get him out of her mind. She has been so deeply in love with him for a long time now. When William asked her to marry him, she was so happy and had thought that he felt the same but when she found out it's only because of her father's business shares in the company, she felt shattered. She could have divorced him but she couldn't. Instead, she thought she could make him look at her at least, even if it's only an attraction but each day that passes, it seems he's becoming more distant from her.
She had met William for the first time at George's birthday party some years ago and since then, she has come to love him so much. She cannot allow anything ruin this.

~Kemi's POV~
WEDNESDAY 4PM
"My name is Kemi." I say for the 20th time to Mrs. Patricia. She has been asking for my name and each time I tell her, she keeps forgetting it. I had given her a pen to put it down but she insisted on recalling it off head.
"What is your name? I...I think I will get it this time." She says looking at me so closely with a very serious expression. She looks like a small kid trying to get something she didn't understand and I can't help but chuckle.
She stares at me still waiting for me repeat my name. I smile at her and simply my hand on hers. "I will write it for you and then you can try to memorize it. I'm sure you will get it."
I take the book with the pen and scribe down my name before giving it to her. She collects it from me and stares at it.
"Kemi." She pronounce the name so well that I smile broadly.
"That's it, you pronounced it well, most people doesn't." I stare at her as she looks at the paper with a broad smile on her face. She always forget things because of her illness but I noticed that she never stops talking about Lexis. Why? How come she doesn't recognize her son but always talk about Lexis's name? I wonder what that man must have done to her.
"Mrs. Patricia, wait here. I will be back,I want to do the laundry." I stand up to leave the room but I decided to write it down just in case she might forget. I scribe it down, telling her not to go anywhere before giving the paper to her.
She nods as she collects the paper from me and looks at it. I quickly rush out of the room. Since I'm her caretaker, I get to do her laundry most times, prepare her meals. William has provided me with the lists of what l need to do and should not.
After I'm done with the laundry, I quickly make my way back to the room but I didn't find her on the bed. Panic and worry runs through me as I look around the room wondering where she has gone.
"Mrs. Patricia! Mrs Patricia!" I call out but there's no answer. Where could she have gone? I quickly rush out of the room and freezes when I see William holding on to her in his arms.
"Mom, are you okay?" I hear him ask her as he caress her back. Mrs Patricia's expression is pale and that scares me so I quickly walk over to him.
I smile at him, "I was looking for her, I didn't know she came to meet you." What happens to her, did she fall?
He looks up from his mother and glares at me. I blink as I stare at him wondering why he's upset.
"Where the f**k did you go to?" He asks me between his teeth like he's trying best not to yell at me.
"Um...I went to the laundry."
"Why would you let her walk around like that? What the hell were you thinking?"
I swallow hard as I lick my bottom lip. Why is he yelling at me?
"I didn't know she would leave the room. I had to do some..."
"She would definitely not remember shit even if you told her anything!!" He yells at me causing me to flinch. I gape at him wondering why he's so angry.
"But...She might just want to have some air. I guess that's why she..."
"You shouldn't let her out of your sight, that's the point!"
"Then how am I supposed to do other things? She has to move around as well , so she can get better."
"You don't know shit. I asked you to take of her so you should keep her around you. What if she's hurt, how the f**k would you make up for that?!"
"I'm sorry!" I yell out frustrated. Why is he getting angry at me? It's not like l intentionally left her in the room. "l didn't know she would leave, you don't have to..."I trail off as I swallow hard trying my best not to start crying like a fool because my eyes are already clouded. "I didn't mean to leave her alone."
I look away blinking rapidly before I move closer to him and turn to Mrs. Patricia.
"Mrs Patricia, let's go now."
She turns to me and stares at me for a while before moving away from William's hold and stands beside me.
"Are you okay?" I ask her and she nods.
"Let's go." I say holding her wrist and starts to lead her away but William grabs my wrist and I turn to him. His eyes hold a sorry expression.
"Is there anything else?" I ask him.
He gulps and looks down before looking back to me.
"I'm sorry..." He starts o say. " I didn't mean to yell at you like that. It's just that, if she meets or goes to the wrong place, it might trigger her memory wrongly. I'm really sorry." I stare at him not knowing what he means by triggering her memory but l just nod. I was so happy to see him not knowing he's only come to yell at me.What was I expecting anyway?
I nod and pull my hand away and continues leading Mrs.Patricia back to the room. I could feel him still standing there but I didn't turn back.
"Are you okay?" I ask Mrs Patricia again.
She nods, "I'm fine."
I smile at her before taking her into the room. I understand that he was being protective of his mother but I just feel rather hurt than upset that he yells at me without even listening to me.
*Third Person Pov*
William stands there watching her leave with his mom. He hadn't mean to blame her or anything but when he came into the house, he had met his mom with his father. He knows his father would only trigger her memory causing her pain but Kemi does not know this and he couldn't blame her, she was not told. Most times, when he visited his mother, he would meet her crying while mentioning his father's name and that's when he would know he has met her. Each time she meets his father or Lexis, it's as if her illness gets more serious and he knows it's because they make it worse for her.
Yes, he knows his mother is no saint and she has done lots of bad things in the past but she's still his mother and it breaks his heart to see her in such state. If only she hadn't married his father, maybe she wouldn't lose herself like this.
He sighs and turns around to leave the house.
Reaching home, he goes straight to the swimming pool to relax inside the water.
As he brings his head out of the water, he sees a figure standing above him at the pool side. He wipes the water away from his face to take a closer look at the person.
"Hello, consigliere." George says with a smile on his face as he stares down at William who is looking up at him from the water.
"Hey George." William says with a serious expression before doing a backstroke in the water.
George squirts before the pool and chuckles, "Someone's moody." He grins stretching out his hand to him. "Here."
William swims forward before grabbing George's hand. George pulls him out of the water before a servant runs over to give him a towel. William collects the towel and dries his body before sitting on the lounger. George walks over to him with his hands in his pocket.
"Are you good?" George asks as he sits beside him staring at William's moody expression.
William sighs and nods. "Yeah, I'm alright."
George sighs, "You look like you're battling with something."
"I'm always battling with things, it's nothing new."
George shrugs,"Okay." He drops it.
After a moment of silence, William turns to him. "How do um...How do you make up with someone if you two have a disagreement?"
George looks at him with a puzzled expression.
William sighs, "I mean um... Let's say you...Okay let me put it this way..." He turns in his chair so he can face George. "-Let's say you yell at um...at um...your girlfriend and you feel she might be upset. How would you..."
"How would you apologize?" George asks with an arched brow.
William sighs, "What if you already did that but you still feel she's still upset?"
George blinks at him. He's shocked that William is asking about something like this. The William he knows is not the type to ask about stuffs like this. Never.
'Could it be about Ella?' He wonders in thought.
"Do you..Um... Did you have a fight with your wife?"He asks.
William frowns at him, "Just give me a f**king answer George."
George smiles, "Well...It depends on the girl. How well do you understand her?"
William pauses at the question. How well does he understand Kemi? Can he really say he understands her ?
"You need to understand how she is so you can know how to make up with her.Women are not the same you see."
William moves his eyes from side to side thinking about what George said. He recalls the look on Kemi's face and wonders if it was it an angry look, a sad one, or...
"She might not even be upset. It's possible that she's hurt rather by what you did." George says intruding his thought.
William looks at him before running his hands over his head. That could be it, she might not be upset but hurt. He nods, "Okay, so how do l make up with her if she's hurt?" He asks.
George pauses for a while thinking. "You have to patiently talk to her about the cause of the fight...Tell her you're sorry..."
"I already did that but..."
"Then you show her how sorry you are. Give her a gift, anything. You have to show her your relationship matters more to you than the fight..." And then George pauses before adding on. "Wait, what's the fight about? Was it very serious?"
William shakes his head, "It's not. I kind of um..."
"Lost your temper?" George asks giving him a knowing look. He figures out of everything William is to work on, his temper is one of them.
"Something like that." William shrugs.
George nods, "Okay, just do what I told you... It's not Ella, is it?" He asks in a flat tone.
William looks at him before clears his throat. "That's not your business." Then he grins at him. "Oh wow George, you seem very skilled in relationship advice."
George smiles lightly, "I'm not, okay? I just well...I tend to study um..."
William laughs before standing up. "I get it, I get it. You tend to study relationships. I bet you're in love." He continues to tease him and winks at him.
George only chuckles and walks behind him.
