Chapter 7: Chapter 7
WELL-BEING OR WHEREABOUTS
After another quick but careful consideration, Jason couldn't bear the thought of letting her go! All he needed from Jemmy was a favorable response and the assurance of meeting the young lady over and over again. It didn't matter if he came across as annoyingly persistent.
"Hold on a minute!" He rushed after her. "I do not know my way around this city. Do you mind pointing me in the right direction?"
She paid deaf ears to his words and kept walking. There was something about the way she placed her feet on the ground. Her legs were almost floating in the air. They were effortlessly adorable.
The player could only imagine how her soft curves delicately touched the silky fabric of her trouser. He liked the rhythm with which her hips swerved. He was so drawn to her!
"Are you even human?" he asked from frustration. She still maintained her silence even while they were almost side by side. After another second, Jason caught up with her. "Have you totally written me off because of one or two mistakes I made? That's pretty low, even for you!"
"Firstly, you don't know me. Secondly, there is such a thing as maps on the internet," she finally replied. "If for some bizarre reason you've never heard of that, there is a river down the road. Go jump into it!"
"That's a pretty messed up attitude for someone as lovely as you."
"Oh! It wasn't my intention to be such a disappointment! But I don't remember you being an epitome of proper conduct yourself," she replied sarcastically.
"Really, is my conduct the reason why you are so mad? I have apologized, haven't I?" He smirked.
"Don't flatter yourself!" Jemimah retorted.
Jason took two big steps and stood in front of her. "I don't know what else to say to you. All I want is to…"
"Shut up and get out of my sight! You are beginning to annoy me with whatever it is you are doing." She interrupted his speech.
"What sin have I committed against you that is so unforgivable?" Jason asked. "Or do you just hate me so much?"
"Look here Mr. Loser Pants, I have tolerated your nonsense for so long. If you don't get out of my sight right now, I will…"
"Are you threatening me by any means?" He didn't let her finish talking. "I messed up, but I'm trying to make amends. Can't you just reconsider?"
"I couldn't care less about you. Jump off a cliff and I won't give a damn."
"Do you even know why you are behaving like this?"
"What I know for sure is that I'm not into you enough to bother myself about whether or not I hate you."
The player was really hurt by her statements and rejection. They had gotten to the place she parked her car.
"Can you at least give me a lift to Preston Hotel, please." He watched her start the engine. Then she zoomed off.
Jason took a peek at his watch. After that, he made a call and a luxury automobile came to pick him up within the space of ten minutes. His heart was racing really fast when he got into the vehicle. "How far is the hotel from this place?" he asked the driver.
"It's a seven minutes’ drive or thereabout," the man replied
Meanwhile, Jemimah was overwhelmed with fear. 'How can this possibly be?' Apart from being so arrogant, there was nothing not to like about Jason Sam. But she couldn't bring herself to do that.
She had been seeing him in her sleep. Jemmy was of the opinion that he was a celebrity crush, given that they have never had any direct interaction prior to today. The both of them had created very lustful scenes in her mind. It was purely magical how she felt when they touched. More often than not, it brought her immense pleasure. But there were times when it inspired terror! They occurred no fewer than four times daily.
The young lady used to think that she was gradually losing her mind. Nonetheless, Jemimah kept it a secret. At first, she wasn't sure what to expect when they met in person. But when he mentioned the fact that he had seen her in his dream, she was awestruck! 'Could this possibly be love?' she asked herself. Her car was now in front of a traffic light, so she stopped and waited for the green color.
"It's been over fifteen minutes. Why are we taking too long?"
"Mr. Sam, there is unexpected traffic congestion. So we are moving at a slower pace. It should take another ten minutes," the driver replied.
This was one of the reasons the footballer preferred flying in a helicopter. "Turn on the radio. Perhaps there might be a word or two pertaining to the cause of the congestion." It wasn't long before they got to find out what really happened. People were already gathered.
Sirens blared while two ambulances approached. A drunk driver failed to heed to traffic rules. So it crashed onto a black SUV. When Jason alighted his vehicle to take a proper look at what was going on, he shouted, "No, this can't be!"
It was exactly the same car Jemimah drove minutes ago. He recognized the plate number. Immediately, he took off his jacket and glasses in order to check if the victims were alright but the crowd soon recognized him. And there was almost a stampede. So the driver and some officers helped him return back into his car.
So he didn't have a clue as regards Jemimah's well-being or whereabouts!
