Chapter 80: Chapter 80
Navaeh's breath was laboured as she scrolled down the article reading it. Her head was muddled yet her brain could process the words she was reading.
Her tears had started to choke her threatening to fall off her eyes and roll down her cheeks but she blinked them away and continued reading.
"Everyone knows the queen diva, right? Navaeh Thatcher. The awesomely straight A student. Her first position has never been threatened not once but not for long.
What if I told you, she isn't all she seems? All perfect and all that? What if I told you, it was all a facade? What if I told you her parents neglected her?
Not only her... Her siblings included. She has always had to cater for the needs of her siblings all by herself yet she comes to school like all is well.
Making so many people jealous of her! It's unfair! She's the one with the wrecked home! She's the two faced one.
All of you who call yourselves her friend, have you ever for once been to her house? Met her parents? Have you seen her in a party?
It's all because of this. Who knows, her parents might even abuse her and we won't know for she puts on a facade.
What if the truth is that she used drugs before she started reading and that's why her brain is always hyper and taking in all what she reads?
What if the truth is that she sleeps around with teachers to get good grades? That's disgusting and shameless!
You should distance yourself from her. You don't want to get dirty and stop worshipping her like a goddess... Her truth is out. We've all seen her secret now.
It's best you wise up and see the truth for yourself or rather hear it.
Sigh... People and what they hide behind their facade. Signing off, Anonymous."
She scrolled past the voice note that was right below the post to the comments on the post.
'I can't believe this! She sleeps around with teachers?'
'What the hell? I can't believe I made her my role model!'
'Eww! That disgusting bitch. She even takes drugs?'
'Replying to the comment above. That's so horrible. You can't even think she's capable of doing it.'
'Replying to the comment above. It's not written on forehead, you know?'
'So what if she smokes? She will still be my role model.'
'Replying to the comment above. You're indeed an idiot. Your so called role model is a slut and does drugs and you still call her your role model? What an impeccable fool.'
'Replying to the comment above. So what if she is a slut? It's none of your business. Don't try to form some shitty kind of Standard Oxford Dictionary here, bitch. Impeccable? You know that word yet you've never made it to the top list. Who knows maybe you're the slut that sleeps around not only with teachers and even older men old enough to be your father! Cheap bitch.'
'Replying to the comment above. Really? All this story? You should become a novel writer or better yet a journalist. You're talking trash my phone is shaking it's head at your stupidity.'
'Replying to the comment above. Your phone is shaking it's head? Both you and your phone are dumb. My dog is shaking it's head for you both.' The commenter then attached a sticker of a dog shaking it's head.
'Replying to the comment above. A dog? Fuck you.'
'Replying to the comment above. And moreso, I plan on going for a journalist or better yet a Lawyer. At least I have my future planned... Unlike a social media fool like you. I don't have time to drag words with an idiot such as yourself. You can keep yapping like a mad dog.'
'Replying to the comment above. I'm yapping like a mad dog? Come back here and deal with me if you dare.'
'I'm curious about something though. Who posted this?'
'Replying to the comment above. I'm curious about it as well. I thought everyone liked her.'
'Replying to the comment above. Netizens only believe what they are told. I choose to believe Navaeh. And before anyone replies my comment. Go to hell.'
'Replying to the comment above. I like this dude. I'm believing what Navaeh says.'
'So many people are choosing to believe what Naveah has to say. She has really won over the heart of so much people. I'm going with her as well.'
'Replying to the comment above. Me too!'
In a wooden one storey house in Lake Avenue was a girl with brown hair in her room which was the biggest room in the house sat in front of her pink laptop whose back was filled with stickers of BTS and Black Pink reading the comments on the post that Navaeh was reading.
The pencil that she was holding in her hand in a tight grip snapped into two halves as she gritted her teeth on seeing people still supporting Navaeh.
Didn't they listen to the audio clip?! What the hell is wrong with this fools?! She slammed her laptop shut and threw it unto her bed before screaming her head off in annoyance. She grabbed anything her hand touched and threw it away.
She heaved heavily and looked at her reflection in the mirror. She dressed her hair with her hand and sighed taking deep breath.
"Calm down. Just calm."
Back at Silva High.
The girl that the phone belonged to slowly collected her phone from Navaeh her eyes with sympathy.
Navaeh blinked at that was the one mistake she did. A tear rolled down her face followed by another and before more could come out, she had dashed out of the hallway heading for the door.
"Heaven!"
"Neve!"
"Hold on!"
Ashley, Zaire and Quinnel were right after her as she ran out of the hallway her hand clamped to her mouth to stob a son from escaping.
It was all out. All what she tried to keep was out. Everyone knows. It was out. She collided into someone and before she could feel try to pry her hand out,
"Don't fucking let her go!"
"Hold her, Jake! Don't you dare leave her hand!" Ashley yelled after Quinnel.
Soon, all five of them were standing in front of the school with Navaeh's eyes closed and her hand still on her mouth.
"Heaven?" Quinnel called carefully.
Navaeh shook her head and Ashley sighed pinching her nose bridge. Jake slowly let Navaeh go and she pulled back.
She sniffed in and cleaned her eyes before she pried it open. Her white eyes was now bright red in colour.
"I'm going home." She said simply and tugged at her bag strap leaving the four people standing.
"I can't allow her to go home and mope all day long." Quinnel said suddenly stepping forward.
"Nah. You've done enough Quin. I'll talk to her. I'll tell you guys about it later. She might need someone to vent her anger and frustration at. And trust me, I'm the best for the job."
"Just take down notes for us and attend our classes. I'll call you later." Ashley yelled a s ran after Quinnel before she could make it past the gate.
"Where are you guys going?" The security asked before they could go past the gate.
Navaeh didn't for once stop as she kept walking and Ashley looked at her and sighed.
"She just got a call that her grandma died. She was quite close to the old woman. So she's not in her right sense and she needs to go home." Ashley smoothly lied to the Security man.
"Oh? Is that so? May her soul rest in peace then. You should go, she looks like she would pass out in front of a bus any minute." The security replied tenderly.
"Of course. Thank you. For the prayer and for the permission."
"It's okay."
Ashley nodded again and immediately ran after Navaeh too see the girl walking like a lifeless soul down the pathway.
She sighed again before running to her. She grabbed her hand immediately and Navaeh paused to look at her side.
"Hey, Neve." She greeted and Navaeh sighed before taking her hand from Ashley and continued walking.
"Neve..." Ashley drawled out and Navaeh paused in her step before she turned around.
"I just want to have some me time. So could you please?" She asked and Ashley immediately nodded her head.
Navaeh gave one nod and she turned around walking down the street with Ashley about 5 inches away from her.
They continued walking with no word between them just a few sighs which was from Navaeh.
Ashley phone chimed and pulled it out her eyes roaming to the sign board until she saw a billboard that was advertising a product.
She looked down at her new message to see Zaire's message.
'How is she?'
She looked up at Navaeh and then down before typing a reply.
'Still motionless. We're just walking.'
'God, I so want to snap whoever shared that post into two.'
'So do I. I mean, she looked hesitant to tell us. Not to talk off someone else telling everyone at once under an anonymous account.'
The person that posted the article has actually gone to the extent of opening a new account so as to hide their true identity.
'I know right? Okay, the teacher is coming. I'll chat you later?'
'Sure. Tell Quinnel she'll be fine. I promise.'
'Kay. Love you.'
'Eww... Out of my dm.'
Zaire chuckled at her message and didn't type another one cause he knew what message was coming in next.
'Love you too.'
He smiled at the phone and pressed the power button slipping the phone into his pocket.
He then turned to Quinnel that was already looking at him waiting for a response.
Zaire nodded his head and then shook it and Quinnel sighed.
That meant she wasn't okay and okay.
Unknown to them, two eyes was looking at their gesture and again, a pen was snapped into two making the whole class turn to the back since the class was silent.
"Is everything okay?" The teacher asked the brown haired girl whose eyes darted around the classroom before she nodded.
"Yes, sir." She replied meekly.
Quinnel rolled his eyes and picked his pen up to start jotting down whatever he could jot.
