Chapter 79: Chapter 79

"Hey guys!" I called pushing the door to the house open.

I had planned with Beatrix the day before to drop my sister's off at our house instead of going to her home.

I meant to give them a surprise so I didn't tell them I was coming home even when we talked this morning. So they have no clue and today is Saturday so it's really the best.

"Did you hear that?" I heard from upstairs and I grinned.

"Hear what? You keep hearing things."

"I'm not hearing things! You're the one with the bad ears."

"I don't have a bad ear."

"Yeah sure. I'll believe you when it doesn't snow on Christmas."

"You know that's impossible."

"Exactly. "

I shook my head and pushed the door to their room open. Immediately, before I even step in, they shrieked out loud.

"Help!"

"A burglar!"

"I told you I heard something!"

"Well? This is not the time to argue! And defend your point or whatever it is you're doing! We're about to get burgled or worse, kidnapped!"

I rolled my eyes while shaking my head and threw my duffel bag into their room first. Stepping in after it slowly.

"I'm here to kidnap two cute little girls. Do you guys know them? I can't find them." I teased looking at both their faces.

Both were on a bed in a stance I don't understand if it was meant to be a defensive stance or a cute one.

Aelin was standing with her legs spread out and her left arm pushed to the back and her left hand holding a pencil. Her eyes in slits like a snake.

Aerin was glaring daggers at the door even though they were arguing just now. Her legs were also wide apart just like her sister and her hand was holding a pen and a scissors in her left and right respectively.

I tilted my head at them and they looked to each other before they looked at me.

Their eyes was twinkling wide open and their jaw dropped open.

"Vee!" They yelled jumping me almost immediately. I grabbed them as soon as our body collided twirling them in the air.

Goodness, I missed them! I knelt down before we pulled away from the hug my face decorated with a huge smile and theirs with a broad smile.

"Oh My God!"

"How come you're here?!"

"We missed you!"

"I missed you more!"

"You didn't tell us you were coming!" Aelin yelled slapping my arm.

"Ow! I wanted to give you a surprise!" I replied with a pout and she giggled.

"I know. We were surprised." She replied.

"You knew and you still slapped my arm?" I asked my eyes widening.

"Yep." She replied with a nod and my jaw dropped.

"I mean... Hey!" I yelled and she stuck her tongue out at me.

I scoffed and stood on my feet. Aelin looked at me with her nose high.

"Excuse me young lady, I'm your elder sister." I said placing my hand on my hips.

"So?" She asked haughtily and I scoffed again in disbelief.

"Come here." I mumbled gesturing with my index finger at her.

"I won't!" She replied sticking her tongue out at me.

"Get over here." I yelled and she giggled before going the opposite direction.

Feeling like Aerin would be left out I turned to her as well,

"And you..." I started pointing my finger at her.

"Me? What did I do? I didn't do anything." She said standing from the bed that she had sat on.

"Exactly. You did nothing and watched your sister abuse me. You didn't do anything to even correct her! You just watched like we're filming a drama."

"What was I supposed to do?" She asked with a giggle and I placed my hand on my hips again.

"I don't even want to know anymore. I'll catch you right now and beat the daylights out of you. Both of you. Get over here." I said gesturing at her as well.

"No!" She yelled her voice choked up in her feat to not laugh.

"Yes!" I yelled running after them down the stairs.

I could easily catch up with them but I intentionally let them run their best while I jogged my worst at a very slow pace.

We ran while I jogged after them for a while before Aelin stopped heaving heavily.

"I'm not... No.... I'm... God, I need water."

I turned to Aerin that had sat on the chair some minutes ago. Aelin had joined her and had already caught her breath. God, this girls need to do some exercise! They're way too lazy.

"Get your lazy asses off the chair." I called and they looked at me and then themselves before me again.

"I'm sorry, did I stutter?"

Immediately both shook their heads in negativity and jumped off the chair simultaneously.

"Good." I mumbled.

We were all staring at each other now and I don't even know why I asked them to stand.

We couldn't go on a run now... It was in the afternoon. I scratched the back of my head in confusion.

"So... Why are we standing?" Aelin asked bravely and I sighed.

"I was about to say we should go for a run. To keep you fit and most importantly burn some fat. But we're in the afternoon... Unfortunately."

Immediately, just like I had thought they would, a scowl pulled on their lips and they looked at themselves before looking down at their own body.

Then they looked up at me with the scowl deeper than ever still on their faces. I shrugged at them.

"Are you trying to say I'm fat?" Aelin asked lowly.

I blinked at them. Aerin was still sporting the scowl on her face with her eyes looking like she was about to pounce on me.

"Now that you know that, could we move on?"

"Take that back right now." Aerin retorted and I stuck my tongue at them.

"Make me."

Immediately, and within warning they both jumped me and before I could even think of what was happening, I was on the floor under two angry little children.

"I'll bite your chubby cheeks!" Someone yelled near my right ear and before I could register what was going on, my right cheek had been bitten.

"Ahhh!" I yelled shaking my mouth and head to get the mouth off my cheek.

Once I saw the person was following my head, teeth still biting my cheek, I blurted out my last card.

"Continue biting me, and I will not give you what I brought from New York!"

Immediately, the biting paused but the teeth was still on it.

"You got us something?" Aerin asked and I knew it was Aelin biting me. That little she devil!

"Of course! But you won't get it if you don't get off me. Now."

I sighed when my cheek was released and sat up straight. Glaring at the two girls, I pushed myself up to sit on the sofa.

"So what did you get for us?" Aelin asked immediately I seemed kind of comfortable.

Excuse me?!

"Nothing. I got nothing for you. You girls are so... Ugh. Why did you bite me so hard?" I questioned touching my cheek.

"Nothing?" Aerin echoed and I rolled my eyes.

"I get home, instead of a warm embrace and pampering the whole day, what do you guys do? Attack me and bite my cheeks!"

"I get the warm embrace part. But, Pampering? Really?" Aelin asked and I turned my head to her to glare.

"Right. Sorry. Sorry." She apologized sitting on the floor with her leg crossed.

I didn't reply and simply turned my head away my eyes landing on our parents wedding picture hanging in the living room followed by awards after awards and finally the small space between the kitchen and living room where a shelf filled to the brim with trophies stood.

I sighed and shook my head. What's the whole excess?

"They are the best aren't they?" Aelin asked and I turned my head to her to see her eyes on the shelf as well.

"Yeah. They are." I replied with a nod my eyes drifting back to the shelf.

But, beside it was another shelf that had a few trophies on it. It wasn't my parents. It was mine and the twin's. My eyes roamed it all remembering the occasions for it and how our parents still weren't present. Swimming, tennis, competition, spelling bees, gymnastics, clubs, so why the hell were they tired over that little distance?!

Mine was mostly for education. I didn't join any extra curricular activities so I didn't have those trophies of the gymnastics and all that. I had medals as well. Gold medals.

My eyes roamed the twins trophies again before I paused on a gold colored medal.

"Hey, is that a new trophy?" I asked pointing at the trophy that had a splitting girl on it.

"Which one?" Aerin asked getting up to stand beside the shelf so as to point at it and ask for confirmation.

"The gold one." I replied foolishly.

There were many gold colored trophy but I stupidly and vaguely said The Gold one.

"Your answer is so vague, Vee." Aelin commented slapping her forehead.

"I mean... There are many gold colored trophy here!" Aerin supported and I sighed.

"The one beside the the medal you got last month." I corrected and she looked at the shelf.

"Nope. Not a new one." Aerin replied without even looking at it.

"You didn't even look at it." I argued

"Exactly. There is no new one. Our next spelling bee competition is in the next two months!" Aelin replied and I frowned.

"Jeez, what the hell is wrong with me?" I questioned no one in particular.

"Don't worry. You're not going crazy."

"At least not yet." Aelin added and I glared at her.

"Where is our gifffttt?!!" She whined once my eyes was on her. Glaring or not.

"That's all you care about!" I replied with a roll of my eyes and she grinned.

"You know me too well, amor." She said with a wink and I shook my head.

"Aerin, get my back please?"

"As long as I'm getting that gift... Definitely." She replied running up the stairs.

Both are obsessed with gifts.

Soon, it was Monday. School. Again. Ughhh!

I tugged at my bag strap ignoring the looks I was thrown though it looked different today. It was more like they were... Gossiping about me.

About what? I have no idea.

I shrugged and pushed the door to the hallway open and immediately I stepped in, everyone paused what they were doing and looked at me.

I blinked at them and they pretended to be taking something from their lockers. I swear, these people are weird.

I had almost made it to my locker when I was dragged by someone. I was about to yank the hand away when I saw the face.

"Oh hey, Ash. What's up with everyone?"

"Why did you come to school?" She asked and I raised a brow at her baffled.

"Why won't I come to school? It's a school day isn't it?" I asked with a nervous chuckle.

Everyone's eyes was on us now and I don't even know why it was! By this time, people would have removed their eyes from my face but today it seemed my face was magnetizing their eyes. More than normal.

"Babe, did you see the school platform? Like at all?" She asked and I shook my head.

"I didn't. The twins were rushing this morning so I had no time. They have a test. Anyways, that's not the point. Should I have checked the platform?"

"Come on." She said pulling my hand from the hallway.

"No, wait... Why is everyone staring at me? And why should I have checked the platform? You know what? I'm going to check it now."

"No. Don't..."

I didn't reply her as I pulled my phone from my bag and pressed on Instagram. Before I could read the first post on my news feed, my phone had been snatched from me.

"Hey! What the hell?" I yelled looking up at my phone snatcher.

"Don't check it here. Please." Quinnel begged and Zaire was standing beside him looking solemn like a lost child and I was more confused.

What dud they not want me to see? Now, I have to see it.

I didn't say anything as I went ahead and grabbed the phone of a girl whose screen was lit up.

And that was when I saw it. The Post.

My heart dropped to my stomach as I read the big headline that was mocking me.

"SILVA HIGH "PERFECT" STUDENT TRUE STORY BEHIND HER HOME."

A/N: Well... I guess no one was expecting that. I wasn't either. I sincerely wonder who the loose mouth is. And has anyone seen Jake? I'm looking for him
