Chapter 77: Chapter 77
With an angry sigh, I walked up to them like a jealous girlfriend. God, I feel like a jealous girlfriend!
"Hey, Nell."
Did you seriously have to use that nickname? Ugh! I'm mentally face palming myself right now.
"Hey, Heaven." He greeted with a smug smile that I knew too well. He was going to tease me about it later on.
Stupid hunk!
I turned my eyes away to the girl that still had a smile on her face.
"You must be Heaven. I'm Rose." She said suddenly stretching her hand to me.
Though feeling awkward, I accepted her hand with my eyes on Quinnel demanding an explanation.
He shrugged in return and I rolled my eyes at him. Never helpful!
"Guess I don't need to introduce myself anymore. I'm Heaven."
Is that even my name? It's Quinnel that calls me that!
"Nice name."
"Could say the same about yours as well." I replied with a tight smile.
"Well, I guess I'll get going then. See you guys." She greeted waving at us.
"Never." I muttered once she was gone out if earshot.
Quinnel seemed to have heard as he shook his head at me. I rolled my eyes and ignored him as I pushed the door to the Snow Globe store open a bell ringing immediately alerting the attendant as she immediately stood up.
"Nell?" He asked teasingly and I smiled at the attendant.
I took a turn walking to the aisle of the Snow Globes with the help of the drop down banners that had the name of each aisle on them.
"Nell?" He asked again and I still ignored him.
"Heaven?" He called and I sighed.
"What?" I asked turning to him with a glare.
"Woah! Your eyes could kill." He mumbled and I rolled my eyes looking away from him.
"Nell?"
"Say that one more time and I'll jab this Snow Globe in your nose." I mumbled my hand going over the snow globes.
"Aww... You're looking so cute while angry." He mumbled pulling my cheeks.
I paused and turned my head to glare at him. He stuck his tongue out and I rolled my eyes again.
"So where did you go then? I didn't see you in here when I arrived." He said and I froze.
"I went sight seeing." I replied with a shrug.
"Then what's that bag?" He asked again.
"I asked you to wait for me as well. Where did you meet Rose?" I retorted intentionally making my voice thin when I said her name.
"Rose?" He repeated and I rolled my eyes. Really? A guy that passes really well in his exams has difficulty remembering what happened albeit 10 minutes ago?
"Oh!" He snapped suddenly and I sighed. There we go.
"I was waiting for you." He started or he finished. I really didn't know cause he said nothing more.
"And I'm Rose?" I asked under my breath but his chuckle followed after.
"No. I was waiting for you when she came out of the store complaining about the bag or so. Then her head hit my back cause she was actually looking down. And we chatted a little bit."
"Huh. I guess I can go and collide into someone and automatically, we're smiling at each other." I said my eyes landing on a snow globe that had the Statue of Liberty in it.
I smiled and picked it up regretting not taking a basket now. I continued to look around almost forgetting that I was in the middle of an argument. Almost.
"We weren't smiling." He replied and I nodded my head.
"Right. Sorry, I must have forgotten my glasses in the room while in a hurry to get prepared this morning."
"You don't even use a pair of glasses." He replied and I nodded my head.
"Yes, I do."
"No, you don't."
"Just cause you haven't seen me use it doesn't mean I don't use it!" I replied frustrated.
This is about me! Why is he arguing with me about me?!
"You don't use a glasses, you're just teasing me."
"Sure." I refused to argue any longer.
"Anyways, we weren't smiling. She was talking about her kids."
"Like you're the father." I replied taking another snow globe without even looking at it twice.
They're all so fine I don't know which to choose!
"I'm not the father. Ew." He replied and I turned to him before I focused on something else.
"Wait, she has kids?!" I asked my voice high a little bit. Thankfully no one was on our row so no weird eyes turned to me.
"Yes. And tone your voice down, attention drawer. I know it's shocking! That was the expression I also gave when she said it." He replied whispering and my eyes widened.
"She has kids. Wow." I repeated before I grabbed another snow globe and walked to the counter with Quinnel right behind me.
"So what else did you go and buy?"
"I thought I already told you. I simply went sight seeing."
"Oh? Does sight seeing gift you then?" He asked his chin nudging at the plastic bag in my hand.
I squinted my eyes at him before my eyes looked down at the nylon that looked too big for a set of jewelry.
"And what did you get? That's not jewelries."
His eyes looked down at the bag like he didn't know it was still there before he shrugged.
"It's for Caspian. I got something for him as well."
"You did? What did you get?"
"What did you get for your sisters?" He asked and I blinked at him.
"Oh, I see what you're doing." I nodded my head shaking my index finger.
He shrugged again and I pursed my lips before turning to the salesgirl who had finished bagging the snow globes.
"How much for all three?"
"10 dollars."
I fished out 10 dollars in my purse and paid for it. I collected the bag and turned around to Quinnel to find the space where he was standing empty.
I stared at the space for a few seconds before I sighed and walked out of the store. Why get angry? You didn't tell me what you got as well!
I shook my head and decided to call Ashley to find out where she was so I could go and meet up with her.
"Zaire said they are at the Times Square." I heard beside just as I was about to dial her number.
I blinked and turned to Quinnel who was already looking at me. I looked at the phone in his hand before I looked at his confused face again.
"You went to call Zaire?" I asked and he eyed me before nodding slowly.
"Oh. Great. Let's go to the Times Square then." I said without any suspicion as I turned around to walk away internally scolding myself.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Did he say he was leaving? Stop jumping to conclusions like a cheetah!
"You thought I had left didn't you?" He asked suddenly and I pretended not to hear as I gasped.
"Quin, look at that!" I yelled pointing at the Mickey Mouse that was standing on a roof of a shop.
"What exactly is special about a Mickey Mouse statue?" He asked and I brought my hand down awkwardly.
"It... It seems fine." I replied with a shrug.
"Really?" He asked and by his tone I knew he didn't believe me. Well, I don't blame him... I don't believe myself too.
"Oh! It's really you guys!" We heard before I could cook up a lie in my head.
