Chapter 52: Chapter 52
One eyes was filled with anger and malice while the other was filled with a tinge of jealousy but mostly regret.
"You guys are matching", Quinnel said pointing at Zaire and Ashley who looked at each other like they didn't know they were matching or didn't leave the same house. Then they turned to Quinnel and grinned at him.
Navaeh chuckled and took a sip of her warm coffee.
"You got coffee?", She asked before she could even bring the Starbucks cup down from her mouth.
"Uhh, yeah. Quin got it for me", Navaeh drawled out and both Ashley and Zaire eyes turned to Quinnel who sipped away looking elsewhere like he didn't know two expectant eyes were waiting for him.
Ashley then stepped back and looked at them grinning. She pulled out her phone and took a shot before the two of them knew what was happening.
She liked they way they were both standing and holding a Starbucks coffee. They looked like a couple that she knew they would be. Quinnel still had coffee in his mouth as he held the cup close his lips while Navaeh played with the black cover of the Starbucks coffee with a smile on her face.
"Hey!" She yelled once she realized what her friend just did.
"Don't yell at my sister", Zaire said a possessive tone that Navaeh didn't know he possessed.
"Oh I'm sorry little brother... But this girl is mine today!" She said and proceeded to take Ashley.
"I'm not little brother", he said to her and she rolled her eyes at him before she stuck out her tongue.
"Right. Come on, Zaire... Let's go and drop my key off with the Security", Quinnel stepped in and pulled Zaire away and soon Ashely was exposed to Navaeh.
Navaeh rubbed her hand together having out her coffee cup in between her legs before she took it and grinned at Ashley.
"Let me look at your phone while I'm being nice", She said stalking towards Ashley who took one step back with each step that she took. They had dumped their bags where they were standing before.
"Then you'd have to catch me first", Ashley said with a grin and she turned around running into the school.
"Hey!", Navaeh yelled after her as she also picked up the race all while careful so she didn't spill her coffee.
Quinnel handed the key to the Security before he filled out the file given to him such as information in the color of the car, the model, the plate number, the time the car was driven into the school and the time the key was handed over to the security.
When he had filled it out, he handed it over to the security who gave him a nod and took his picture before he allowed them to go.
Quinnel grabbed his coffee off the Security counter and walked back to where they had left the two girls when Zaire decided to strike up a Convo.
"So... You and Navaeh?", He asked and Quinnel stopped to tilt his head at him. He blinked before he shook his head slowly and continued walking.
"Oh, why not? She doesn't like you back?", Zaire asked and Quinnel didn't reply him.
"Hey, talk to me", Zaire said and stopped making Quinnel stop as well as he shuffled on his feet.
"Stop shuffling. You know that thing disturbs me", Zaire said and Quinnel stopped.
"Alright, talk", Zaire said pulling Quinnel to a nearby chair. He checked if it was neat before he sat on it.
"Have a seat." He said gesturing at the chair beside him.
Quinnel sighed and sat down beside him. He looked up ahead before taking another sip of his coffee.
"So have you finally figured out your feelings? Ready to accept to still like her?" Zaire asked and Quinnel let out a huff before he nodded his head.
"See? I told you!" Zaire said with a chuckle and Quinnel shook his head before he smiled.
"So, when are you guys going to date?" He asked and Quinnel turned his neck with the speed of light.
"Dating? Calm the fuck down... I don't even know if she even likes me." Quinnel replied taking a other long sip of the coffee.
"I'm sorry what?" Zaire asked in confusion but his best friend didn't turn his head to him neither did he even make the move to.
"Uh, duh... She obviously likes you. I mean even Jake can see that!"
Quinnel rolled his eyes. Then why did she jump away from him when he tried to help her take her shorts from her closet?
Then why didn't she break contact when you guys were staring at each other? His mind taunted and he blinked in confusion.
"I don't know man. Let's just... Let's go to the others." Quinnel said and stood up.
"Alright then. Perhaps one day, you'll finally see you liked you all along." Zaire replied standing up with a shrug.
The two best friends walked to the place where they left the girls to see only their bags on the floor.
Quinnel grabbed his and Navaeh's and Zaire grabbed his own and his sister.
"Where do you think they went to?" Zaire asked looking around his eyes subconsciously meeting with someone he didn't know would be here.
"Dude, is that... Connie or I'm seeing things?" Zaire asked pointing at the girl who was leaning on a tree with earphone plugged in her ear staring into nothingness.
Quinnel followed his hand and line of sight and true enough, it was Connie. She was dressed in an off shoulder red gown top with black leggings underneath it. She wore a boot to match and her hair was left to pour over her back.
Zaire was about to march towards her when they heard the giggling of two girls they knew. They were coming from the school.
"Shut up." Navaeh said giving her friend a light shove.
"I'm not joking. He does! What should I do for you to actually believe me?" Ashley asked and Navaeh shook her head not wanting to answer her again.
Ashley saw her friend wasn't going to reply and so she sighed before she shook her head.
"Oh, there is Quinn and Zaire. They're back."
"Come on." Navaeh said even though they weren't standing idle.
Keeping his anger at bay, Zaire dug his nails into his palm and before his sister and Navaeh could reach them, he had walked to Ashley pulling her back into the school.
Navaeh rose a brow at the guy that was practically pulling her away while Ashley looked back at Quinnel as if to ask him what had happened.
"What happened?" Navaeh asked Quinnel who looked to her and then to Connie.
Navaeh turned around and her eyes widened upon seeing the girl.
