Chapter 33: Chapter 33

"Uhh, yes you are. Anytime you have a break and you want some quiet time to yourself, you'll see this is the best solace yet." She replied and I rolled my eye snorting.

"That's so unladylike." She said and I rolled my eyes again.

"So..."

"So..."

"How are you?" She asked and I turned my head to her raising a brow.

"Yesterday... You fainted and stuff. How are you feeling today?"

"Oh right. Yeah, I'm... I'm great." I replied ignoring the pricking sensation in my stomach.

I wasn't having it before but I think going up that much flight of stairs really did shit.

"Yeah?" She asked and I nodded.

"You and Zaire patched up?" I asked and she nodded her head slowly.

"Yeah. Thanks. You and Quinnel."

"Nah. What are friends for?" I asked and she grinned.

Friends.

"Now let's go to the basketball court. They should be practicing right now." She said and I nodded sighing.

She stood up and I followed pulling at my bag strap as we descended down the stairs.

"Descending is in every way easier than ascending!" I let out with a frustrated sigh.

Ashley only let out a light chuckle and continued walking.

I hadn't set my eyes on Connie since I stepped foot into this school. Ashley didn't look like she cared anyways.

Maybe the girl didn't come to school or something. I should call her. She is still my friend even after their fight.

She after all, helped me yesterday when I was sick. I can't throw her away all because she had a fight with Ashley. A fight I knew nothing about.

"The court is right around the corner. I'll meet you there, got to go to the Convenience room."

"Umm, okay." I replied awkwardly and away she went. I sighed and tugged at my bag strap again before I went to the court. Pushing the door open, it was like I was outside but I was inside.

This place is blindingly bright. I squeezed and squinted my eyes before my eyes finally adjusted to the light.

I stepped into the room further and spotted some chairs. I made my way to the chairs and sat on it before focusing on the scene in front of me.

"Hey, Heaven! Duck!" I heard and I immediately did as I was told before a ball came slamming into my nose and bam! Another faint in two days.

I heard a thump beside me and I pried the eyes I didn't even know I had squeezed shut to see a Spalding Orange Basketball ball bouncing beside me.

Okay, one second after sitting here and I'm almost hit in the face by a very hard ball?!

Dude!!!

I looked back up pushing the strands of hair that had fallen on the side of my face to the back of my ears.

"What are you doing here anyways?" I heard beside me and I turned my head to it almost immediately.

Replaced by the orange ball was a red faced basketball player that I knew.

"I just have no idea what I'm even doing here." I said pushing the left side hair away.

Quinnel chuckled and I rolled my eyes at him. Of course he found it funny.

"Do you like basketball?" He asked and I looked back at him in utter disbelief.

"What?"

"What sort of question is that? Of course, I like basketball. It's like my best ball game ever." I replied.

"I just haven't... Had a shot at it?" I spoke in a small voice but he heard.

"Do you want to learn it?" He asked and I looked at him again in disbelief.

"What? I can teach you." He said again and I blinked at him.

"For reals?"

"For reals." He replied with a chuckle.

"How nice! Yes please." I said almost immediately.

"Great. Practice during weekends? Okay with you?"

"Yup." I said and he grinned.

"Great."

"Great."

"You're going to the trip right?" He asked and I shook my head negative.

What's the point of lying? I wasn't going.

"Wait, why not?" He asked repositioning himself.

"Uhh, the twins?" I asked him looking at him with a look I knew was saying, "Dude, really?"

"What about them?" He asked and I swear I almost smacked his head.

"No one is going to take care of them if I go on the school trip." I explained nonetheless.

"Yes there is."

"Oh really? You'd clone me and make me stay with them?" I asked and he chuckled rolling his eyes.

"No, my Mum can take care of them while we are on the trip." He said and I shook my head slowly.

"Nope. Your Mum has done enough for me and the twins. It would be like too much to ask for from her."

"Uh, I'm sure she won't mind."

"My answer is still no, Quinn. Thanks for the offer but I'll rather sit at home and binge watch movies for the duration of the trip till you guys return."

"Binge watch movies? Yeah, not on my watch. You're going to that trip and that's final." He said and I turned to him with a tilt of my head.

He tilted his head as well and I rolled my eyes but I didn't return my head to it's original position.

As I opened my mouth to talk, a voice bellowed out suddenly.

"Ashford! Get your ass over here!"
