Chapter 32: Chapter 32

I sat up straight and took whatever notes I could. Once I heard the bell, I pushed– poured– my notes into my bag and slung the bag over my shoulder standing up.

"Before you go." The teacher, Mr Bills said again and I almost groaned at him before I dropped on my butt again.

"A trip for the final year students has been organized. And it's in Two Weeks time. The location will be unknown to you as it is meant to be a surprise to you guys. So, if you're interested..."

I cut him off with a roll of my eyes.

Trips. School Trips. Field Trips. Friendly Trips. Any trips of that sort, I never went to any of them.

Well, except the ones where you fall flat on your face due to a "trip" of your foot. That one, I've done.

There was never any use for me to go. No one was there to take care of the twins. So, I never went on the trips at all.

"I hope we go to Paris." Quinnel said making me blink at him before I let out a light laugh.

"or maybe– if Paris is too costly... London! Or New York! Oh, there is so much places we can go." He continued.

"Haven't you gone on one of this trips before?" I asked standing up.

"I have. Just it wasn't fun I guess. We were still in the country. So this time, I wish we leave the country!" He replied and I nodded my head walking out of the class with him beside me.

"Dude! Did you hear? We're going on another trip!" Zaire yelled from behind us and I laughed at them.

They seemed so happy. What's so special about Trips?

"I know. We heard. We're in the same class as you are, you know?" Quinnel replied dryly.

"I wasn't talking to you." Zaire replied and faced me with a grin.

"We're going on a trip!" He said and I raised a brow at him.

"Where do you think we might travel to this time around?" Ashley asked joining us.

"I don't know. Maybe London?" Zaire replied and I looked at him. Then at Ashley and then Quinnel who was already waiting for my eyes to meet his.

I grinned at him and he smiled in return.

"Why are you both grinning like Joker?" Zaire said poking my cheek and Quinnel's.

"Stop that." Quinnel said swatting his hand away.

"Ow! Look at that. He's so wicked to me." Zaire said with a pout and I shook my head at him.

"What class is next?" Ashley asked me.

"I'm free." I replied and her brows shot up.

"I'm free as well!" She said and smiled.

"Ooh! Girls time!"

"Bye guys!"

Then like a flash, I was being pulled towards the door. The door pushed open just when the bell rung and I shielded my eyes from the sun.

"Hold on. Where are we going?" I asked Ashley pulling her to a halt.

"Uhh, the field?" She asked and I frowned at her.

"I've never gone to the field before." I said and her jaw dropped to the ground.

"I think your jaw is on the floor." I said sarcastically and she shook her head.

"I'm sorry, you've never been to the field? She asked and I nodded my head slowly.

"Hold on... Let me think. Let me process that." She said and held both sides of her head.

"You've never been to the field... Hold on, you've never... No, right?"

"Never...?"

"Don't tell me you never been to one game. Just one single game?" She asked raising her index up and I laughed shaking my head.

"Oh my God! Help!" She yelled out suddenly running away and I rolled my eyes at her.

Ever Dramatic Ashley.

I ran after her and only caught up with her when she stopped in a place I wasn't too well familiar with. Hold on, are we still in school? Looks like it though.

"Here." She said turning around and I raised a brow at her.

"Here?" I asked.

"Yes, here. This is the school field." She said and I blinked looking around us.

The land was about 5 acres large which made my eyes widen. There were about a thousand chairs surrounding the big green field and they were blue in colour. I looked down at our uniform which had the same shade of blue of the chair–light blue floppy bow tie.

"Hold on, what of the basketball court?" I asked and she nodded her head towards the field.

"Here. We don't have a soccer team neither so we have a football team so this field is mainly for Basketball. The hoops and stuffs are brought in when the game is about to go on." She explained and I nodded my head.

"So we don't have a football team? I wonder why." I said walking towards the bleachers.

"Who are you? Are you really the most famous girl in school?" Ashley asked deadpanned.

"Well, my name is Navaeh Thatcher." I replied with a shrug and took a seat on the chairs.

The chairs were shrouded with blue canopies so as much as the rain would love to fall or the sun would love to smile very brightly down on us, it won't reach the bleachers. Just the field and whoever was on the field.

"Are they not supposed to like, cover the field too?" I asked looking to my side to find it empty.

"Over here!" Ashley called and I looked up to see her very very high up the aisle. I immediately scrambled to my feet and after her I went.

She stopped only when she was on the second to the last ascending row of chairs before she planted her butt down leaving a space for me beside the aisle.

I finally got there as I took a seat beside her and looked over the field.

"The view up here is the best." She said and I looked to her before looking down at the field.

The sidelines looked so tiny but I knew if it was going to be a great look if it was in the night. The light stand that was located at conspicuous places was standing proud and talk even though they were not lit.

"But I thought this field isn't suitable for games like basketball. The ones I use to see on TV were usually kind of smooth, yellow and looking all so clean you could eat sushi off it. The basketball players shoes go all squeaky squeaky on it. This, that I'm looking at is definitely not it. " I said and looked at her.

"I was thinking you bought that for a moment there. Yeah, this is not the court for basketball. The one for it is inside the school. Wanna see it?" She asked and I nodded my head gleefully.

"Sure, maybe after we rest for some minutes. That climbing took a huge toll on me and my legs." I said and she rolled her eyes.

"Get used to it."

"Used? I'm not coming here again."
