Lord of The Mysterious Realms Chapter 1224

The cat perched on the coffee table let out a piercing yowl. It had returned with the ice palace and had been waiting for Jenkins for a very long time. For more chapters visıt NovєlFіre.net

"Are you alright? I was in Ruen last night and saw the disturbance in the sky."

The petite woman asked with concern.

"I imagine that palace was visible to the entire material world."

Jenkins took Alexia's hand and guided her to the sofa. Seeing the cat standing angrily beside the miniature palace, he scooped it up and settled it onto his lap.

"Does this mean it's over?"

"It's over. The matter is, for the most part, concluded. To be honest, I never expected it to end ."

He let out a long sigh before briefly recounting the events of his journey. He abridged his conversation with the ice-sculpture priest and described the final process of his deification in the third person, confident that Alexia would understand everything.

She deliberately used the title to tease him.

"Yes, saved the world again... I hope the next time comes much later. I really only intended to take a vacation in Ruen, and now look what's happened. I don't even know when I'll be able to return to Nolan."

The end of the disaster was certainly a good thing, but not for the Church, which had now entered a state of emergency. Everything had to be rearranged. It wouldn't descend into chaos, but any discussion about Jenkins's return to Nolan would surely have to wait.

"What's the current situation here in Ruen?"

"They're still clearing the rubble from the two streets surrounding Parliament Square. All of Lack Stuart's supporters and followers are being purged. They found the two steam cannons as well, on the third floor of the Harms Gentlemen's Club, two streets away and directly opposite the main entrance to the Parliament building. Funnily enough, that club was originally the private property of Stipe Stuart. Lack Stuart only got his hands on it after Stipe disappeared."

Stipe was the prince who had "been disappeared" during last winter's hunt. He was still alive, but Jenkins hadn't heard any news of him from Dolores in a long time.

"And what about King Salsi II's health?"

"It's not terrible, but it has taken a heavy toll on him. The gunshot to his abdomen didn't affect the fatal condition in his head, but after this dual blow to both his mind and body... I think the original estimate that he might live until the end of the year was quite optimistic."

Jenkins had only seen Salsi II once, in the chamber beneath the Parliament building. But a single glance was enough for him to confirm that the problem in Dolores's father's head was not the result of any external force; it was truly a natural ailment, something akin to a brain tumor.

In other words, since the disease wasn't caused by an external force, it couldn't be cured by eliminating one. It was almost certain that King Salsi II would pass away this year. In the remaining eight months, Ruen might just witness some "even more exciting" events.

"The situation is very delicate. As you know, Dolores's eldest brother, Sarrot Stuart, lost an arm, and the kingdom has no precedent for a disabled man to be king. Besides Sarrot, the most promising contender was the second prince, Lack Stuart, but he's dead now. So Sarrot's greatest rival for the throne has become the eldest princess.

But as I've said before, the Hamparvo Kingdom is not the Fidektri Kingdom. This country has only been ruled by a queen once in its history. Neither the nobility nor the common people want their new monarch to be a woman."

Alexia summarized, the light from the crystal chandelier overhead illuminating her face, making her look even more beautiful.

"So none of Dolores's rivals have a distinct advantage right now?"

Jenkins mused as he stroked the cat.

"That's right, at least on the surface. So, have you decided to throw your full support behind Dolores's bid for the throne?"

She asked, reaching for an orange on the coffee table.

"If she wants to be queen, I'm willing to support her. It's a difficult path. To become a monarch is to bear an immense responsibility. I had hoped Dolores could live a life free of such burdens... but of course, I'm not in a position to decide another person's life for them."

"Only you would see taking up a crown as a burden."

Alexia chuckled. With the orange in her right hand, she tapped the peel lightly with her left. An invisible whirlwind seemed to turn the peel to dust, inch by inch. In less than ten seconds, the sweet fragrance of orange filled the air, and she held the perfectly peeled fruit in her hand.

Chocolate's eyes lit up, utterly captivated by this "noble" method of peeling.

"You didn't seem very enthusiastic about Dolores vying for the throne before. What changed your mind?"

"The world needs stability, especially at a time . Stable human governments are of monumental importance to the material world. I don't have the ability to predict what the next disaster will be, so I can only do my best to prepare."

"I will support you."

She said softly, offering the whole orange to Chocolate. The cat gave her a quizzical look, then extended a paw and nudged the round fruit onto Jenkins's lap.

He was just about to warn the cat not to get juice on his trousers when Alexia suddenly reached out and took both of his hands.

The petite woman was now very close to him. So close, in fact, that Jenkins could see the reflection of the chandelier's candlelight dancing in her beautiful, crystal-clear eyes.

"I want to talk to you about something else, Jenkins. Where were you the night before you came to Ruen?"

He didn't understand the question at first, but after a moment's thought, all his actions from that night flooded his memory. Even without a mirror, he knew his face was burning red. His usually quick mind had come to a complete standstill, unable to help him formulate a reply.

"I knew this day would come..."

In truth, Alexia's information had come from the other Williamette on the train, a fact she would never reveal to Jenkins. If last time Jenkins had explained it away as a dream, then this time, he had truly been with another woman... and even though she had prepared herself, she couldn't easily accept it.

"Jenkins, let me guess who was so fortunate. Hathaway Hersha?"

"I... she... that day..."

Jenkins stammered, his thoughts practically written across his face.
