Chapter 88: Chapter 88

As Ryan made his way through the entrance of the accommodation village, she found herself lost in thought. "Meeting Terban was the right call, especially since he doesn't seem to return to the boarding house," she mused.

As she walked, a sleek black Bugatti Veyron worth $3.4 million suddenly pulled up in front of her. Although Ryan wasn't familiar with the make and model, her intuition told her that the car's owner was wealthy. This left her wondering why the car had stopped before her.

"It's unlikely that kidnappers would use a fancy car," Ryan thought, squinting her eyes. "But what if they've changed their tactics? Perhaps they're now using expensive cars to lure in their victims."

With that thought in mind, Ryan quickly took off running. It was better to be safe than sorry. However, the car began to follow him, and soon Ryan heard a voice calling out to him.

"Hey Ryan!" someone called out. She turned to see him approaching and noticed Sylvester staring out the car window. She checked with him, "Sylvester?"

Sylvester beckoned her to come in, "Come on, come on!" Ryan hesitated for a moment, feeling unsure about getting in the car.

However, she eventually climbed into the back seat after Slyvester opened the door. She silently wondered if this was a mistake.

"Whose car is this?" Ryan asked after settling in next to him.

Slyvester grinned and introduced the driver, "This is Ran, by the way."

Ryan met Ran's gaze and nervously said, "H-Hello."

Ran smiled warmly and responded, "Hello, Miss."

The car began to move slowly.

Ryan silently mouthed a question to Slyvester, "Is he your brother?"

Reading Ryan's lips, Ran said, "I have been Sir Slyvester's driver since high school."

This revelation took Ryan aback. If Slyvester had a driver since high school, it could only mean one thing. "Ah, now I understand," Ryan exclaimed.

Slyvester wondered if Ryan already knew about his wealth. "I know why Slyvester never learned to drive a car," Ryan continued.

Ran and Ryan laughed while Slyvester felt embarrassed. "You are so mean to me!" Slyvester protested. "It's cooler to ride a motorcycle than to drive a car."

Giselle informed Ryan about Slyvester's background, and she realized that she had hit the jackpot with his boyfriend. Ryan need not worry much.

Handsome, witty, knows how to cook, sings well, and is rich.

Ryan declared that she would fight for her boyfriend if his parents objected to their relationship. As a writer of romantic stories that she has yet to publish, Ryan often questions why the female characters are portrayed as weak. Why is it that when a boy's parents disapprove, the girl is left to deal with the problem alone and ultimately end the relationship? Ryan believes that strength is necessary to solve problems.

While embracing Ryan and resting her head on his shoulder, Slyvester commented, “You seemed to be gaining weight.”

“It is because you are feeding me too much,” Ryan rebuked.

Looking at the couple cuddling in the back seat, Ran smiled happily. When they arrived at the boarding house, and Slyvester exited the car, Ran unexpectedly locked the door behind him.

“W-What… What is this? Hey! Ran! Open the door!”

Slyvester knocked on the window in confusion, but Ran had something to say to Ryan privately.

“S-Sir?” Even Ryan was confused.

“I am sorry, Miss. Well, it’s just that there are things I wanted to talk to you about, Sir Slyvester. Something that I don’t want him to hear.”

During Slyvester's commotion outside, Ran revealed, “When Young Master Slyvester’s girlfriend died before, he had depression.”

“…” Ryan was lost for words. And she continued to listen.

"He doesn't eat, talk, or leave the room. We were worried about him. However, thanks to the friendships he formed at the boarding house, Sir Slyvester reverted to his old self."

Ran was referring to Kyle and Vincent, who have been close friends for a long time and have a strong bond. "Now, I can confidently say that Sir is doing well. He seems happy and content with you, Miss. Thank you."

When she first saw him, Ryan couldn't help but imagine Slyvester's condition. Although he appeared carefree, Ryan sensed there was something different about him. There were moments when he could feel his sadness.

"I will take care of your ‘Young Master.’ Don't worry," Ryan reassured Ran with a wink.

Ran smiled before opening the door. Ryan opened the door. Slyvester immediately took a peek.

Slyvester nervously asked, "What was that? What were you talking about?" He was worried that Ran had shared something embarrassing about him.

Ran confessed, "Things I'm ashamed to say in front of you, Sir."

Slyvester clicked his tongue in disappointment.

As Ryan exited the car, she joked, "Sir Ran said you peed on the bed when you were a kid."

Slyvester's eyes widened, and he glared at Ran. "You said that?!"

Ran just scratched his forehead, unsure of how to respond.

Ryan quickly clarified, "Oh my, I was just kidding. Did you really pee? How old were you?"

Slyvester needed clarification, "H-Huh? Was it just a joke?"

Ryan chuckled and walked off, with Sylvester trailing behind. However, before catching up, Sylvester turned back to caution Ran, saying, "Take care while driving, brother. If you feel drowsy, take a break and rest."

Ran laughed and replied, "Sure thing, head inside."

Sylvester smiled before hurrying after Ryan.

Sylvester is a kind-hearted person who treats Ran like a brother, despite being just a driver. This is why Ran values and empathizes with him.

The couple hesitated as they approached the door of the boarding house's opposite side after a few meters. They knew three villains would show up then, so they slowed down.

Ryan held Slyvester's hand and asked, "What did you and your parents talk about?"

Slyvester replied, "Dad is sending me to Italy."

Ryan stopped walking, worried that it might be to keep Slyvester away from her. "For how long?" she asked.

"I was supposed to stay for two months, but I disagreed. They can't force me if I don't want to," Slyvester explained.

Ryan sighed in relief, then asked, "What if they forcibly dragged you to the airport?"

Slyvester chuckled, "No one does that to their child."

Ryan retorted, "It happens on TV."

Slyvester teased her, "You're too addicted to watching dramatic movies."

Ryan asked, "So, what did you say to keep you from staying in Italy?”

"That I will not leave my girlfriend," Slyvester replied with a smile.

Ryan felt a cold sweat trickle down her back. She was brave but didn't think it would happen this fast.

"My dad wants to meet you," Slyvester said, a bit nervous. He bit his lower lip and then scratched his head.

"Okay, let's do it," Ryan said bravely, despite her heart racing.

"Really?! Awesome! My mom can't wait to meet you," Slyvester exclaimed.

Ryan tightened his grip on Slyvester and smiled faintly. "Hey, what did you talk to your parents about?" he asked.

"Slyvester?"

"Hmm?"

Ryan turned to him, raised her hands, and placed them on the cheeks of her beloved. "They met my childhood friend’s father and want to meet us tomorrow."

Slyvester remained silent.

"I'm going to meet with Terban tomorrow. I want to talk to him properly."

Slyvester looked down. He couldn't help but worry, especially since he once saw Terban kiss Ryan.

Ryan whispered, asking for assurance, "You trust me, don't you?"

Continuing softly, he requested, "Just promise me one thing. You'll go to a crowded place, okay?"

Sylvester's response showed that he trusted Ryan but not Terban. Despite this, they reached an agreement.

Ryan chuckled and agreed, "Yes, we'll go where there are many people."

Sylvester took her hand and kissed it. "Promise me, will you?"

Ryan twitched as she felt his breath on her skin and replied, "Y-Yeah."

Suddenly, the door opened, and Chaylen reported to Kyle, "President! I caught someone flirting outside!"

Kyle, who was on the rooftop with a watering can, met Sylvester's gaze.

Sylvester shouted inwardly, 'Don't tell me...!'

"Sorry, Sylvester! It slipped!" Kyle apologized before splashing some water on him and asking for forgiveness.
