Chapter 77: Chapter 77
Ryan’s POV
I met with my parents and went to the salon.
Mom and Dad received an invitation to a Grande party that would be held in Jayhill hotel. When I heard about this, I forgot about Giselle for a moment.
‘I need good food before going to a war.’
“Just you wait, Giselle. You’ll have a day with me,” I whispered while looking at myself through the big mirror of the salon.
As I monologue like Snow White’s evil stepmother, Mom turned her head to me and asked, “Daughter, do you think perming my hair will make me prettier?”
“No. Straight hair looks more good in you,” I commented.
‘Dad begged me to stop Mom from trying weird hairstyle. I must comply with his request.’
“Oh really? Then I will go with straight hair.”
While staring at my Mom’s sulky reaction, I couldn’t help but recall when Giselle told me that I am an adopted daughter.
I never felt like an outcast in this family. They said blood is thicker than water. True, I don’t share any blood with them, but water will thicken with cornstarch of love.
“Oh right, dear, how are you in the Boarding House? Segi told me that your boardmates are kind people,” Mom brought up.
Segi told her that? I really thought he revealed everything to my parents. It seemed the five guys threatened him well. Good job, boys.
“I am fine, Mom. And also, I will move to another boarding house soon.”
“That’s good,” she murmured with a nod. “Guys will remain guys no matter how kind and gentle they are. So, moving to another house is the best solution. Even so, they are really hilarious. Your dad and I could not forget when they wore women’s clothes to help you lie. Pfft…!”
I should be apologetic when Mom brought up the past, but seeing her laughing so hard, I decided to laugh it off.
“On our way back home, we even had a stupid debate asking if they were real women or men,” Mom added.
My silly mind remembered Kyle and Slyvester’s appearances during those times. This is something that would be hard to forget even after Century, I guess.
‘It is just a shame that our friendship went into jeopardy because they fell in love with me.’
Although I rejected three of them, I still felt so guilty. Especially to Chaylen.
‘Among them, he has the deepest cut.’
“Haaa,” I sighed as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. “It is a sin to be this pretty.”
“Ahem,” the hairstylist coughed when she heard me accidentally.

Third Person’s POV
After debating in his head for so long, Chaylen decided to attend the party in the Jayhill hotel. For the exclusive event, he wore a matching black suit and bow tie.
Everyone at the party came from a wealthy family or from influential businessmen/women or figures in society.
In the past, Chaylen used this chance to find hot women he can bring to the hotel. Things change, he could not imagine himself right now mingling with another woman, aside from Ryan.
Fact checks. Yes, he only has a fantasy with the woman who rejected him.
“I was dumped so bad,” Chaylen uttered while taking a sip of his champagne.
Chaylen can accept the truth – that Ryan likes Slyvester. But accepting and giving up are two different verbs.
‘I still hope I can change her feelings,’ he told himself.
“I didn’t know being in love would make you feel you can do everything, even kneeling down, just to get the girl,” he laughed at himself and shook his head. “And I kept on talking alone. Geez.”
He took another sip while his eyes scrutinized the surroundings. At the end of his gaze, he noticed a woman with white smooth skin. She has cute curly short hair, huge front, slim waist and nice ass. Definitely, Chaylen’s ideal body type for a woman.
Nevertheless, he did not feel anything while looking at that lady.
“Unless she is Rya… Pfft…!”
Chaylen almost sprayed the champagne out of his mouth. Thank goodness, he covered his mouth before making a mess on his clothes and on the other guests in the event.
He was so surprised when the lady tilted her head, and she turned out to be the lady Chaylen was fantasizing about!
‘Why is Ryan here?!’
“Brother Segi, does the pudding taste good?” Ryan asked Segi, who was standing next to her.
Chaylen ignored how Ryan worshipped the food on the long table, and instead, he only focused on her appearance tonight.
Ryan rarely dolls up. Tonight, Chaylen saw something once in a blue moon. Ryan was wearing light make-up that complimented her innocent face. She has heels too, which make it hard for her to move freely. Even so, Chaylen was so convinced that she was the prettiest woman in the world. That was only from his perspective.
“Brother Segi! Don’t leave me alone!” Ryan complained, about to follow Segi but a guy blocked her way.
Chaylen’s countenance darkened and his brows met with an accusatory frown.
“Hi, Miss,” the guy greeted Ryan. “Mind if I join your company? You look so lonely from afar, so I thought of accompanying you.”
“I was lonely?” Ryan asked, pointing to herself. “I wasn’t. Well, yeah, except the fact that I can’t eat the lobster because I cannot use my bare hand.”
Chaylen almost laughed so hard when he heard Ryan’s answer.
‘That’s why I fell in love with that unpredictable crazy woman,’ Chaylen sighed in his head.
Romantic songs played. The light went dimmer, and couples challenged themselves by gliding toward the dancing hall.
“This is my favorite song. Can I ask you for a dance, Miss?” the guy asked Ryan.
Ryan will reject him, and Chaylen can see that. However, even if he knew the future, Chaylen’s possessiveness hit on, and he rushed toward them.
“I am sorry,” Chaylen said, pulling Ryan away from the man. He held her tightly, murmuring, “But this lad is mine.”
Chaylen put Ryan’s plate on the side before he brought her to the dancing stage.
The two of them met for the first in the frantic night bar. But this time, Chaylen wanted to dance with her, now that he knew she was the woman he would love more than his life.
