Chapter 47: Chapter 47

Ryan’s POV

Emily told me to start experimenting to know what I truly feel.

That is by looking at those five men as guys.

Thus, when I saw Sylvester waving his hand from afar, I realized that the experiment had started.

“Ryan, why are you so late? I walked out and looked for you because I miss you,” Sylvester said after running toward my side.

I looked at Sylvester’s face and began to appreciate his looks.

He had clean-cut dark blue hair when I first saw him. But his hair went longer, so he has long side bangs. I couldn’t see his dark and straight brows.

Under the streetlamp, his narrow but bright eyes were shining. Sylvester’s nose was so sharp that it could cut an onion. And his smile? Still captivating. Just looking at it made me feel refreshed.

I held my chest to check my pulse.

‘My heart beats normally.’

“Why are you looking at me like that? You were observing me too much. Do I have a booger?” he asked, which made me calmer.

“Sylvester, I am not comfortable until now,” I confessed as I hugged the books I am holding.

“Is it because of what I did yesterday?” He asked, and with a chuckle, he added, “That’s fine. I don’t want you to get awkward without a reason. At least, you’re feeling awkward because you have a reason. I love the reactions.”

I feel like talking to a wall.

But I felt a little nervous because of his words.

‘Is this a sign? No. This is too early.’

“Well, if you aren’t going anywhere, then let’s go home.”

I walked forward, passing him.

“Wait! I still have one destination!” he shouted, and so I looked back.

“Where?”

“In your heart~” He pointed at me before he winked and sent a mini heart with his fingers.

What the hell? Is this how he courts a lady? It’s too childish!

“You look like an idiot right now. Do you know that?” I complained, laughing.

Slyv walked closer, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

“Ryan, don’t be too tense. Just enjoy it. I am serious and I really love you. But before I fell in love, we were close friends. I fetched you tonight because I’m worried about you.”

I think Slyvester has a point. If I focused on their confessions too much, it would be hard for me to communicate with either one of them.

“So, breathe. Relax and take it easy,” he said, ruffling my hair and walking North.

I went right on his tail.

I really wanted to relax while we were together. But minutes later, we stopped talking. The tension lurked within me amidst the silence.

Suddenly, he stopped and asked me, “Are you feeling cold?”

Now that he asked that, yes, I felt cold.

“A little,” I said.

Slyvester took off his jean jacket. He leaned closer and was about to wrap his jacket around me.

I thought I could accept it. But there were goosebumps on my skin and my head felt heavy!

I can’t really do this!

“I’m fine!” I said and then ran away from him.

Slyvester didn’t have the chance to put his jacket on me. It’s more like I DIDN’T GIVE HIM THE CHANCE.

“Let’s just g-go home quick!” I uttered while walking at a fast pace.

Whenever I watch this kind of scene in movies, I feel butterflies in my stomach. But now that it is happening to me, I felt like seeing a ghost inside a haunted bathroom.

“Wait a minute! Hey! Ryan! Just wear this! Ryan!”

Slyvester ran.

I also ran.

We looked like an idiot running in the street, not until I heard a thud and groan sound behind me.

Thud!

“Ahh!”

Catching my breath, I looked back. My eyes grew bigger when I saw Slyvester lying flat on the ground! Did he trip himself?!

It was so funny, I really wanted to laugh so hard. Mercifully, I suppressed the laughter from slipping out of my big mouth.

Slyvester stood up as quick as lightning. He pretended as if nothing happened.

“It does not hurt,” he said. “IT DOESN’T REALLY HURT.”

He wiped the dust and looked proudly at me.

‘He must be so embarrassed right now. Pfft…!’

I thought nothing besides laughing but changed my mind when I saw the wound on his knee.

He was wearing above-the-knee shorts, which was the reason why he had wounds on his knees. When I investigated his face, the corners of his lips drooped.

He lowered his head, held his knee, and cried without tears.

"Ahhhhh~" he winced. "It is really painful~"

I punched myself to stop myself from laughing. When I succeeded, I said, “You are so clumsy, Slyvester.” I walked closer to him while clenching my hands.

‘Don’t laugh, Ryan. Don’t laugh,’ I chanted a spell to myself.

“Let’s quickly head home so we can take care of that,” I suggested.

He stood straight and covered his face.

“I don’t want! If I go home with these, they will know that I fell flat on the ground! That is so embarrassing!”

‘Oh my gosh! He is so cute!’

I took a deep breath and sighed.

“What a pain in the ass,” I mumbled.

He peeked at me and glared.

“Are you laughing at me?”

“N-No,” I said through my nose.

“This is your fault!” he blamed me. “You were running away from me. That’s why I tripped.”

“All right, all right. I know. If you don’t want others to know the reason why you have wounds in your knees, then let’s go there.”

I pointed in the direction of the convenience store with my lips.

“In a convenience store? Why?”

“To buy medicine and aid that. Okay?”

His grimace disappeared and he smiled widely.

“Deal! Let’s go!”

He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me toward the convenience store.

‘I felt like he just scammed me. He doesn’t look in pain at all.’

Well, whatever. This is a part of my love experiment so let’s just go with the flow.
