Chapter 70: Chapter 70
There were a lot of pressmen and cameras when I arrived with Phoebe from Bride's Paradise and seeing our car come to a stop in front of my house they run towards me. I panic and stumble back, but Phoebe who seems to be used to this kind of attention pushes them back.
"Have some respect and decency goodness!" She hisses annoyingly.
Her driver which has been with us comes to stand before us as a shield and helps us get to the door.
I knock on the door, but Jack's harsh voice shoos me away from inside "Go away, perverts!"
"Jack! Open the door!" I shout, knocking harder on the door.
"Taylor?" Comes a more calm voice and the door click opens. "Are they gon-" he glances behind me and his eyes narrows indignantly. "Don't they have a life?"
Phoebe and I enter the house and close the door. "They do, sadly this is it."
"They arrived the moment you left and have been outside since then. We thought if we close the door they would get bored and leave. We were so wrong." Jake says as Phoebe goes to Jack and gives him a deep kiss on the lips.
I have been used to seeing them run my way these past weeks, but every time I've always had Rory beside me to shield me, but never did I think that they'll come to my house.
"Thank heavens mom's not here, she would have fainted, or worse," Josh says from the side of the window where he takes a peep at the paparazzi.
"What's their fuss today?"
"Their fuss?" Phoebe tears her eyes from Jack to me. "You're marrying the richest man on earth in two days, that's enough to get their butts on fire."
"Does that mean I'll get their butt on fire during our wedding?!" Jack asks, his brow-raising questionably at his fiancée.
"Probably." She shrugs hiding her blush.
It's a wonder how Phoebe can be bold and mature with people and timid and soft with Jack, everyone with eyes would see the love in the eyes of the two every time they are together.
"Won't mind my butt on fire as long as it's for you. They can set my butt on fire anytime they want and I bet my butt won't feel the hurt"
"Can we have a moment where there is be no mentioning of butt?!" Josh exclaim loudly with a face filled with horror.
Jack rolls his eyes and kisses Phoebe who kisses back and wraps her arms around his neck and Jack's hand settles on her waist.
"Goodness!! Get a room you two." Jake snaps with a flat look pointing at the room.
"We will, in four month's." Assurance dawning on Jack's voice. "But until then..." he captures Phoebe's mouth and kisses her deeply and Jake and Josh cover their faces with the pillow.
After the next one hour passes and they did not leave, I decided to give the paparazzi thirty minute - one hour of my time so that they would leave because I was beginning to pity them.
The three Js follow me out to the balcony and as the reporters see me, they run over.
"I'm going to answer your questions for the next ten minutes if you decide to leave after that." I look at the different faces standing before me. "Do we have a deal?"
"Okay. Yes." They all reply in agreement and I let them into the house and while some sit and gets their pens in place, some stands and some are beside their camera, and some pulls out their phone and recorder.
When we finally are set, I ask. "So what are some of the questions you have for me?"
One of them raises his hand and I nod for him to go on. "Tell us how you feel about the wedding?"
"Nervous." I honestly answer with a small smile. "And a little hyper."
Another raises his hand and asks, "Most of the people believe that you're not marrying Rory for love, bit for the interest and gain. What do you have to say to them."
This question hit me hard and I take a few moments to recover. I blink a couple of time trying to regain consciousness, but realising all my actions are being taped I recover myself. "First of all, I don't care what anyone thinks for the reason I'm marrying Rory, but I know it's for love not for any other thing. I don't see Rory different from the way I see everyone else except with love, and he appreciates that."
Another asks, "The whole world know Rory has a player and heartbreaker. What makes you so sure he's not gonna do the same."
"Because as silly as it might sound, I do have faith in him" I smile down at myself and the thought of Rory together. "Just like he has faith in me."
"Rory once said he wanted to have as many kids as possible, are you ready to give birth to many kids?"
"I want a big family, so yea if possible and I would love the cheaper by dozen kind of family," I say with a small laugh.
"Is it true that you can't cook and after marriage, Rory would be the cook of the house?"
"Yes it's true, Rory would have to do the cooking because I can't cook! Cooking is one of many gifts God didn't give me a long side..." I use my hand to illustrate the 8 figure and the whole room burst out laughing.
Glad to know my humour isn't completely dead!
After a few more questions and answers, I called it a day and they were all happy to leave.
I take a break into my room so I can have a good rest and my rest turns into a long sleep.
I wake up to the ringing of my phone. I take my phone from the nightstand to see the caller ID which is Rory and I answer it.
"Hey, hun." comes Rory bright voice and it sends a cool chill down my spine.
"Hey," I say sleepily, rubbing my eyes open.
"Did I call at a bad time?" He asks, his tone changing to an unsure one.
I begin to sit up. "No. I was sleeping... Why did you call?"
"Wanted to hear your sweet voice." I roll my eyes, but can't help smiling. "Saw you on the E! News"
"Ah!" I exclaim forgetting the whole world must have been watching and had heard me complain about my curves. "Yea? Cute."
Like he could read my mind, he continues, "And to tell you that you've got an amazing figure too! How many times do I have to remind you that?"
"As many times as possible." I tease with a wicked smirk he would imagine me keeping.
"I love your figure, it's perfect, enchanting and amazing and one out of a billion. I could spend eternity just staring at it and running my fingers over it because I don't want to ever stop."
"Hmm, okay, lover boy."
"Are you ready to become Mrs Gate?"
I stop for a moment to give his question a quick thought am I ready to become Mrs Gate? The answer to the question is a pure no. I am not ready to be part of the family, not while I still had adversaries there, not while I still don't know how to carry myself and walk and talk like the rest of them, not while I still feel this big gap whenever I meet his mom and big sister and even though his father is neutral, I still don't know where I stand with him.
"No." I shake my head even though he can't see me. "But I'm ready to become your wife."
"I love you."
I bite down on my lips nervously, not wanting to reply. I had to tell him about Keenan and us and all the things that had been happening between us. I don't think it would be okay if someone else tells him first. I am getting married in two days and the last thing I want are hidden secrets.
"There's something you have to know about Keenan and me..."
"I know." He replies calmly, "Keenan told me everything."
"He did?" My surprise seems to overcome me.
He chuckles, "Yes, we don't keep secrets from each other."
"And you're okay with that?" My brow raises questionably.
"Of course I am! What were you expecting? A fight?" He asks in obvious disbelief.
Sure for having his hands all over your future wife, he deserves to get a punch at least.
I laugh dryly. "Not really."
"Well, that's good. We are fine."
I sigh in relief because I did not know where or how I was going to begin to tell him about Keenan and me. "That's good to know."
"I love you." He says again and this time I am not afraid to reply.
I grin widely even though he can't see me."I know, I love you too."
The night before the wedding.
"You seriously believe that if I see you something bad is gonna happen tomorrow at the wedding?" He asks, with a ridiculous voice.
We have been on our call for the past four hours and all the while we spend talking about the wedding and the receptions and the honeymoon and yes Rory hasn't stopped telling me how he had planned for the honeymoon to be both pleasure and pain and well I can't wait.
I carve him, I want him and I also need him to see him too, but I know after tomorrow craves, wants and needs won't be in my dictionary.
"No, but you're gonna see me tomorrow so why not wait until then?"
"I think I'm gonna die if I don't see you." His exaggeration is always great and always obvious.
"Tomorrow it is, besides it's close to midnight. Go to sleep now and tomorrow you'd be glad you waited."
He makes a grumbling sound. "Fine! Just know I'm not happy and I'm gonna have my revenge for this."
"Really?" My eyes widen in fake fear. "I'm scared."
"Bye, I love you." I end the call and drop my phone when my door open and Mom enters.
"Are you busy, Taylor?" She asks walking to my bed.
"Not anymore. What's wrong?"
She smiles cheerfully at me, coming to take a seat and take my hand into hers and squeezing them "With everything happening, I just hope you're happy."
I nod and she nods along "I remember when I married your Dad, I couldn't tell how I was feeling, but all I knew then was that I was making one of the best decision in my life. If your heart feels wrong, listen to it cause your heart never lies, but if it feels right, then know it's the best decision you're yet to make."
"I know I have already given you both my blessing, but above all things, I wish you'd be happy and fulfilled."
Tears are already ready to run down my eyes as she says this. "I love you, Mom."
"I love you too child. Wish your dad was here to see his beautiful girl." A tear roll down her eyes and I wipe it off.
"Don't cry mom, I bet where ever he is he's happy with everything happening."
She nods in agreement "I should go. I want you to sleep now. Tomorrow is your day child. Good night."
"Good night, mom." I smile at her.
"Good night, Taylor." She kisses my forehead before getting up and walking out.
