Chapter 69: Chapter 69
The past week has been hell with the preparation for the wedding. After officially breaking his engagement with Paris, he announced our engagement which some paparazzi say is unlike him and others say it must be love and I can't agree more. Although I told Rory I wanted a small wedding one with a few guest and families, Rory being his normal show off self said he wanted something that won't be forgotten so quickly. I want a jaw-dropping wedding, eyes popping kind of wedding because it only happened once I'm a lifetime love. I smile to myself remembering the words he said to me this morning as I send the last invitation which is for Mycole and Keenan out.
Phoebe says she'll be here in the afternoon which is any moment from now to take me for the wedding gown shopping. And having spent the last week in her company I know if there is anything to pick out as her resemblance to Rory, it wouldn't be just the looks but her taste as well.
20 minute later ======>
Shopping for the wedding gown.
Phoebe had earlier showed me some online most expensive wedding gown photo and made me choose a long, silk off-shoulder gown with white diamond, beautifully and perfectly arrayed at the waist and hem of the gown causing the gown to sparkle. As we enter the big elegant building which is called the Bride's Paradise.
"Welcome to Bride's Paradise, we are glad to have you." Says a young lady with long black hair, smiling as she comes closer to meet us.
"Thank you." Phoebe replies with a bold smile, and brings out her palm top and shows it to the lady. "we are looking for this gown, I saw it online and we'll like to try it on." She asks for the gown I had chosen.
"Oh sure, follow me." The Lady attendant says and we follow her. and she brings us into the room where there are even more exotic designs of gowns. "You must be talking about this one then?" She points to the gown we had seen online and I wordlessly nod.
"Yes, let's have it," Phoebe tells the girl immediately and it's brought down from its stand. She hands it to Phoebe who in turn hands it to me.
Boy, is it heavy?
"Let's go try it on." I follow the lady and she leads us into the changing room, there we meet some female workers in the room and together they help me into the gown.
"Sorry, are we going to do all this that day?" I ask, looking to Phoebe who's inspecting my adornment as the ladies adjust my ropes to perfectly fit me.
"Excellent, ladies and yes, Taylor, we are. And you look breathtaking right now." She says with a wide smile.
Oh if my cheek can get any redder.
"So let's wrap the gown girls!" Phoebe claps her and the girls begin to help me out of the gown.
We walk out of the changing room to the lady in attendance whom Phoebe asks for the price, and to my surprise and awe, she replies.
"$450,000."
"What?!" I exclaim and I cover my mouth and turn to Phoebe who is wearing a neutral expression. "I don't think I want it anymore."
Phoebe gives me a ridiculous eye and sends the ladies away with a broad smile and she walks over to where I am fidgeting nervously. "Don't do that." She hushes me, as her hand gently takes mine.
"Why not?!" I ask, in a whispering voice. "This is like my salary for like ten years?" I bet my eyes are popping out right now.
She chuckles, rolling my eyes. "You're sounding real funny right now you know." She claps my back tenderly. "You should get used to it and I know you don't let Rory spoil you, but come on this is your wedding! And you need to be at your best and if possible better than the best. And oh it's in two day's time."
I sigh in defeat, "If we are spending this much money on just the gown I wonder how much the whole wedding will be."
"Well good thing Rory has a different account for that." She says with a goofy grin as she pulls out a card from her purse and shows it to me and I frown down at the master card in her hand.
"How much would be in the account if I might ask?"
She shrugs with a very casual attitude. "Rory had budget twice the amount, but sliced it down so you wouldn't get so hyper."
"Okay... Then how much did he budget?" I wait calmly... Patiently for her to speak.
"He budgeted $50 million."
I
Think
I'm
Gonna
Have
An
Heart
Attack!!!!
"What?!" My eyes nearly pop out of their socket in overwhelming shock
"We are not travelling to the moon are we?" I raise my brow sceptically as o try not to yell aloud.
"No of course not Taylor, I personally think it's too small, like come on! This happens once in a lifetime and besides, it's on him to provide and make it the best. People are coming from all over the world."
I sigh again, shaking my head. "He said the same thing," I mutter under my breath.
"He's right and it would be a shame if my wedding ends up more grand than his." She says in a fact tone.
She's right Phoebe over the years has made a name for herself in the gaming business and she has been able to buy over the Gameloft game company and manage it as her own. Her companies have made over billions of dollars over the years, but not really to be compared with Pearl, Diamond, Gazelle and Daisy. But in all, Phoebe can actually have a more grand wedding if she so desires.
I steal a glance at her wedding ring again; it isn't expensive-looking or flashy or up to her standard and I know the only reason she'd said yes to Jack is because she really loves him. Jack and Phoebe had decided that they'll wait for Jack to turn eighteen before they'll begin any preparations for the wedding and the three Js turns eighteen in four month's time so, the wedding has officially been set to then.
I smile at myself and she gives me a weird look. "Spill. What are you thinking about?"
"Jack- and you."
She suppresses the smile and brushes away the blush that almost forms in her face. "Why?" She folds her hand over her chest.
"You've changed him."
"I think he changed me. He thought me that someone with my status and money can find true happiness and love."
"Well, I'm happy for you." I beam at her.
"You too."
We sort out everything that needs to be sorted out in the shop before leaving.
