Chapter 123: Chapter 123

The room is crowded for the next hour and they don't leave me alone the way I want. Families were around and as much as I hated them trying to suffocate me, I was grateful that they were with me through it all. Although I do not see Jack, Phoebe looks grateful that I was finally awake and doing okay. Keenan walked in, looking so happy. He's holding Reign in his arms protectively and my heart swells at the picture in front of me I wish I could hug him. She looks so happy, so beautiful like her mother and Keenan whispers something into her and she turns back and looks at me and she sees me and her face breaks into a wide surprise.

"Daddy!" she squeals with high pitched voice, as Keenan brings her towards my side on the bed. "you're awake."

I lift my hands and slowly stroke her hand, "Yes, I am because I wanted to see you again."

I nod at Keenan and he nods back, "We came to see Taylor and she told us you were awake." he says.

"Oh yeah, thanks for everything man."

Taylor POV

"Don't worry, Taylor, the dress is perfect on you," Phoebe commented as she inspects my wedding dress from the door while the girls finishing their last piece of blue diamond onto the dress.

The dress was bought with its own designs, but Phoebe wasn't satisfied with it and so she hired an expert to put finishing touches to the dress.

The dress is an armless lace gown with its elegance and the full array of silk at the bottom part of it, unlike my first wedding dress, there is no curves inputs, I wanted something simple, but I should have known that when it comes to the Gate's, my choice doesn't matter.

They have a high taste of thing and always go for the best in everything even if it cost them a fortune to get it.

"Excellent girl." She claps her hand and the girls leave the room.

"You look beautiful, Taylor." She says as she draws closer to me.

"Thanks," I reply, fidgeting with my finger nervously.

Yes, I am as nervous as hell, maybe because I've lived through this before, four years ago and it was a disaster and ended in heartbreaks and as much as I try to encourage myself, I cannot be certain; well not until I see Rory standing beside me in the church and reading our vows.

"It's okay to be nervous," Phoebe's voice snaps me out of my thought to look into her green eyes. "Hell, you should have seen me when Jack and I were getting married, I was so scared everything would go wrong that I kept calling Jack just to make sure he'll be there." Her eyes show a hint of sadness as she remembers this.

Their marriage had been experiencing some downturn lately and last week Jack left the house and when I last spoke to him, he said they both could use being apart for a while to know if they are still in love as they use to be. They are both separated and they are both unhappy.

Although none has said anything I knew the break up came while Rory was still in the hospital a week ago and somehow Keenan had a great role to play in the break-up and trouble, but I made a promise to Rory that I would not be involved. I could not hate Keenan for what he did and I do not want to pick sides, but Jack was my brother and he was hurt and so if taking time is what he need, then he will have it. After telling me he couldn't stand the sight of Keenan, who was going to be Rory's best man and Phoebe at the wedding, I was still able to convince Jack to come for the wedding and for that I'm glad.

I hope this wedding doesn't put them in awkward situations, but rather see them through the path of reconciliation.

I take Phoebe's hand and squeeze it and she looks up at me, "Everything is going to be fine, Phoebe."

"I'm not sure."

"I have faith in the love you and Jack share," I tell her with confidence.

Jack was a dumb seventeen-year-old when he met and fell for Phoebe, no one believed in their life story, I know I didn't at first. But he proved to everyone that love was more than age or social class or even educational level. He was loyal to Phoebe and he's loved her all these years. I saw love change a boy into a man and I still believe in that love.

"I hope so. But it's wedding today so it's your turn to have fun."

We come to the living room and there stand Josh and Jake looking great and incredibly dashing, but I do not see Jack, and just as the thought of him crosses my mind, the door opens and he walks in.

His eyes catch mine first and I can't help but smile at him and he smiles weakly at me before his gaze drops to Phoebe, stays there for a while before dropping to her bump and his blue eyes grow weak. I can see the pain and torture he seems to be going through and although he tries to mask it, I have known him for so long I can tell when he's suffering.

"Hey, Jack I'm so glad you could make it." I say, going over to Jack and hugging him, "I'm so glad you're okay."

"Me too," he replies in a murmur, wrapping his arms around me tightly and as he does this, I beckon to Josh and Jake to join in the big hug and they draw closer and for the first time in a long time, I feel like we all can be one big happy family again.

We pull apart and I stare pridefully at them, three brothers, just like four years ago except we have come so far and we are not the same people anymore.

"How's the study going?" I ask Jake and he shrugs casually. Jake is doing his masters in web designing and networking at Stanford University and has been gone for months because he got a job close to the university and he only returned to be at my wedding.

"It's really going great, Taylor."

I give him a deep double meaning look before asking, "Is there a girl you want me to meet?" A blush appears on his cheeks and nod.

"Her name is Blake, Blake Noble."

My brows furrow a little, as I get a little confused, "His name?"

He sighs, "No, I wasn't mistaking when I said her, she's a girl." He replies.

"Oh great. What about you, Josh, you good?" I look at him and he nods his head, "you sure?" I ask, and after rolling his eyes he nods again.

"How are you, Jack?"

He looks up from his phone which seems to have kept him occupied for the last five minute. His face is folded in a frown that not really directed at any of us.

"I'm fine." He replies absentmindedly and before I can ask something else, I hear Jake's voice.

"The car is here."

"Come on then let's go," I say, putting my arm around Jack's.

We arrive at the New Baptist Church and we get down.

I am amazed at what Rory with the help of Phoebe has done with this place. Not only were there able to lift the standard of the church, but they also were able to increase the space capacity as well so all the guest can have a place to seat.

As we enter I see Rory already standing by the altar and waiting for me, dressed in a dashing, black tuxedo. His hair is a styled sleep hair with a little perfect part on the side and beside him is his Dad, mom and Keenan his best man. He turns around and looks at me walking towards him and he smiles radiantly at me and I can't help the joy and happiness that courses through me and I make my way down the aisle over to him at the altar.

After the Hymn is sung, the priest asks the people to sit down, before speaking, "We are all gathered here to witness the holy matrimony of Rory John Gate and Taylor Snowfall and-"

"Sir." Rory call, cutting his words short, "can we skip to the vows and pledges?"

"Okay," he nod then turns to Keenan, "the rings."

Keenan brings out the rings and hands them to the priest and Rory takes my hands into his and smiles at me.

"Do you, Rory John Gate take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife to love and to cherish, through the good time and through bad times, honouring, shielding, safeguarding, protecting, putting her life, needs desire, wants above yours, and loving till death do you part?"

"I do" Rory answers and pick the ring, sliding it onto my ring finger and I can't help stop the smile on my face.

"Do you, Taylor Snowfall take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband to love and to cherish, through the good time and through bad times, honouring, shielding, safeguarding, protecting, putting his life, needs desire, wants above yours, and loving till death do you part?"

"I do," I answer taking the ring and guarding it onto his ring finger.

"By the power vested on me and in the face of God and men, I pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

Rory kisses me like we have never kissed before and the congregation cheer and clap their hands.

Rory pulls away, his eyes radiating beautifully. "I'm gonna need to get you out of here wife, I'm so desperate, I have to like - you know."

I chuckle, "Yes you are, desperate husband, but we still have the reception and remember, we must thank the guests that have arrived before we even think about taking our leave." I remind him while I smile at the congregation.

His face goes pale almost immediately and it is a funny sight. "Can't someone else do it?" He asks weakly.

I frown, "No, they can't because they didn't get married, we did," I tell him abruptly, "I would still need to place Reign with Phoebe and Keenan care and make sure she's safe before we can leave."

He slowly breaths down, more in composure and restrain than in relief, "When would we leave then." He asks through gritted teeth.

"If things go as planned, we will be gone at approximately three days," I conclude.

"Damn, you're certainly my nightmare!" He exclaims in frustration.

I smirk and turn to give him a teasing eye. "And you cannot get enough of me."

I place a quick kiss on his cheeks and take his hand before running out of the church.

"Just trying to be my best 'cause I know that's what you deserve."

He's better than he gives himself credit for most times and maybe that's why I love him so much.
