Chapter 110: Chapter 110

Third POV

Three days later

Taylor is coming into her office when she sees Keenan standing and looking out of her window. He was wearing a grey tuxedo and his hands are shoved into his ironed trousers and he has on his brown well-polished shoe. She seems surprised and happy to see him nevertheless, her gut tells her he had come because of Rory and the last thing she wants is to have the discussion.

She wants to go a day without having to talk about him. Jack in the last few days hasn't been on her side. When he heard what happened to Rory he said that she was taking it to the extreme and needed to stop.

She told him she was done with him, but she reminded him that that wasn't even close to what they did to them. He didn't see things her way and Taylor wasn't going to force him to.

"Keenan, I know why you're here." she begins to speak up and that makes him turn around to look at her.

Her breath cut in her throat and seems to notice because his brow rises, but she has to admit he is looking different in a good way. His beards are trimmed his hair also although messy and rough looks great. He is looking radiant, really handsome to be precise and all she wanted to do now was run into his arms, but she knew that was no longer possible knowing he was already married.

How was that even possible? One day he was proposing to her and the next he was married? She knows she has to be happy for him, but she can't help feeling sad also.

"If you're thinking I came here for Rory, then you're wrong 'cause I'm not here for that," he answers, his eyes are bright and alive more alive than the last time she saw him.

That did surprise her, but she gets over her surprise to become puzzled, "Why are you here then?"

He begins to walk towards her and he removes his hands from his pocket to cross them over his chest as he stares at her in an intrigued manner. "To ask after you, Taylor. "

"Oh..." her puzzled state decreases a little, "I'm fine, Keenan, as you can see."

"Oh, I see quite well." he moves towards her and although fear rises in her, she does not move back. "I see that you're the new CEO of Microsoft with forty-seven per cent of the company's shares and the majority of the board members' consent," he smiles at her a little as he moves even closer to her, "I see that you've become the woman you've always wanted to be, a self-sufficient, independent woman, and I see that although you're where you have always wanted to be, you are not happy." he stops when he's standing directly in front of her, "I see wealth without happiness, success without joy, fulfilment without peace, money without completeness, life without love. I also see a girl in all that is just crying, pleading to be loved. I see an innocent girl, the girl I fell head over heels in love with, a girl that would never hurt a soul, that would not make a man homeless because she can't see how much he loves her."

"I think one of the reasons why I fell even harder for you was because I saw how much you loved Rory and I wanted to feel that too, I wanted to know what it felt like to be loved sincerely, completely again." His hand moves to her chest to feel its heartbeat, "And I know in there, that Taylor is there praying, begging to be set free."

His hand dropped from her chest and he walks to the door, "So you see that wasn't why I came." he opens the door and walks.

She silently stare at the door not knowing what to do or say, she feels numb for the first time in a long time she doesn't know what to do.

Something cold hits her hand and she jerks back and bringing it up she realises it's her tears. Keenan words seem to have done some damage, maybe a little more than she expected.

Brushing her tears away she holds her head up like she has done all the while. She knows she's going to get through this one way or another. So shutting her weak side down, she walks over to her seat and begins working on the files on her desk.

Rory glances at the time as he paces around aimlessly, and it is just half-past four when the door opens and Keenan enters. He eagerly approaches him with expectation in his green eyes.

Keenan notices that he is looking shabby and unkempt. His green eyes looking like they haven't been having enough sleep in the last few days making dark shade appear under his eyes. His brown hair is rough and his beards also have grown rapidly the past few days in an untidy manner.

"What did she say?" Rory asks his need for answers getting out of control.

"Nothing." when Rory's eyes grow desperate he continues to speak. "But all hope isn't lost yet."

"How isn't all hope lost?" he asks pathetically. "Tell me how?!"

Keenan's mouth opens to say something, but he closes it when he realises there is nothing to say. "We can still hope for her love for you," he suggests.

"Which is little, and there is no guarantee that it is even there anymore!" he laments helplessly, "It's been four days already, Keenan and all we have been counting on is her love for me and here we are, still nowhere."

"Calm down, Rory, we still can-" his words are cut short when his phone begins to ring. He holds his hand out for the minute and moves away to answer the call.

When Keenan comes back, he gives Rory an apologetic eye and Rory knows he has to go again. Being stuck in this place and being unable to go anywhere and having Keenan come and leave wasn't helping him either.

He has to not think about himself alone, he has to consider the fact that Keenan though here is also a married man with his problems and responsibilities.

"It's okay, Keenan I get it, you are a married man now, I do understand that. Go, I'll be fine."

He gives him a weary look, "Are you sure you won't do anything crazy?"

Rory nods assuring him he was going to be fine and without another word, Keenan walks out of the room.
