Chapter 84

Spin the bottle

Friends are currently playing spin the bottle. They are thrilled every time the bottle coincides with the love team.

"You turn the bottle," Iries excitedly ordered Pershey. Pershey was next to her. They rotate around to match their work. Everyone are sitting frogs. Side by side are Pershey and Iries, Iries and Leighden, Leighden and Samuel, Caleb and Fricks, Fricks and Neil, Neil and Draek.

Pershey silently twisted the bottle. It rotates rapidly until it gradually slows down in rotation. Everyone's gaze follows the rotation of the bottle and waits to see who it will face.

The rotation of the bottle slowed even more until it stopped opposite Pershey and Caleb.

A smile drew on Caleb's lips and so did Pershey's. Caleb will ask, Pershey will answer.

Everyone was silent while waiting for Caleb to speak. He was thinking deeply and did not know what his mind would put first. Many things were going through his mind, so it was not easy to ask Pershey.

"May I ask if ..." he stopped to think whether to continue his question or change the question.

Some frowned as they looked at him. Pershey didn't frown but waited for what Caleb would say next.

He seemed hesitant to pursue his question, so he twisted what seemed to cause him to take so long to speak.

"... who's your first love?" he asked still a little hesitant. Pershey didn't think much of Caleb's question. Various things seemed to overwhelm Pershey's mind.

She could not immediately answer his question. Her mind seemed to swell or seemed to float in the air. Many things entered her mind but not one she could find.

Everyone is waiting for her answer. She seemed to feel something strange in her chest at Caleb's sudden question. She did not know what to answer not because she was embarrassed but because her answer was different from what she knew Caleb or everyone else wanted to hear.

"M-m-m-my first l-love?" she stuttered the question. She couldn't help but look into the eyes of those who were looking at her and her gaze struck Neil who wasn't even looking at her. Neil was busy tapping her cellphone.

"He asked you, Pershey," Iries said while looking at the timer. "You still have 30 seconds to answer," she reminded.

"A-a-amm ..."

Iries paused the timer for a moment to remind the rules.

“Remember that we have rules in playing spin the bottle. The question of the questioner may not be answered but there is a penalty. The penalty for not answering is to drink two bottles of wine in a shot glass. You can move to another question but there is still punishment. The punishment will be drinking wine in a shot glass of wine but single only. Not two shots but one shot only unlike the old one.”

Red wine and shot glasses were ready immediately. So far no one has tasted wine.

Iries looked at Pershey again, then resumed the time.

The time allotted to Pershey to answer Caleb's question was getting shorter and shorter.

"Amm ..."

She did not know how to answer Caleb's question even though she knew in her heart who her first loved is. She knew who that man was but she could not say because she might hurt the feelings of others.

"10 seconds," said Iries. Pershey’s time continues to run out. She was confused. She wanted to speak but her mouth seemed to be shut or her tongue seemed to be bending and receding.

Leighden was already holding two glasses of wine to give Pershey in case the time ran out that she couldn’t answer Caleb’s question.

"5 seconds."

Everyone is waiting for her answer. Even Caleb was waiting and worried that she might not be able to answer his question. In these moments, he thought that he would have chosen a different question, so that Pershey would not have any more trouble.

As soon as Iries mentioned the time remaining, Neil looked at them as he held the cellphone and steady scrolling on it. His gaze wandered to Pershey for a moment and they looked at each other. Pershey's gaze seemed to indicate something he couldn't understand but he could feel the anxiety symbolizing Pershey's gaze.

"Time is up!"

She was just scratching her neck when her 1 minute time was up. For a minute, she hadn’t answered Caleb’s question of who her first love was.

Iries took two shot glasses full of red wine. Pershey's body is 100% sure if she drinks all that. She would get drunk right away when she drank that but that was the punishment for their play.

Everyone was looking at them. Caleb seemed to have a guilty conscience about his question. He didn't quite think Pershey would be able to answer. The answer he wanted to hear, he did not hear. It was as if he was confused and worried for Pershey.

“I'll be the one to drink for Pershey,” Samuel offered and was about to take the wine when Leighden immediately tapped his hand.

“Spin the bottle is a challenge,” she seriously said.

He tapped Neil's arm lightly so he could do something. He ignored Samuel but he knew in himself what he wanted to do. He just restrains himself and just entertains himself by scrolling through Facebook. Although he does not look at them, he feels their actions.

"Two shots?" Iries nodded and handed her the two shot glasses. Her lips twitched as she looked at the wine she was holding. She knew she would get drunk.

“Drink,” said Iries.

She was still grinning and traced the reaction that zhe didn’t like red wine.

Caleb was not very self -conscious. He wanted to stop Pershey from drinking alcohol but he didn't know how because those were the rules that had to be followed that Pershey didn't follow.

Leighden, on the other hand, holds the water that Pershey will drink after she drinks the wine that has been prepared for her.

She slowly brings a glass of wine to her face. She could barely smell it even though it was still a bit far from her nose. She immediately felt that she was vomiting even though she had not yet drunk.

Meanwhile, Samuel patted Neil's arm lightly again. That was a signal that he should stop Pershey.

Neil was still constantly tapping and scrolling on Facebook but his mind was flying, so he didn’t notice what his fingers were already typing.

"Drink, Pershey, drink," Iries teased and ordered.

At that moment, she took a deep breath. She slowly brings the wine closer to her lips. Her left hand holds a wine filled in a small shot glass, and her right hand holds another.

She was about to drink the wine but not everyone fully expected what would happen. Pershey was unable to drink the wine when Caleb snatched from her the wine she was supposed to drink. In addition, Neil also took another wine that she was supposed to drink. At the same time, they snatched from her the wine in the shot glasses.

Everyone was shocked at what they did. They did not fully expect that they would simultaneously seize the wine that Pershey was going to drink. They also didn't quite think so, after they snatched the wine from Pershey, they immediately drank it together.

Everyone are confused especially Pershey. She couldn’t understand how her heart felt in these moments. She could not explain.

They also drank water at the same time as their lips frowned after drinking the wine.

They both never thought they would be together and they would both do.

"Nice, gentlemen," Iries complimented and applauded softly.

They were almost all amazed at what Caleb and Neil had done.

"W-w-w-why did you drink?" Pershey asked them. She looked at Caleb first. Caleb's sweet smile just answered her question, so she looked at Neil who was currently busy typing on her cellphone.

She was just looking at Neil while Neil was not looking at her and he was looking at his cellphone.

"W-w-why are you drinking?" she asked her but Neil didn't seem to hear her.

"You have saviors," said Iries, still smiling. She could not answer. "Okay, let's proceed again."

Iries was already holding the bottle and she was ready to spin it. She first looked into the eyes of her colleagues before she spun the bottle.

As the bottle spun, Pershey's mind also spun. Pershey can't forget what happened recently. She could not understand why they drank the wine she was supposed to drink. That wasn't the only thing that bothered her. She wonders even more why Neil did the same.

The bottle stopped opposite Leighden and Draek. Draek will ask the question and Leighden will answer.

He thought for a moment about what to ask her.

Her lips were smiling as she waited for what he would say.

While Draek was thinking of what to ask, Pershey was still the same. She was still deep in thought. Caleb is slightly blinded by the effect of alcohol on him. Neil, on the other hand, struggles with drowsiness. He was constantly scrolling on Facebook.

"Ask her before your time runs out."

"This is my sincere question," he began. Leighden suddenly smiled and almost laughed. He smiled sweetly at first as if he was about to swallow the sweetness.

Everyone is excited about the question he would ask to Leighden.
