Chapter 72: Chapter 72

Chapter 72

There are still 30 minutes to practice, so I tried the proper but unique way of walking. I need good posture every time I stop ramming on stage. I'm wearing 3 inches heels, so I'm a bit quick to walk like a model even though I'm wearing a traditional gown a bit heavy.

While I was practicing I noticed Sansa and Aliha. They looked straight at me and noticed their whispers but I just ignored them and focused on walking.

While I was busy with what I was doing, Mommy Yuna came back to my mind. I remember when she walked as if on a rampage. It looks like she's walking like a model. I was really shocked and amazed at her walk because she seemed to have experience in being a model. It was as if she had already jumped into the modeling industry. Was she a model then?

“Hey! Focus, Pershey,” Iries scolded me, so I suddenly woke up. I lost my concentration. I looked at her in shock as I stopped walking. “Focus yourself. Concentrate,” she said and I nodded in response.

I notice that the other candidates and others here on the back stage are staring at me, at us.

"Stop, Pershey," Iries ordered me to my slight surprise. Her reaction was marked by annoyance as she approached me. "You're not in your concentration," she said. I was speechless. I was just looking at her. “You need to walk properly but unique. As a model, you need to walk like a beauty queen, and you need a good posture,” she added while teaching me how to walk properly like a beauty queen.

"She's walking properly," Leighden insisted, so I turned my gaze to her.

"She's not focusing, Leighden," Iries insisted. “She’s out of her concentration. She needs to concentrate,” she added, adding that Leighden just nodded and didn't say another word.

"Don't worry, I will focus," I said and tried to smile at them. I was about to walk again when Sansa approached. I ignored her and so did Iries and Leighden. Her arms were crossed over her chest and her left eyebrow was raised as she watched me. I still ignored her and continued what I was doing.

"Just by ramming, you lose right away," she said, causing Iries and Leighden to look at her. I stopped because of what she said.

I noticed Leighden frown as I looked at her. She was looking at me.

I just ignored what she said even though I knew I was what she was referring to. I just took a deep breath before I resumed ramming. I tried to focus myself when she spoke again.

“Are you really sure that you really want to join pageant?” she asked as if teasing me. I just looked at her for a moment and then continued.

I need to focus, so I don’t make mistakes when the pageant starts. I don’t have to pay attention to what she says. I also don't want to hit her especially now because there is only a little time left.

“If I were you, I will quit. Just back off because you know you won't win. ”

I was not intimidated by her teasing and what she was saying. I just stood and just stared at her. Her eyes were fixed on me, still teasing.

I smiled at her to tease her and said, "Good morning, Sansa." I smiled even more which annoyed her so easily and made me smile even more.

I just smiled at her, zhe immediately frowned. I didn't even speak, she was immediately paralyzed.

I let go of a sigh along with a smile. I was about to continue practicing my proper walk, Sansa suddenly blocked her foot wearing pointed heels that I almost knocked down. Is it okay because I have balanced my body. Leighden and Iries immediately supported me. I noticed the sharp look they had on Sansa because of what she did. If I hadn’t balanced my body, I would have fallen.

I closed my eyes tightly and took a deep breath. Sansa, on the other hand, was even happier with what she did as if she was still teasing.

They looked at me and I told them in the eye not to hit Sansa. They nodded but I noticed Leighden was about to approach Sansa, so I immediately pulled her by the arm.

Sansa will also get tired of teasing me. No matter what she says or does, I won't hit her because I don't want any more trouble.

Sansa was still looking at me and there was a trace of joy in her eyes so I approached Leighden and took the fan she was holding then approached Sansa. Sansa's eyes narrowed and narrowed as she looked at me.

I didn't speak and just stared at her. I smiled at her despite her calm looks.

“Don’t be confident, Pershey. Lower your confidence, Pershey. You know you won't win,” she said teasingly to me and smiled like an evil.

I just smiled and smiled even more to annoy her. I looked into her eyes and said, "Do you know, Sansa ...?" I paused for a moment. Her forehead furrowed while I was still smiling. "I am confidently beautiful," I continued and smiled at her even more to make her angry. That is exactly what happened. “Have a peaceful morning, Sansa. Goodluck.” I added without taking my eyes off her. I opened the fan I was holding and gently patted my face. She rolled her eyes in annoyance to me and walked away. I followed her with my gaze.

She approached Aliha and whispered something. She was like a child who complained to her sister.

I almost faintly laughed at what she was doing. I also took my eyes off her and took a deep breath.

For a moment I looked away from Leighden and Iries. They smiled and I knew what those smiles meant.

I took another deep breath and tried to focus myself. I need to focus.

‘Just think positive, Pershey. You can do it! ’

"It's been 20 minutes, Pershey," Leighden reminded me. I nodded in response.

“Focus, Pershey. Try to focus, okay? ”

I nodded along with a smile to what Iries said to me. I was about to move by body to prepare myself for walking when I saw Mommy Yuna. I turned my gaze to her and so did they. I was even a little shocked and wondered why she had come.

I weakly called her name, “Mommy Yuna?” Iries and Leighden frowned at what I said. I know they are shocked and wondering why I call her Mommy Yuna instead of Nanny Yuna. They do not yet know the truth. I'll just tell them after the pageant.

I turned my attention back to Mommy Yuna. I asked her, “Why are you here?”

A sweet smile drew on her face first before she spoke, "Let me teach you, darling." I just didn't speak and let her go. To my surprise, I never asked her again. I just found out what she meant when she stood up elegantly, chest up, look straight, and then she walked as if she was a model before.

Ahh! I get it!

She's walking slowly but not so slow. Her eyes focused.

All our eyes were on her in amazement at her ability to walk, to ramp. It kept wondering if she had ever joined the pageant before. Is she a beauty queen before?

I could barely blink as I followed her slow walk until she stopped. She placed her right hand on the left side of the waist and her left hand did not rest much on her thigh. The tip of the sandals on the front of her toes was slightly pressed against the floor but the heel of her sandals was not pressed against the floor causing her thigh to rise slightly where her left hand rested.

Almost all of us were amazed at what she was doing especially now that she was smiling. My spirit was suddenly awakened by the sweetness of her smile.

She walked back to us again. Her walk seemed to slow down as if she was getting brighter.

She's amazing! I have an amazing mom!

I didn't realize that she was in front of me.

"It's your turn now," she said and smiled at us. I really didn’t understand what I was going to do. I was just really amazed. I can't imagine this! My mother is a model and she even teaches me the right walk and the proper posture. "Shall I repeat?" she asked.

I shook my head without taking my eyes off her.

"Y-y-your are so amazing, M-m-mommy."

She laughed and then said, "Do it now."

She smiled and I returned that smile. I turned my head to Leighden and Iries. They were smiling even though I knew they were confused and wondering.

The other candidates looked at us but I ignored them. I focused. I feel my self -confidence. My feet and I began to walk as if slowly, and the smile on my lips I could not remove as if there was still slow motion.

I stopped and slowly looked at them. I placed my left hand on the left side of my waist, and my right hand held the folded fan. I smiled first then I opened the fan and glanced at them while still smiling. I walked back to that again until I stopped.

They clapped loudly and softly, so my smile widened and became even sweeter.

"Good job, my angel," she softly said which was good to hear. Boosts self-confidence. "Goodluck."

I smiled even more as if there are butterflies flying in my stomach.

"Thanks, Mom."

She just hugged me slightly and then she said goodbye to leave. I nodded and still smiled. I didn't take my eyes off her until she left.

"10 minutes left, Pershey." Leighden reminded me again. I just nodded before looking at her.

"You can do it, right?"

I nodded with a smile to what Iries' asked me.

“Trust me,” I said.
