Chapter 19: Chapter 19
: Sydney Paparazzi
Chris rubbed Justin's shoulder, giving it a solid pat, for a second more till he stopped shaking and his shutters became less frequent, "you can get through this bro, you can't be chained to your past forever."
"I know, maybe I'm just not ready yet, " Justin replied his eyes glued to the piano.
"No matter what I'm here for you."
Justin looked up at him thankfully, managing to muster up a small smile, "thank you, you don't know how bad I need that," he confessed
"Well you always got me," Chris replied, his gentle concerned eyes resting on his brother, he pulled him in a brotherly embrace which they kept for a few moments only being interrupted when Bree came in.
"Oh sorry did I disturb a bro-moment?" she asked with a slight giggle, yet her voice itched in concern.
They chuckled at her world play, "its okay, everything fine" Chris replied as Justin pulled himself together.
"Then smile a little, it looks like a funeral in here," she said eying Justin's red eyes. Her brain wondering what could have happened, but spotted Chris shaking his head as if warning her not to ask.
Justin however was able to chuckle at her blunt comment which seemed to lighten up the atmosphere.
"Well boys, dinner is ready. Your father and I have something to say to you," she said smiling as she turned back to the door.
"Okay will be right down,” Chris replied
"Don’t take too long, or the food will get cold!" she called back as she left.
Chris stood up, "How about it? You okay bro?” he asked giving Justin a hand up.
Justin nodded, "yeah I'm good,” he replied taking his hand, as Chris pulled him up, throwing his arm of him as they walked down the hall way and down the stairs with one.
They found Dad and Bree already seated at the table.
"Dad have you ever been late for dinner?" Justin joked taking his seat. It seemed Mr. Ryder was always the first to arrive when it came for meals.
Robin grinned showing his teeth, "have you ever been on time?" he asked, completely dodging the question.
"Fair question," Justin chuckled the rest following behind him. They said grace and begun eating there food.
"So...” Christ began as he twirled his fork in his spaghetti, "what's this thing you wanted to tell us," he asked glancing up at Bree. The sweet spicy taste making him groan in pleasure. Recipe for a heart attack is what this meal was.
Here chuckled at his reaction before proceeding to explain, "Well boys, next week is our wedding, as you know."
"Yeah" Justin put in, "it's finally here, about time."
Here nodded grinning, "I'm very excited about this, because I will be officially Mrs. Ryder and your mother," she finished
"Which you have all our support and well wishes," Chris replied.
"Thanks dear," she replied glancing at Chris,” it also means we will be leaving for Michigan on Tuesday, so we arrive two days before the wedding,” Bree added
"Were going to Michigan?" Chris asked excited.
"Of course," Robin put in, "what did you think? My sons wouldn't attend my wedding?" he scoffed a bit offended at the idea.
"I've never been to Michigan," Justin announced, quite excited as well. He had never really been anywhere except Chicago and LA.
"It's quite cold, and lots of snow," Bree replied, "especially this time of year"
"You wanted to have your wedding in the cold?" Chris asked, "That’s a first."
Mr Ryder laughed, "I was shocked too but you’re soon to be mother claims she wants a whole white wedding, like white and surprisingly such weddings are common this time of year."
"I sure do, just imagine, white snow everywhere, everybody's dressed in white, white roses and decorations,” she sighed propping her elbow on her table to support her chin,” it will look very nice," She finished clasping her hands together.
"If that's what you really want, than we are happy. Besides it doesn't matter where you too are getting married, it only matters that you are getting married," Justin commented.
"And that you love each other," Chris added looking at Justin, making him shift uncomfortably in his seat. He knew that comment was directed at him.
"We really do right honey?" Bree said leaning in and kissing their dad on the lips,
"Right, a relationship is nothing without love," he replied returning the kiss.
Justin looked at his plate, feeling uncomfortable. He could sense Chris eyes watching him. He gritted his teeth focusing on his food.
"So you boys have to be ready, because we are going off for a vacation!" Britney exclaimed smiling, "and after that honey moon," Robin added.
"I think I'm full," Chris said as he watched Robin and Bree kiss each other. His stomach turning.
"You mean the world to me," he was saying,
"You are my world," Bree replied.
"Yeah, you two need some room, you forget Chris and I live in this world too" Justin commented standing up with his plate, Chris backed him up taking his plate with him and following Justin upstairs.
The two love birds didn't even mind, of even noticed. It seemed they were convinced they had the whole world all to themselves.
***
That night Justin kept thinking it over, what Chris had told him. It was replying in his mind not matter how much he wanted to throw it out.
He knew that Chris was right, he didn't love Lucy at all, and he was already feeling choked up whenever he was around her.
He had never really treated her like they were an item, she was always all over him, but she was a good person, Justin thought.
Yes, she was a bit possessive, but could he really blame her? I mean he was the biggest celebrity crush in the world at the moment and he had fans practically throwing themselves at him. It was logical to try and act defensive, protect what was hers, but was he hers? He never really had made any moves to make it official.
Justin tossed and turned over in his bed, What if he really decided to end things, what's the first thing that would happen? She was his assistant, she was always around him because that was her job, but if he broke up with her, it would be difficult to keep a professional relationship with her.
Plus she would feel out of place, especially when the rest of the crew found out they were no longer an item. Not that they ever were. There is no doubt she would be really hurt and he highly doubted she would ever forgive him, he would be another past to someone else.
He stood up from bed and sat down a moment, just thinking.
He walked over to his bathroom and poured water on his face, his fingers shaking as he grabbed a towel to wiped down his face, slowly looking up at the mirror above the sink, eyeing his reflection. All he could see was a monster. The monster that always stared back at him since that day. He looked away breathing out, his hands leaning against the bathroom sink.
You can't let your past change you Chris words echoed in his ears,
It wasn't your fault. You’re a good person. Robin’s words followed.
He stopped shaking, sighing in relief as the words settled in him, creating a momentary version of peace, just enough for him to head back to bed, starting at the ceiling before his vision faded into glorious sleep. His thoughts drowning him in negative possibilities of the future to come.
**
The next two days were mind blowing and hectic, with the wedding very near and the trip being planned, music and school it was one big Sham.
Justin was working on two new songs with Beats which Robin was absolutely sure were going to be hits.
Justin was in and out of interviews on radio shows, magazines, TV shows, it was just a very hectic two days.
Chris was also quite busy. Robin took him everywhere trying to teach him the business, and Justin heard he was trying out for a movie part, apparently, Chris wanted to act as well.
They hardly had time to sit down for a family dinner but that didn't bother them, they knew very soon they would be jetting off for a vacation.
One day, Justin had an afternoon off and Chris was also at home, Bree and Robin had gone out to collect Bree's wedding dress and Robin’s tux for the wedding, something about never trusting assistants on personal issues, especially if they were important.
Justin was in his bedroom just scrolling through his phone, reading texts from fellow celebrities, Sam Smith, who he had become close to, posting pics on Instagram which he had captured millions of followers.
A minute or even less after he posted he would find thousands of comments. He smiled as he read some of them. Robin had told him reading comments on his Instagram wasn't really ideal because of all of the trolls but Justin couldn't help himself.
"Hey bro, your home, " a voice said causing Justin to look up and see Chris standing by the door way.
He shrugged gazing back to the screen, "yes, just relaxing."
"Well then, I think this is the best time or the only time I'll have to tell you this seeing, seeing the next few days might be more hectic."
"Tell me what?" Justin asked pausing, his eyes curiously scanning Chris.
"I was thinking, about what you said,” Chris began.
Immediately his brother looked away with a deep sigh, focusing on his phone. He knew what Chris was going to say. The same thing he had been saying for the past two days.
"Justin I swear, I won't talk about it anymore after this. I'm really worried and I just feel compelled to tell you this,”
Justin sucked a deep breath in, tossing his phone to the side, shaking his head as he gave Chris his full attention, “Alright then, fire away."
"I know your past was difficult, and we can't change that, but you can change your future. Don't live a life you'll regret with someone you don't love. How long will you keep this up? "Chris sighed as he sat on the bed, a little closer to Justin, “I won't force you to break up with her, it's not my decision, I just don't want you to really mess yourself up anymore and my brotherly instinct is telling me, I mean I feel it deep inside me that Lucy just isn't the best for you" he said.
Justin's gaze fell to the floor, “waiting for the worst part. The guilt that followed.
"That's all I wanted to say, I promise I won't bring it up again, I just thought I'd try just one last time," he said standing up preparing to walk away.
"I will," Justin called out, before he could take another step.
Chris stopped in his tracks, and turned around, "it's not by force Justin, i don't want you to do it because you feel I forced you,”
Justin shook his head, “no, it's not that. I've thought about it, I mean I really thought about It.” he used taking a deep breath out, "You're right, I can't keep living chained to my past, I'll have to face it someday and maybe this, this, is the first step."
"Chris watched as Justin stood up and walked to him, "I want to be free, and I have to look out for me, myself first for some time, finally move on you know,"
Chris patted him on the back smiling, "I'm positive you're making the right decision, "Chris replied.
Justin smiled taking his phone, dialing down a number, it was better he did it now. “Hello baby!" Lucy said
"Hi, Lucy we need to talk,"
**
Meanwhile
Back at Lucy's apartment she was lying on her large king sized bed watching some movies on her laptop when Anna walked in.
"Hey you," Anna said jumping on the bed next to her friend, her grey mini dress clashing with Lucy's green one.
"Aren't you supposed to be working?" Lucy asked glancing over at her friend as she pulled a strand of her hair away from her face.
"I should ask you the same question," Anna replied starting at her feet.
"Justin wasn't working today so he told me to take the time off, you?"
"Mr. Ryder's wedding is coming up so he was busy and didn't need my services for today, what are watching?"
"Just a romantic movie, Me before You"
"You and romance!"
"Oh C'mon! What girl hates romance?"
"Apparently you,” Anna replied
"I just said I'm watching a romantic movie Anna, clearly I like it," Lucy responded in a duh tone.
"Well you don't have a romantic guy and you’re okay with that,” an a concluded
Lucy turned her whole attention to her friend with a fine frown, "Justin's romantic,"
"Really?" Anna asked unconvinced
"Yes really!"
"Okay then mention one romantic thing he has ever done for you during these past three weeks" Anna asked raising an eyebrow.
Lucy was quiet, trying to think back to anything. Any one thing but she drew a blank.
"Okay, how about the whole three and a half months you've been together,”
Lucy was still quiet
"Are you still going to tell me he is romantic?" Anna asked rolling her eyes.
"Whatever," Lucy said playing her movie which she had put on pause, Anna paused it again.
"What?" Lucy asked aggressively
Anna took a good look at her, watching her features,” you’re scared."
"No, I'm not,” Lucy snapped back, a little startled at the statement.
"Yes, you are."
"Oh for goodness sake Anna! Why on earth would I be scared?"
"You can't fool me, Hun. Has Justin ever told you that he loved you back, during the time you've been together?" Anna asked raising herself on her elbows as she turned, her red hair sprawled around her, "he even that he liked you?"
Lucy gulped still not saying a word,
"So he hasn't, which means he doesn't love you." Anna put in, flipping her hair back.
"Don’t jump to conclusions like that!" Lucy snapped back
"I'm just stating facts, if he hasn't told you, then he doesn't love you."
“Anna!" Lucy said sitting up, "you said yourself love is a strong word, and boys are extremely allergic to it. I'm sure it will take a little more than 3 months for him to say that word."
"Yeah well guess what? Love is also a feeling, and he is not feeling it."
"How would you know that?"
"He has never asked you out before, he has never bought you a gift, he has never even made things official,” Anna began to list, counting with her fingers.
"We are official!"
"Really? Lucy seriously don't tell me you are not seeing what I'm seeing"
"I don't know what you’re talking about!" lucky shouted slamming her laptop shut.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about! Open your eyes darling, he doesn't love you."
"Did you just come in here to tell me that?” Lucy asked her cheeks heating up to a tomato red.
"I can see you really like him, but Justin doesn't feel so much for you, “she shrugged, “maybe he just cares about you,"
"He told me he missed me,” Lucy leveled up, ready to defend herself.
"You can miss a friend Lucy,” Anna replied.
"I'm not a friend I'm his girl,”
"Did he ever ask you to be?" Anna asked.
Lucy didn't answer as she stood up,
"Look I didn't allow you to come with me To LA so you can examine my life. It was so you could support me and look out for me!" Lucy fired back angrily at her, glaring harshly at Anna.
"Whoa, cool down Lucy! I am looking out for you. I've seen the way you act around him. You are the boss of your relationship and Justin doesn't even mind," she said as she too slowly stood up "Oh girl! I just don't want you to get hurt, you’re too obsessed with Justin, and I know you when it comes to these things. Remember Jeremy?"
Lucy shut her eyes at his name, "this is different, I'm not obsessed with him, I love him."
"I know that honey, but the question is does he love you back?" Anna pressed on desperately
Lucy was breathing in hard, "Justin would never hurt me, that's not like him."
"I believe you, but if you keep on like this, you're only going to hurt yourself, "Anna replied as gently as she could this time.
Just then Lucy's phone rang and she picked it up her rage dissolving when she saw who was calling "It's Justin," she announced, calming down.
"Hello, baby" she said trying to hide the stress in her voice as much as she could as she looked at Anna.
"Hi Lucy, we need to talk," Lucy froze at his words, sensing the condensed behind them. This sudden action caused Anna to move closed her, mouthing, "what?" as Lucy blocked the mouth piece.
"He says he wants to talk," she whispered looking up at her, sensing the stressed tone in Justin's voice.
"Okay, i-is everything okay?" Lucy asked putting the phone on loud speaker,
"I'd rather I talk to you about it person,” came his blunt reply.
Anna and Lucy exchanged looks both sensing the depth of that statement” fine alright,"
"I'll meet you at the Miranda's coffee shop downtown in an hour,"
"Okay I'll be there...bye baby,"
"Bye,” Justin cut the phone call.
"Oh my god Anna!" Lucy said flinging her hands around her friend, "I can't lose him. I just can't," she repeated over and over as Anna rocked her friend, surprised at the outburst.
"You won't "she said after some time.
"Listen to me carefully and do exactly as I say,"
"He will break up with me!” Lucy panicked, “I know it, and he sounded just like Jeremy did before. Before!"
"Hush, no... He won't,"
"Didn’t you hear the way he talked to me?" Lucy questioned as her voice skipped tears filling her eyes.
"Just do what I'm telling you and everything will be okay, it will buy you time, " Anna began pulling her at arm’s length.
"Time?"
"To make him fall for you, look, here's the plan," she said and started to explain.
****
Meanwhile
Justin hang up this phone expecting to feel relived but only feeling defeated. Chris patted him on the shoulder, "Don't feel bad, you're just taking control of your life," he said.
Justin nodded, with a flat smile "I want to steer for a while,"
Chris laughed, "Make me proud," he said as he left Justin's room.
Justin grinned watching his brother walk out, then his smile faltered. He really was going through with this.
Wasn't he?
Justin sighed as he sat on his big bed, He looked at his watch and changed his clothes before heading down stairs, slipping into some dark jeans and white shirt, pairing them with all stars.
He called out to Troy (his bodyguard) who came rushing, "please prepare a car for me,"
"Yes sir," he replied leaving his presence.
Justin walked out the front door and watched as Troy and Dwayne pulled up out front.
Troy came out of the car and opened it for Justin, "sir," he acknowledged as Justin entered the black Mercedes with a slight nod, “Thank you," he replied.
"Where are we off to, sir?" Dwayne asked as Troy sat at the front seat beside him.
"Please take me to the coffee shop down town, Dwayne,"
"Okay do key sir," Dwayne replied changing gears and heading out of the villa.
The gate opened up and they were soon on the main road. Justin watched as they passed villa after villa in their neighborhood, he watched the people busy with their day to day chores as he went out of their large neighborhood.
He begun to think of what he was going to say to Lucy when he saw her.
Just thinking about it made his eyes hurt. He closed his them counting down from five, before opening his eyes.
Immediately, he saw a vision, he saw a girl, the girl.
Please sir, if w-we don't do this, that man will kill my mother.
He shook his head from side to side taking off the shades he was wearing, rubbing his eyes ferociously, he had to stop the flash backs, it was getting to him.
P-please Sir!
He could see every little detail though the shadows crossed her face. Her voice was muffled yet he knew. He saw her drop the Robe she had been covering her naked body with,
"Agh!" Justin cried out trying to throw off the images in his head.
He opened his eyes and shook his head again vigorously,
"Sir! Sir! Are you okay?" Troy asked turning around, his face full of concern. Ready to take action.
Justin looked up at him then down to his fingers which were shaking again. Troy saw them, "Sir, do you need to get some air?" Troy asked.
Justin put his hands down tucking them in his jacket. "No, I'm fine," he said slowly
"Are you positively sure you’re okay, sir?" Troy repeated
"Yes I-I'm fine," Justin replied staring at the floor, his fists clenching.
Troy studied him for a moment then turned back around.
Justin breathed out and took his hands out of his jacket, they were still shaking. He looked out of the window and kept watching the cars pass by would he really go through with this?
Lucy had already arrived at the coffee shop. She wanted to arrive before Justin so she finished up quite early.
She wore a huge jacket with a pink shirt and some nice skinny jeans with ankle boots. She wanted to look good for Justin.
If she was going to go down, she would rather go down in style.
Her makeup was nicely done by Anna and what she would say to Justin was already planned.
She wasn't planning on losing Justin any time soon, or ever.
She sat by the window at the back so she could see when Justin pulled up in the drive way.
The car stopped in front of the coffee shop and Troy came out and opened the door for Justin.
Lucy spotted then and fixed her make up for the last time.
"Sir," Troy called out but Justin was deep in thought. He had not even realized that the car had stopped moving.
"Sir!" Troy repeated.
Justin flung his head around surprised raising one eye brow, "what?"
"Your destination...." Troy replied.
Justin looked around, "oh thanks," he said coming out of the car.
He looked into the coffee shop and spotted Lucy through the window.
"Look it's Justin Star!" Some people drinking coffee said as Justin walked toward the coffee shop with Troy following closely behind.
He walked to the far end as people watched taking photos.
Justin stopped and looked around as he saw people taking photos of him,
"Please, don't take any more photos, I'm just here to enjoy a cup of coffee, don't ruin it for me” he said aloud.
People put their phones down immediately, partly surprised he had been so calm and kind. He smiled at them nodding slightly.
Now they used their eyes to take pics in their mind.
Justin reached Lucy's table and Lucy stood up to greet him by giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Troy sat a table behind them and did not allow any fans to pass to Justin.
Lucy sat facing Justin and winked to a guy behind Justin who was sneaking in a few photos of the two of them.
A waiter approached the two of them.
She was about sixteen, Troy allowed her to pass and she went towards them.
"Hello sir," she begun smiling from ear to ear, as she shook Justin's hand.
Clearly she was a fan.
"Hi," Justin replied with a small grin.
"Uh hm...” She hesitated looking like she was going to burst with excitement, "I'm so sorry, it's not every day you get to meet your idol," she said.
"It's okay," Justin replied maintaining his bright smile.
"Hum, would you like to order anything?" She asked "all on the house," she added.
"No, you don't have to be so kind I'll pay,"
"Oh no sir, it's an honor for you to just be here, we won't accept any money from you, and you are a VIP"
Justin laughed, "Thank you, Ellie," he said reading her name tag. "I think we’ll have three cups of coffee, make mine strong with no milk please. The other is for the gentle man in the back." He ordered referring to Troy.
"Coming right up sir,” Ellie replied.
"Thank you,”
She left and the other waiters swarmed around her, "he shook my hand! I'm never washing them again!" she screeched.
Lucy sent a hidden glare at the waiter who had paid no attention to her before looking back at Justin disgusted by his obvious attraction to her. She cleared her throat, plastering a smile "so how was your afternoon in baby?" she asked leaning in, her hand leisurely brushing against Justin's outstretched hand.
"It was okay, just spending times at home," Justin replied moving his hand away slowly.
Lucy noticed but was able to mask her anger, "you could have said something, and maybe we could have hang out." She eased.
"Mmm," Justin hummed in response before taking a deep breath in, here goes nothing. Then paused for a second, "I need to tell you something,"
"I figured, I need to tell you something too,” Lucy began hurriedly, her heart thumping inside her.
Justin raised an eyebrow in surprise as Ellie brought in the cup of coffee, "extra strong," she said as she placed the coffee in front of him.
"Thanks," he replied, glancing at her.
She smiled at him dreamily before Lucy cleared her throat snapping her from her daydream as she quickly walked away in embarrassment.
A scowl became prominent on Lucy's features which made Justin shift uncomfortably, "What do you want to tell me?" He asked.
"No you go first," Lucy replied trying not to come on too strong.
"If I go first I might not hear what you want to say," Justin replied slowly, choosing his words very carefully.
Lucy's heart stopped as she heard those words, “okay baby," Lucy began trying to smile as Justin flinched.
She looked behind him at the man hidden within the restaurant crowd licking her lips, so he got the message, watching him take out his camera, "well I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am to you. I'm just so thankful,"
"Thankful? What did I do?" Justin asked curiosity.
Lucy smiled sadly, "quite a lot actually, I've never told you this but both my parents died in a fatal shooting when I was fourteen. I've lived with my grandmother ever since, well that's until she got Alzheimer's disease so now she doesn't even remember me so much, " She said faking a smile and blinking away the tears from her eyes.
Justin reached out and touched her hand and held it, in a comforting way.
"I don't have anyone really, apart from you, Anna and the crew, you guys are really like a family to me," she said taking a deep breath in, "I know that sometimes I act a little obsessed and protective but I'm just so tired of losing people I guess I don't realize how demanding I can be," a tear rolled down her cheek, Justin reached out and wiped it off her soft skin. Feeling worse than ever.
Barely noticing the flash of a camera.
She breathed in faking a smile, "it's ok, " she sighed wiping away her own tears, "'m just a little emotional, " she said taking out a handkerchief and wiping the tears from her eyes carefully so it didn't mess up her makeup, "I'm a big girl, I'm OK," she finished taking both his hands in hers, "so that's all I wanted to say, you are really the best thing that has happened to me in...in a really long time. Sometimes I just spend hours wondering how I got so lucky with you. "
Justin stared at her distraught. A dark feeling settling deep within him. How could he tell her now? After all she had just confessed to him.
"Any way, “Lucy continued trying to brush away the remainder of her tears, "I don't mean to waste your time with my boring past. I just wanted to say, thank you, for well, for loving me and showing me that I'm worth something to somebody and that I'm not really alone," she said smiling,
"Uh ..." She groaned as the tears suddenly multiplied, causing her to hide her face for a moment before she could gain full composure for herself, "sorry about that, I just thought I needed to tell you," she continued as she crumpled the handkerchief in her hands and sipped her coffee, taking a deep breath out, refocusing herself
Justin gritted his teeth as he watched her. A sense of guilt spreading through him in waves, sensing his fingers tingling. He put them off the table just in case they begun to shake and took a breath in.
Lucy sipped her coffee, "So, what was it you wanted to tell me?" She asked sniffing a little.
Justin stared into her eyes which were still wet. He paused for a minute, his fingers fiddling beneath the table.
"Justin are you okay?" She asked reaching out and lightly touching his arms, looking concerned.
He was concentrated on her still debating. Lucy stood up confused and sat beside him, "Justin, what is it you wanted to say?" She asked smiling right at him, wrapping herself onto his arm.
Justin looked at her. He wasn't that heartless he thought.
He smiled "I just wanted to tell you that you are the most amazing person I've met," he said.
"Aww," Lucy said smiling, "you're so sweet and romantic. Most guys would have just texted that," she said laughing.
"Well, it’s like what you said. I had the afternoon free so I thought why not spend time with my girl,"
Lucy laughed aloud
"What, did I say something funny?” Justin asked still grinning
"No, not at all. That's just the first time you called me yours," she said leaning in and gave him a surprise kiss. "I don't know what the hell I did to deserve you," she continued, giving him another kiss.
The people that were in the coffee shop watched in envy and hooted out when they kissed. The guy Lucy had been signaling to stood up and walked toward them.
Troy blocked him, "what's wrong man, I just want to talk to Justin Star!"
"I can't let you do that bro."
"C'mon I won't hurt him, look at me. I wouldn't hurt a fly. Just wanted to ask him a few questions."
Todd kept blocking him, "okay just one, C’mon man!" But Troy kept his huge figure in his way.
"Justin!" He yelled out. He was making a fuss in the coffee shop.
Lucy and Justin turned around, Lucy smiled, "he just wants to ask a question Justin, I don't think chasing him away is necessary," she eased.
Justin frowned for a moment but nevertheless motioned to Troy to let him through and the man came closer, "h-Hello sir, I'm Sydney. I work at Holly Air," he said showing him the ID that hang around his neck.
"Okay,” Justin began glancing at the ID for a second, "what do you want?"
"I just want to ask you one question sir."
Justin looked at Lucy, who sent him a reassuring smile. He nodded, "Alright, what do you want to know?" He asked.
"I've been sitting over there for some time watching the two of you," he said recording there conversation "here at the coffee shop, it looks like you two are lovers. So I want you to answer the million dollar question on everyone's mind in here right now. Are you taken? Is this lovely lady here your girlfriend?" He asked.
The others in the coffee shop were shouting for Justin to answer.
Justin looked at Lucy, "tell the people what they want to hear," Lucy whispered.
He paused for a minute, did he have a choice? "Yes, yes she is," the coffee shop went up in a roar.
"Thank you for your time," Sydney said as he left.
He got his bag and walked out of the coffee shop. Before he left he winked at Lucy but Justin did not see it.
