TWENTY EIGHT- CONFESSION
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" I screamed loudly, making sure to let my voice echo 'round the house which got Uju and kelechi running up to my room.
Uju hissed loudly when she saw me standing in front of the vanity mirror as I made a few poses in my school uniform
" What's doing you na?" Kelechi said with a loud hiss. I turn my gaze at him with a pout
"What's doing me?"I asked
" why are you screaming up and down anyhow ?" Uju retorted.
"I just realised I've gained weight...it's worth screaming about" I replied, putting up my best puppy-look which made kelechi scowl
" ode..better do and go to school " he said,leaving the room.I frowned at his retreating figure as Uju came closer to me
" you just vexed him now..just when we thought something bad was seriously happening" she said and I sneer
" aren't you two being the best siblings now " I said with sarcasm laced in my voice as she scoffs
" that's your business...besides you gained weight since this new semester. I wonder why you're just realising that "
I gasped"are you kidding me?"
" no..I'm goating you "she retorts and I rolled my eyes at her
" that doesn't even rhyme sef "
" whatever. And hol'up..." she paused. Coming closer to the mirror, she peered closely at the makeup kit in front of me, " isn't that a nude lipstick? " she asked
I quickly snatch the lipstick from the initial position " it is..why are you asking obvious questions? "
" obvious questions???...Meera you are with my lipstick for that matter"she howled.
I rolled my eyes at her again "ehnn na..let me just use it for today "
She glared at me for sometime, before putting up a relaxing smile on her expression. Then she cleared her throat.
I knew what was coming already
" hmm..mimi..I see you ooh " she teased, wriggling her brows
Just like I thought, she didn't disappoint
I shrugged"you're not blind na.."
She smacked me across my back "shut this your sassy mouth..." she said frowning
I scowled, the frown on her face had quickly disappeared. This time it was replaced with a smirk
" so who's the guy?"she asked and I chuckled subconsciously
She tilted her head to one side as sbe continued her tease "see you smiling like what i don't understand...it's like dozie...abi what's his name again?"
" his name is dozie..what are you even trying to insinuate ?" I asked. Trying to play oblivious to what she was talking about
" ehn after he dropped you off that night you went to Osaro's party, why didn't you just tell kelechi and I that you got a boyfriend? "She asked with a huge grin
I felt my face flush with embarrassment as I quickly face-palmed myself
" he's not my boyfriend"I whined
" you wish"
" I'm serious"
" keep denying it anyway. These days you been acting all shady..I'm still watching you sha " she teased further. I quickly grab my bag
"Lemme joor. I'm going" I called out.rushing out of the room while Uju's laughter echoed 'round.

We've been learning different subjects for the past two hours now and honestly I was damn tired.right now we had the civic teacher in our class.she had been explaining the dangers of cultism to us. The talk about me being drunk in Osaro's party seemed to have died down.all thanks to sola and courtesy of dozie.
Speaking of dozie, ever since class began and Annette practically refused to allow me sit with her, ive been holding a book high beside my profile cause I still couldn't bear to see dozie.
I mean, I'm still pretty embarrassed alright.who else bolts out just like that after sharing an amazing kiss? I tried stealing a glance at dozie but quickly averted my attention to the lady standing in front of the class, when dozie seemed to turn his head towards me.
" you two! Stand up " the teacher suddenly called. I jerked, averting my gaze to her.
She seemed to peer behind me, the whole class also trailed her gaze and thankfully it landed on a guy and a girl who sat two seats away from me.
I sighed in relief. God knows, I wasn't ready for any drama today.
I subconsciously glance at dozie, just in time to catch him smirking at me.he leaned closer to my ears as he whispered
" hope you can concentrate...and wipe out that terrified look on your face " he said. I shot him a glare but his face is turned towards the teacher as though he had been diligently listening
Okay meera..not everyone had their mind trailing elsewhere
I rolled my eyes at my subconscious thought when the teacher's voice boomed again
" why have you two decided to fool around this minute. Huh?"she asked. Her voice sounded like she was pissed
" we're sorry mam'm" the girl said meekly while the boy nodded in agreement. The teacher sighed.
" so I'm teaching and you two are busy exchanging letters? "She asked. She wasn't going to let them off easily
"lemme tell y'all something...." this time, she had faced the class and that was how she launched into a speech about high school relationships
" you know, I was once like you guys.."she started "I fell in love with my high school crush, we had dreams to get married, take over the world..power couples and all that..but today, he is happily married to someone else and so am I.." she said, pausing.the whole class had their attention fixated on her now
" now don't get me wrong..I'm not saying that high school relationship is bad or a waste of time..I'm just saying that for now you need to focus on your studies, get a degree so you can get a life..and after that,any other thing can follow up " she said. Then turning to the unlucky duo
" both of you should follow me..let's call it a day for now " packing her books along with her and the duo trailing behind her, she walked out of the class.

It was time for lunch break.I walked over to were the girls and I sat during lunch.these days we almost had a crowd, considering the fact that dozie, Priye, Ayo and Adam had decided to make it their spot too.it was no bother since the guys were fun to hang out with.
It was one of those days, they were all sitted with a plate of jollof spaghetti and boiled eggs in front of them.I sat down in between Adam and dozie with my own food, still ignoring dozie though
" finally the queen is here " Priye announced with a mock bow.
I flipped my hair with sass "you should respect that title " I retort and they smirked
" so..you guys! I still don't get...you mean Meera got drunk at the party?"Sophie asked still in doubt
Annette laughed "jeez..you need to see drama that day..I was so embarrassed"
" I still have the video sef.."Priye said again and I glared at him
" don't tell me you videotaped that stuff " that was dozie
" trust me..it was too epic..I mean it's not everyday you get to see a drunk meera" Adam added and I widened my gaze at him
" Adam!! You ..of all people...God I'm so heartbroken " I faked a gasp and he snickered
" chaii you guys sha..." Ayo said, laughing so hard
" you sharrap..you know if it wasn't you that dared me to do something stupid, I wouldn't have done that " I snap at Ayo who laughed harder
" chill jare..it was just a dare..besides you should be apologising to you know" he replied wriggling his eyebrows
I face-palmed myself as dozie dipped his fork to steal my eggs, I quickly slapped his hands away
" don't steal my eggs you..you..." I trailed off making them laugh harder with dozie cocking his eyebrows at me
" reminds me of meera when she said..." Ayo mimicked "you guys know I've been robbed....let this be our lil' secret..."
Lawd..I almost died with embarrassment as the table shook more with laughter while Ayo tried mimicking my actions.
" sola..thanks for taking down that video but please do one more thing for me..help me and slap that douche beside you" I begged as she laughed
" I don't know you please"
I rolled my eyes at them "you guys are mean sha..besides priye and Ayo...I don't sound like that " I whined when the both of them kept mimicking me
Ayo snorted "oh sharrap..when you were drunk..did you even hear yourself?"
" she sounded like a dying frog " Ayo added and the laughed harder. I felt like stoning my water can at him..o knew they would do this, but I wasn't vexed
" it was kinda cute tho.." Priye said
" when did a dying frogs voice become cute?"I asked snorting
" when it came out from you" dozie replied.and that did it.I immediately smacked his head and we all laughed again
Soon the bell rang, it was time for sports..slowly everyone had gotten up from the table to go and change into their sports wear in the school locker room.
A junior boy came over to dozie."snr..coach says he wants to see you now "he said.
Dozie nodded at him in response, he threw a glance at me and moved his lips like he wanted to say something...afterwards he stopped short and made to answer coach.

The girls and I sat on the bleachers watching the guys play football against themselves. we had been playing lawn tennis too but I got tired and excused myself to take a break.luckily, the girls were also there,we have been talking about random issues. A loud cheer rang out from the field, turns out that the players had won against their opponet.i smiled subconciously at the sight dozie's teammates giving him slappy handshakes cause obviously they won. sports was almost over and slowly students were starting to dissipate
" MJ..let's go "Annette said, standing up from where she sat. I stared into the fields, I still had my gaze on dozie.he was talking to his coach while twirling a football beneath his trainers
" I'll just stay here a little longer "I said in almost a whisper, I've already told sola and sophie about the kiss.they seemed to understand though
" okay..don't just take too long, besides you two need to talk okay "Sophie said and I nodded
" and if you like kiss again " Annette replied winking while I laughed
" gladly"I blurted and immediately my hands flew swiftly to my lips whine they stared at me wide eyed
" chinsos...this is serious"sola exclaimed and Annette smirked
" thank God sha..hmmm" I laughed, shoving the trio out.
By the time they were gone, I returned my gaze to dozie.coach was no longer with him, but he still had the ball rolling beneath him.
I slowly made my way towards him."hey dozie"
He looked up at me, quite startled. Passing the ball over to me with a slight roll.
"Hey chin chin..you enjoyed the game huh?"he asked with a grin
I smiled"it wasn't that bad..what else are you good at asides being annoying?" I passed the ball back
And being a good kisser
He chuckled "is that a compliment?"he asked and we both laughed
" honestly...I came to apologize about yesterday...I shouldn't have ran off like that...I just didn't know how..to..you know..what to..." I trailed off, stuttering in between as I rambled
" hey..it's okay..I understand"dozie said. I stared at him in disbelief
" you do?..i mean..that kiss was amazing and I was just being shy and nervous...." I trailed off and inwardly graoned when I realized what I said
He smirked "what were you actually shy and nervous about?"
I gulped, feeling heat rise up to my cheeks as I looked away..
" I actually...like...like...you " I blurted.it was as though time seemed to have stood still..
This wasn't my plan at all..what the hell is wrong with me today??
I stole a quick glance at dozie. He stared at me with a stunned expression, I know what was going through his mind..
I never would have imagined I would ever admit to liking him..I never even thought it would be today..
" umm..meera..." he started saying when I quickly cut him off
" it's okay..if you don't feel the same..I understand " I said shrugging, I didn't even realize that he was standing so close to me untill he pressed his lips softly against me, sending tingles run through me.
He slowly pulled away, i felt the butterflies fluttering inside my stomach as a small smile crept up my lips. I raised my face to meet his, he was smiling widely. Not smirking but damn smiling those his gorgeous smiles and his eyes twinkled with happiness
" so...." I drawled
He entwined his fingers into my hands , still smiling as he drawled
" soooo..."
I chuckled "are we cool?"
" how about we meet up on Saturday?"he asked and i immediately felt my insides flip in excitement
" like a date?"I asked and he grinned
" obviously"
" no way!" I exclaimed.he titled his head to one side
" yes way"
I smiled "No"
" no..as in you don't want to or no you want to?" He asked with a smile
I laughed"my NO is my no."
He shrugged "then it is..i'll just have to kidnap you then " he said smirking and I laughed
" what time though?"
" 4pm.on Saturday" he replied and I scowl
" why 4? What will you be doing throughout the day?"
He smirked"see who's getting all excited"he teased and I laughed
" stop..joor.."
" i'll pick you up by four, okay? " he said and I huff
" Pftt...okay " I replied, he threw me a wink and I laughed, feeling flustered.
I was definitely looking forward to Saturday.
