TEN - TAKING SIDES
Dozie's p.o.v
I watched Meera stand up briskly from her seat.she wore an evil smile that one who could read her would already know that she was up to some kind of evil, especially when her smirk was so damn exciting. I knew she kind of wondered why we choose to seat with her this term.it was kind of suprising to see Adam choosing to seat with Meera and her friends.
I still don't get why he choosed to do that and besides Adam hates opening up, he hardly talks and anyone could easily tag him as a snub.Priye's own case was different. Priye just choose to seat with his girlfriend, to let people see that she was taken especially guys.
And me.well, Meera was my reason for seating with her..besides as much as it was surprising for me and the guys to seat with them.it was much more surprising or rather suspicious for Clara and co to seat with Meera and her friends
The both girls never got along and even though Meera couldn't see it but we all knew that Clara wouldn't just sit with Meera except when she tried getting close to Adam.who she once dated in ss1 and was still not over their break up or then, Ayo the new guy who just kept laughing and fake smiling at Clara and Angel's shrill gossips
Ayo seemed too cool though. Sola, Annette and the rest of us could tell that he was tired of listening to the girls rattle inside his ear and he needed an escape, but playing the gentle man.he still laughed dryly at how loud Clara and co was..
Soon, Meera approached holding a bottle of fanta in a dangling way.she was smiling so mischeviously as she let the content spill on Clara's uniforms.
" Oh my gosh...my precious drink " she exclaimed and I tried so hard in stifling my laughter as few gasps came out from the rest of the students
Ayo had muttered aloud " thank God. Finally "
This made Priye, Annette and I to roll into fits of laughter as sophie kept a neutral expression, while Sola looked abit nervous and Adam rolled his eyes.
Clara didn't seem to see why we were laughing and I bet she didn't even hear Ayo's exclamation because she was so engrossed in glaring at Meera who only feigned a hurt look over her spilled fanta.
" What's wrong with you? Your drink spilled on me and you don't even care!"she yelled at Meera. Attracting a good deal of attention.
Meera raised up her face to clara with a pout and still with a feigned frown.she held her hands on her chest and fake cried
" my goodness! Did my drink pour on you? What a waste..I'm so sorry..hope you don't have issues with it " she replied to a fuming Clara that seemed to steam out smoke if being an animated character.
Some people gathered chuckled at Clara's expression as she stormed off in anger together with her minions.
Meera smiled triumphantly as she faced the small crowd gathered
" show is over..you can leave now "she said and they quickly dismissed themselves. While she sat down in satisfaction
Ayo high fived Meera who grinned widely
" M.J you ehnn..thanks sha, your sassy attitude still works " Ayo said snickering as the both of them fell into small talks on how Clara was already boring him with her gist .
"At least that will teach her a lesson to stay in her lane.." she said shrugging
" well, if I didn't know those girls yet I'd say sorry for her " Annette butted in and they all started chatting about it
" Meera what you did was wrong..even if Clara is someone annoying " a calm voice said and out heads snapped to the direction of where the voice came from.
Meera shot her head up in suprise when she realized that Adam was the one who spoke up..I was suprised too.Adam never butted in people's lifestyle. I stole a glance at Meera and a look of hurt flashed in her eyes
" What's that supposed to mean?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

" What's that supposed to mean " I shot at Adam quite surprised.he raised his face at me
" i don't know but I think it's childish"he said and I quickly shot at him
" that's right you think..you should do more thinking anyway...maybe taking your girlfriend side isn't the part that is childish " I spat angrily as Adam's face morphed into a deep frown
He stood up abruptly, pushing his chair backwards " she's not my girlfriend "he muttered loud enough for me to hear before storming out..
I sighed deeply, immediately loosing my appetite.i turned to the rest of the people on the table looking at me with shocked expression
" what?"I asked scowling as dozie was the first person to speak
" Wow.." he said in a breath
" didn't know you had it in you.."
" had what?" I asked quite confused
" you just spoke to Adam that way.." he pointed out and I shrugged
" I know what way I spoke to Adam.." I was saying when he quickly stood up abruptly
" where are you going? "I asked halting his steps
He glanced back at me with a blank expression
" did you just ask me that ?"
I rolled my eyes at him.." dude...just answer I know why I asked "
He shrugged " are you missing me?"
I huffed and huffed " are you joking right now " I said in a low voice
" don't worry chin chin...don't miss me that much..i'll be in the Creative Arts room if you need me " he said winking at me before leaving
" God so help me..what have I even done today " I said face palming my self
" come M.J we have alot to talk about..you know all this small drama that happened " Ayo said snickering and I give him my middle finger in exasperation while he laughs..
He was right though. We really had a lot to talk about..I watched him leave with Priye who volunteered to lend him some of his notes before school ends..now I was left with Sola, Annette, and Sophie
" don't ask me what came over me..cause I too don't have an idea " I said
Annette broke into a fit of laughter as Sola eyed her
" What's funny now?"
" excuse you..." Annette said still laughing " didn't you hear how Meera talked back to Adam "
" as in medd ooh " sophie backtracked and I sigh
" now that guy even if I tell him I liked him, dude will just avoid me prolly thinking I'm a nut case " I said and Annette laughed again.this made Sola vex
" your own is just to be laughing anyhow " she said slapping Annette on her hair playfully
" excuse me joor lemme laugh..it's not everyday you see a case of someone retorting to her crush "
" even to the extent of telling him he doesn't think " Sophie added and they laughed again
Their laughter wasn't helping matters.i still don't even believe I said that.
" did I tell Adam that he doesn't think?"I ask and sola shoots me a ridiculous look
" NO....I'm the one that told him.wasn't it you who told him that he should think more often.." she said
" mennn....I felt like dying when Meera said that thing " sophie said making them laugh again
" it's because of that clara girl now..abi see what she caused ?"
" don't blame her sha..Adam was somehow right " Sola said and I shot her a glare
" don't start now ooh.." I said warning "Annette you see that day you saw dozie and I in class, when he ran away with my paper ?" I asked Annette and she titled her head one side as if trying to recall
" yes na..that day you bumped into Clara....you and dozie were busy talking like he was asking you out " she said and I rolled my eyes at her while Sola and Sophie look at me with bulging eyeballs
" meera and dozie???" Sophie ask as if trying to confirm something
" don't mind sandwich..we were just talking " I said
" uh huh..abi today she asked him where he was going..like she would ever do that?" Sola said winking at me
" even talking sef dozie and meera hardly even think of talking reasonably to each other " sophie said and Annette nodded her head in agreement
" as in..I was shocked that day ooh..and when I caught them. The both of them started acting like...small children caught in their plans to steal meat " Annette said making them laugh
" dozie can have reasonable conversation sha..it's Meera that is the stubborn one " Sola added and they agreed
" let them continue deceiving themselves. The day I will shake their table eehn " Annette added and they all laughed forgetting I was here
" Oshey! Analyst!!! Table shakers geng..abeg I'm still here ooh " I called snapping their attention back at him
" we know you are here..just that one day we will help you people settle your matter " Sola said and this time i laughed
" Even you sola..you have joined them" I said feigning a disappointed look
"Abegggg free me " she said again and we all laughed.and that was how I actually forgot to tell them that what clara did to me, the day I bumped into her.
