Chapter 12: Chapter 12
Run, Gabriella, run! Run as fast as those little legs can. I screamed in my head, willing myself to put as much distance to myself and those weirdos. My heart pounded fast in my chest. Adrenaline pushing me forward until I reach my house.
I hastily got my keys out and opened the door, got in, and locked it behind me. Only then was I able to relax. “Home.....safe....” I breathed out. “I hope I lost them.”
“I believe so. With my punch and how fast you ran, I doubt that he was able to follow us.”
“Hm...yeah, I did run really fast,” I said, feeling proud of myself as I laughed. Only when I heard another laugh did I realize I wasn’t alone.
With a gasp, I quickly spun and saw Aelfric standing before me. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!? How did you-" I looked back to the locked door before looking back at him. "How?!"
“You opened the door, and I got in with you.” He shrugged. "And for the record, I was waiting just outside for five minutes. Took you long enough."
Suddenly, my terror was replaced by annoyance. With a terrible crunch, I brought my foot up to his manhood without much of a warning. “Holy mother of goats!!” Aelfric winces as he slumps to the ground, shaking his....um....that....in an attempt to relieve the discomfort. "Are you attempting to deprive me of my desire to start a family?"
“If it will mean decreasing the number of weirdos/stalker/creep like you then yes!” I growled, not leaving my gaze from him I open the door. "Unless you want me to completely cut them off, then get out!" I yelled and pointed out of the door.
“Hi.”
When I heard someone talking, I turned around to see Tyrelle awkwardly waving at me. I blinked, not believing what I was seeing.
I let out a frustrated sigh at the situation. Terrific. Even this guy managed to follow me back. Now I have two weirdos knowing where I live.
“Gabriella, I need to-” He started to move forward that the action itself snap me out of my trance that my hand suddenly move automatically and slam the door to his face. “Ow! I think you broke my nose…” I heard him say.
A hand suddenly wrapped around my wrist. It was Aelfric. “He found us.” He says dramatically. “Now you have no choice but to run away with me.”
“Runaway yourself!” I stepped on his toes and pulled wrist away from him.
“Ow! Violent woman. I like that. Too bad you won't run away with a dashing guy like me.” He sighed disappointedly. “Note to self that things you read in books don't always happen in real life.” He says while making some mental notes in the air.
“Get out!” I yelled and shoved him from behind, forcing him to advance to the door, but he was leaning backward to counter me.
"Uhhh! I think I am getting a heart attack." He says and dramatically puts a hand to his forehead as if he was about to faint.
"Are you kidding me?! You are a freaking werewolf-vampire hybrid!"
"Babe, just because I am a hybrid doesn't make me unkillable." He said before he completely crushed me with his weight when he dropped to the floor.
"GET OFF OF ME, AL!!" I scream and tried to claw myself away from his crushing weight.
"LADY KILLER SMILE!!" At that moment Tyrelle chose to barge in uninvited. When he saw Al on top of me he growled and grabbed Al by the collar.
Once I felt Al's weight off of me, I got up and looked at the two freaks in front of me. Tyrelle was still holding Al in the air. His face half torn into human and wolf. Seeing the sight of him made my knees weak in fear.
Is he a hybrid like Al?
Al, on the other hand, didn't seem bothered by Tyrelle’s rage. Instead, he looked a bit bored until Tyrelle’s sharp nails pierce his shirt. Al glared at him and slapped him across the face. "This was my favorite shirt! BAD MUTT!!" Even though it looks like a regular slap to me, to Tyrelle, the force of it was like a punch as he loosened his grip on Al.
When I finally regained my voice to speak, I pushed myself off of the wall. These two can’t fight here. Not when there’s a risk of them ruining our house. I strode towards them and opened the door wide. “Will you two get the hell out of my house before-”
“Honey? Is that you?” I groaned in my hands when I heard my parents calling out for me outside. The scenario that I dreaded finally came true. My parents are here are back.
"Shit!" I glared at the two freaks and with as much strength as I can muster, I pushed them out the front door until they fell into the bushes as my mom and dad approaches. It was dark out and I hadn't turned on the lights yet so I was hoping that they haven't seen anything.
"Hey, mom. Hey dad." I greeted.
"Hey sweetie, al and....um," My mom greeted at the same time that I felt the presence of the two beside me.
I looked back and glared at them. How the hell were they able to return too quickly? "Can't you guys take a hint and leave?" I whispered.
Al only winked at me and greeted my mother and father. "Welcome home mom and dad." At that, I elbowed him in the gut.
"Go die," I whispered, which I am pretty sure that he heard me.
My dad stood beside my mother and glanced at Tyrelle with a puzzled look. "I've never seen you before, boy. May I ask for your name?"
Just when I was about to say, "No one." Tyrelle beat me to it when he stepped forward introducing himself.
"Sir, my apologies. My name is Tyrelle Gawen. I recently transferred here from New York.”
"Gawen? It sounds familiar...." Father trailed off. His brows furrowed and avoided our gaze as he lost himself in his own thoughts.
"Why would you transfer here? Is New York not to your liking?" My mother asked curiously. But still kept that friendly smile on her face as though not to intimidate him.
“Family business.” He answered briefly looking troubled for a second.
"Are you a friend of Gabriella and Aelfric?" My mom asks.
"No." Al and I said at the same time. For once, he and I agreed on something. It was a weird feeling but there’s nothing more that I want other than having these two weirdos off of our front yard.
"Unfortunately, Mrs. Bryce, I have no intention of becoming Gabriella's friend. If I may I would like to ask your permission to marry your daughter."
It was a chilly night in the middle of the year. And Tyrelle’s words seemed to have a chilling effect in the atmosphere that rendered us all speechless for a long while. I feel like we all have mixed reactions as we looked at the new kid.
My parents looked like they were about to pass out, Al looked like he was going to go on a rampage at any second, while I had the most disgusted and disturbed expression on my face.
“You know that’s not funny, right?” I broke the silence first.
"Mommy, Daddy can I have your permission to kill him?" Al suggested. The tone of voice that he used was sweet but it somehow has that killer intent at the end.
"What?" My parents looked shockingly at Al.
Tyrelle looked down at me. His face was hard and serious. “I never kid when it comes to the orders of my Alpha.”
His what? I wondered.
"Gabriella," Mom asks me. "What beauty product have you been using lately? You've got two admirers. And it was only yesterday when Aelfric asks our permission. Even I wasn't that popular."
I gapped at her. “Mom, this isn’t the time to talk about your time when you were in High School. Come on and help me chase these two away!”
Dad coughed beside her. "You were never popular." He corrected her from her previous claims.
Unfortunately for him, my mom heard him. She whirled around and face him with a menacing smile. "What did you say, darling?"
"I-I was asking Tyrelle if he would like to join us for dinner. I mean, if he wants to court our baby girl then we should at least get to know him, right?"
“Hey, what about me? Don't I get to say anything about this?” I protested. “You guys never listen!”
"I agree with you, love. No one gets to court Gabriella except me." Al stood in between Tyrelle and me. The aura that the two were currently emitting felt dangerous that I was afraid that a fight would break out between the two.
I had to stop them from saying something to each other.
"You." I pointed at Prick. "Shut up," I ordered him.
"Yes ma'am."
"Dear, I think Gabriella is right. We should consider-"
Tyrelle sighed. He looked tired as the hectic exchanged continued that he decided to step forward in order to address my father as he cut him off. "Sir, I guess that you seem to recognize my name even though I was using my mother’s maiden name. My full name is Tyrelle Gawen Gridon, son of the head and Alpha of this town - Torian Gridon."
