"Ahh....."

Suddenly they both heard a slight moan and turned towards Sarah swiftly. Sarah was trying to open her eyes but sharp light pierced in them, making her squint her eyes and with a slight moan, she tried to move her hand. Stefan and Laura both moved towards Sarah fast.

"Sarah, how are you feeling now?" Stefan asked in tension, leaning at Sarah's face.

"Ahh......." Sarah moaned again.

"Sarah, is it paining? Stefan, call the doctor fast." Laura caressed Sarah's head and asked Stefan. He nodded and pressed the bell near Sarah's sickbed.

A few minutes later the doctor with a nurse walked into the ward and asked Stefan and Laura to wait outside while she was checking Sarah up.

Stefan and Laura were waiting outside the emergency ward when Julia and Amy came to them, along with Evelyn and Ronald. On seeing them waiting outside the ward, their faces had a worried expression.

"Stefan, what's wrong, why you both are standing outside the ward?" Ronald asked earnestly.

"The doctor is checking up Sarah's health."

"How is she now, is everything alright?" Amy asked.

When Stefan mentioned that the doctor was checking Sarah, nobody had the strength to think that Sarah regains her composure. The negativity had surrounded their heads so much that everybody had a fear that something had happened to Sarah. Their face turned pale.

"Mom, don't worry, everything is alright. Just now Sarah has regained her consciousness, but since she was feeling some pain, the doctor is monitoring her condition."

The elder ladies sighed listening to Stefan's positive answer and a faint smile appeared on Ronald's face. Since the moment Sarah fell from the stairs because Ashley had pushed her, Ronald had a pang of guilt in his heart, that everything has happened because of him. Ashley's every wrong deed Ronald was accounting himself responsible. He was the one who had proposed to get married to Ashley and made her enter their life.

After sometimes the doctor walked out of the emergency ward and all of them moved towards her.

"Doctor, how is my Sarah?"

"Mrs. Sarah is out of danger now, she has a slight pain in her head, I have given her an injection to subside her pain. Right now, she is sleeping because of the effect of the medicine. We are shifting her to the normal ward, you can see her in some time."

"Mr. Stefan, although the mother and child both are safe, they both are still weak, she needs to be here under observation for a few more days after that you can take her back home. Be careful about her and her specifically her diet."

The doctor instructed them with a smile and went from there.

Everyone sighed in relief, they finally got the good news that they are waiting for since last evening.

Amy turned towards Julia, held her hand, and said, "Elder sister, now that my daughter-in-law is alright, I want to go to our family temple and offer my prayers, to thank god for his mercy on our family, how is that?" Julia nodded her head.

"Even I had vowed to go to high hill temple to offer my prayer, once Sarah regains her composure, so I also have to go," Laura said.

"Laura, I too will go with you," Evelyn said.

Stefan saw everybody and smiled. Now he also had believed in God, they all wanted to go now, to be grateful to the god for being so merciful, but he already had gone to the temple last night and thanked god.

"Alright, Amy, we both will go to our family temple, and Laura, you too go with Mrs. Evelyn, but before that, you and Stefan go home and freshen up first. Till then I and Amy are here with Sarah." Julia said.

"No, big aunt I will not go anywhere leaving Sarah, she might wake up any time." Stefan denied. He wanted to be with Sarah when she wakes up, at least he had feared she will look for him and get upset.

"Stefan, as per the doctor, Sarah is sleeping soundly and she will take at least 2 to 3 hours to wake up and don't worry, I too will be here with mom and aunt Amy, if there is an emergency I will inform you. Now you go and come back fast, before she wakes up, got it?"

Ronald not only said it with a smile but also pushed Stefan out of the corridor, being funny.

Stefan and Laura helplessly walked out of the hospital.

After around an hour, Stefan and Laura came back to the hospital and saw that Sarah had already been shifted to a private room and was still sleeping soundly.

Julia and Amy were sitting on the couch, while Evelyn was sitting beside her and caressing her head.

"Mom, how is Sarah?"

As soon as Stefan entered the room, he asked earnestly. He didn't want to miss even a single minute of being with Sarah until she is completely fine. He was already regretting having left Sarah and came back late.

"Stefan, Sarah is still sleeping, and she is as she was before. Now you sit with her, she might wake up anytime." Amy said and stood up, and Julia also stood up.

"Stefan, we are going to our family temple, and from there we will go home and send lunch to all of you. None of you need to eat the hospital's food, did you all hear me?"

"Ok, big aunt, but will you go, where is Ronald?"

Just then Ronald entered and said, "Stefan, I am here. I had gone out to attend a call.

Ronald had a gloomy face, which was not gone unnoticed by Stefan. "Is everything alright?" Stefan asked in a very low voice that only two people can hear.

Ronald didn't answer, just nodded his head and assured through his eyes, then said to Julia, "Mom, aunt Amy let's go."

Amy and Julia walked with Ronald out of the hospital.

After some time, Laura also stood up with Evelyn.

"Stefan, I also have to go to the high hill temple with my mom, you will be here alone with Sarah."

"It's alright Laura mom, be assured that I will take care of everything and let me call the driver first, he will drive you to wherever you want to go."

"I will be a little late; I have to go back home to finish some unfinished work," Laura said, but was still in deep thoughts.

"No problem, take your time. I will inform you as soon as Sarah will wake up."

"Thank you so much, my Sarah is so very lucky to have you in her life." Laura patted Stefan's shoulder and walked from there with Evelyn.

Now when everybody had gone, Stefan was left alone with Sarah. He sat beside her, looking towards her with a doting smile and caressing her head. Then slowly he started caressing her belly, and his eyes were teary.

"Baby, how are you? I know because of my recklessness you and your mom would have been in grave danger."

Stefan kissed on Sarah's belly through the white quilt and continued. "Your dad has let you down, right baby, but I promise in the future I will be a very good father, from now on and...."

"Baby, dad is not bad, he is very caring and loving. He loves both you and mom."
