Chapter 51: Chapter 51

"Ahh......"

Sarah's scream echoed in the palace. As she was about to fall, Stefan held her hand, pulled her towards him, and hugged her immediately.

"Sarah, be careful."

Stefan mumbles while rubbing Sarah's back. He was scared by the scene, which could be a big accident if he wouldn't come on time and saved Sarah, then he would lose his own life with Sarah.

Sarah's heartbeat has no bound, and her face turned pale. She was scared to death and breathing heavily.

Stefan saw Sarah's condition is not very good. He picked her in his arms and climbed the rest stairs down.

Sarah's scream already heard by everybody in the palace, Julia, Amy, and Stella also heard it when they were entering the palace and hurried their pace.

"Sarah, what's wrong?"

Trio women saw Sarah was carried by Stefan and as usual Amy reacted excitingly and the trio moved towards the couch where Stefan helped Sarah to sit.

"Stefan, what's wrong with Sarah?" Amy again asked impatiently.

"Mom, her leg has slipped on the stairs and she was about to fall. If I wasn't there and saved her in the nick of time, they couldn't have imagined the result, but she is scared."

Stefan informed others and held Sarah's cheeks in the cup of her palms and asked in concern, "Sarah, are you alright?"

Sarah sighed and nod her head. "Yes, I am alright."

Ashley also heard Sarah's scream, then Amy's excited voice when she called Sarah. Now Ashley is sure that this time her plan worked and Sarah is off from the world. Now there is no hindrance in her peaceful life with her husband.

With a joyful mood, Ashley came out of her room and climbed down the stairs. But disappointed to see Sarah absolutely fine in Stefan's arms, there is not even a scratch on her. Her mood and plan both ruined.

"Sarah dear, you should be careful, it's good that Stefan was there, and he saved you."

Everybody was caring for Sarah despite nothing happened to her as she is badly injured, this is another reason Ashley has to hate Sarah more.

Ashley's eyes were fierce red and her heart was full of resentment. Her one more plan has been failed and Sarah escaped from her trap.

"Stefan, you are at home at this hour. Why?"

Ashely changed her attitude and shows her concern towards Sarah but blend with suspicion and asked Stefan about him tentatively.

Stefan was still worried about Sarah and he was thinking about something else, that's why didn't notice Ashley's expressions.

"Yes, I have to come back for an important document related to my new project, I walked out of my study and saw Sarah was rushing towards the stairs, before I could call her she stepped on stairs on the second floor and the accident happened."

Stefan explained and everybody sighed, but Ashley smolders more and more in jealousy and resentment.

'This bitch has luck, always got saved.'

"But that's not a point, mom I think there was a trace of oil on the stairs, though my attention was on Sarah. I have seen."

Between all this Stefan didn't forget to talk about it, after all, there is a long chain of suspicion behind every single piece of evidence and he won't want to miss anything.

"How can oil be on stairs?" Amy scratched her head in confusion.

Ashley's back has stiffened, her whole body sweated and her lips tremble in fear. She has never thought that Sarah will be saved and her plan will be ruined, let alone anybody will notice the oil on the stairs.

"It's there I am not wrong." Stefan was already upset from the situation and now the suspicion of being murder plan is making him more irritable.

"Wait, let me check," Stella said.

"No, I will check."

Ashley immediately seized this opportunity and offered her help.

"No, I will check by myself," Stefan said sternly.

"Stefan, Sarah is so scared. You be with her, don't bother yourself, I will do it carefully."

Ashley was trembling like a dry leaf at the bottom of her heart. Still, she remained calm in the face and trying hard to seek the opportunity and remove the traces of the crime.

Stefan doesn't want to drag a simple matter in front of Julia, that's why he beckons Amy and she meddles between them.

"Stefan, Ashley is right you be here with Sarah. I and Ashley check the stairs carefully and if it is really oil on the stairs, then today the culprit will be punished."

Amy, post completing her words, held Ashley's wrist and pulled her climbing the stairs.

"It's really traces of oil here." Amy checked and yell from the stairs.

"Elder sister, call the butler and ask him to gather all the servants, who are so reckless, who made a mistake and didn't even clean it. This could be unimaginable dangerous."

Julia is also agreed with Amy. They called the butler and all the servants. No matter how strictly they asked, none of them accepted that they made a mistake.

When everybody denied, Julia sighed. "Let this matter go."

"No big aunt, someone is lying and I won't let culprit go. Last month I installed CCTV cameras in the entire palace, to keep watch on servants' activities, let me check and find who is lying."

Rug swept out from under Ashley's feet, she was deathly pale in fear with the thought that now everybody will come to know that she pours the oil on the floor on purpose then neither Julia will let her stay here anymore nor Stefan will let go of this matter.

"Mom, I am sorry that's my fault. A bottle of hair oil fell from my hands and broken on the stairs."

Stefan noticed Ashley's sigh when Julia said let this matter go and lied to make her confession.

"Then why didn't you tell before, and embarrassed us in front of servants."

Julia didn't get hyper but said coldly.

"I got scared seeing aunt Amy and Stefan's anger."

"People only get scared, when they do something wrong," Stella said.

"I know I disappointed you all, but believe me it was a mistake." Ashley pleaded.

"Ashley, if it was just a mistake, then why didn't you ask servants to it immediately, your mistake could be the cause of the fatal accident of Sarah or anybody."

"Ashley, I am literally fed up with your mistakes. You can't do anything without messing and to cover your mistakes you only lie and betray others. God knows what got into my head when I chose you as my daughter-in-law and Ronald married to you."

"Ashley, this is your last chance to change yourself otherwise no one else but you own will be responsible for your ruination."

Julia always gets angry and scolds Ashley, but it didn't affect her and she makes a new mistake. Now Julia didn't scold her but coldly advise her for her wellbeing and went from there.

Everybody shook their head angrily and walked from there, then Stefan shoot daggers at Ashley, picked Sarah in his arms, and moved towards his room.

Ashley's eyes brimmed with tears of humiliation.
