Parth's POV

" Dr Riya?? " I shook her and she got startled and her phone fell off her hand.

" Oh sorry, it seems that I startled you. " I said and picked up the phone from the floor. But she kept standing looking at the phone as if it would blast Any moment.

" Are you alright?? Dr Riya? " I asked and she looked at me and took the phone reluctantly from my hand.

" Oh!! Yeah... I am fine, thank you. Bye," She said and looked at me as if she wanted to ask something.

" What happened?? "

" How safe is the apartment?? "

" Absolutely safe. Why are you asking that? "

" Outsiders are not allowed in the building, right?? "

" Right! What happened to you? "

" N.nothing thanks. " She said, went to her home and closed the door.

Weird girl!! Something was intriguing about her.

Anyway, I was tired so, I went to sleep.

Riya's POV

I was talking to Dr Parth when my phone started buzzing. I saw the screen which flashed an unknown number.

Oh, God!! No!! Not again... He couldn't know, I am here... Shit!! What would I do now?? Oh, God!!!

How did he get my new number?? Does he know that I was in Chandigarh??

God, please help me... I am alone here. I was literally shaking.

Someone shook me and I got startled and the phone fell down on the floor.

But I couldn't dare to pick it up. Dr Parth apologized for startling me and picked it up. He extended it towards me but I was too scared to take it. I took the phone reluctantly but I asked him about the safety aspect of the building. He assured me and I nodded and came inside.

I shut down the phone and tried to sleep but could not... All the events that happened in the last year and all the messages and calls, I got last year from an unknown number kept me awake.

I was scared as hell... How could he get to know, I was here?? How could he get my new number?

We all had learnt to work on our own in the morning session as Dr parth was busy with some of the classes for a few days.

He had given us a list of assignments for us. He was really a very hardworking person and expected the same from us. As usual, he had given much more work to Dr Kunal than me or Disha.

I felt bad for him and helped him finish his work. He thanked me and once the work was done, he excused himself and went to have his lunch.

I also went to cafeteria where Tanvi was waiting for me. I saw that Kunal was sitting with a girl and having his lunch.

He seemed to be asking her something. All of a sudden, Dr Parth's... A friend came into the cafeteria and ordered food but the moment he saw both of them, he looked extremely angry, as at exactly the same time Dr Kunal asked her to go to the welcome party which was to happen this week. He went out cancelling his order, the girl ran after him, taking the food he ordered earlier.

Kunal looked angry as well. He finished his food with a frowning face. The lunch break was over, he saw me and we went back to our department.

" Dr Kunal, where had you gone??" Dr Parth looked very angry.

" Sir, I had gone to have food. It was lunch break. "

" I think, I instructed that you needed to finish your work before going for lunch, right? "

" Yes, sir! I finished everything before going out. "

" You finished everything?? How? Show me!! " He was surprised. Kunal presented everything to him.

Dr Parth looked annoyed instead of being happy that he finished everything before time.

Why was he being so strict with him?

" How did you finish it so fast?? Tell me!!"

" I just did that sir... "

" Tell me, or you will curse yourself later on that you lied to me. No one can finish that amount of work in less than 3 hours. So tell me. " Dr Parth was fuming but Kunal didn't tell him my name.

" Sir, I helped him. " I said.

" Why?? Who told you to do that? What is your problem?? " Dr Parth glared at me.

" Sorry, sir!! I didn't know that it was some kind of test or evaluation. I thought it was regular work... And as my work was finished, I helped him. He got almost double work than me or Disha. " I said.

" That is just too much, from next time onwards, mind your own business. Do exactly what has been told you to do. Don't strain your brain. " He said glaring at me and Kunal and stormed out.

What was his problem?? Poor Kunal! Why was he torturing Kunal??

Weirdo!! Slave driver! Arrogant!! Irritating!!

Ughh!

Parth's POV

Why did that stupid girl have to help him? I was really annoyed with her. But the patients kept coming in the second half part of the day since I had been busy in the morning and I told all of them to do their duties carefully.

Over the last few days, I noticed all the three inters minutely. Disha was an absolute professional one, she did exactly what was instructed to her. Nothing less nothing more, just like a robot, she followed every instruction to perfection.

I saw that Riya was most friendly and empathetic with the patients. She helped them to feel comfortable and calmed the nervous patients.

There was a little boy who was too scared to give any blood samples. The nurse was not able to take it. But Riya distracted the boy so nicely by telling him a fictional superhero tale that the nurse took the sample easily.

Then she helped an old lady and she kept smiling at all of them and kept working till the last minute. She was definitely a hard-working and intelligent doctor.

I was angry with her for helping Kunal but she was too simple and sweet to understand what kind of a man he was.

I noticed that Kunal was passing smiles to Riya. She smiled back politely. I was getting annoyed because today he left early because of her. I was sure, he was going to ask for her help again. He kept smiling at her and asked her to help him with a few patients and she handled them well. She was quite good at connecting with patients.

He kept smiling and being friendly with her. It seemed as if he was teasing me. I was annoyed to see him smiling at her like that.

Why are you getting annoyed?? Maybe he is smiling at her genuinely. It is good if he is smiling at her, at least he would leave Shruti alone. My inner voice asked me.

But I was sure, he would use Riya again to get his work done.

So what? Give both of them lots and lots of work. Keep them busy. Keep both of them busy. They both annoy you a lot. Let them enjoy the company of each other.

No! He is not a good man... I can't let Dr Riya come closer to him. She is my assistant and neighbour.

I needed to talk to her, I would talk to her, after the duty hours.

But once our shifts were over, Kunal said bye to the girls and especially with a smile to Riya and left after taking permission from me, I nodded.

Disha and Riya were about to leave and I was just thinking of telling her to wait when Sid came with a big smile on his face and embraced me.

" I am so happy and relieved, Parth. I am on top of the world. " He beamed.

" What happened?? " I asked him and he literally dragged me to my cabin and told me that the misunderstanding between Shruti and him was finally cleared.

" I am so happy, finally the true love won. We must celebrate this occasion. " I was so happy to see him happy that I hugged him again and said.

" Oh, I am sorry, sir... I will wait outside. " We heard a hesitant female voice. I turned to see Riya standing there with her face a bit red.

What happened to her?? Why was her face so red all of a sudden??
