Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Once it was decided that the Reans would go to the

Earth, they worked on the spacecraft Ave studiously. They

knew it could easily carry a ton so they were not worried

about the journey. But as Zo insisted, Frank should be

informed and only if he gave permission, they should go…

Listening to all their conversation was far too exciting for

the Cynig! He had travelled around the Arda but travelling

to the earth excited him so much…

He inspected the spacecraft again and again. The Reans

were busy removing the double berth as the earthlings

would not fit in to any of the berth… when Richard

travelled he was lying in the aisle and Re had to tie him to

all the berths so that he wouldn’t move … They left two as

they had decided only two of the Reans would go.

When they removed the berths, the spacecraft looked

spacious and they had to fasten few nuts and bolts to

secure the travellers.

Zo had already started off with another spacecraft which

was in the process of completion. He constructed the

second one, but not completed nor tested… so he had to

leave it!

Their Ave was a time tested spacecraft, so much ahead of

the Earth. But in the last thousand years the Reans had not

improved as their priority had been only survival… But

the freedom in the Arda made everyone of the Reans to

invent something or other everyday!

The Aatians worked willingly with the Reans,

acknowledging their superior knowledge. But the

inexhaustible fuels found in the ocean floor gave them an

upper hand when it came to the travel on the Arda!

They had never thought of going to another planet and

they had not done much research on it… They knew their

King Cynig had come from elsewhere, but now after

seeing Richard , they all believed he had come from the

Earth.

Re tried several times to connect with the Earth to Frank

and Dr. Redim but he could not reach them. The Cynig

could see Re was getting worried and asked him!

Re explained to him about the Link and how they could

pass their thoughts provided they too were trying to reach

them…

‘

I think they are so busy or it is night time, I am not able to

reach them… Usually Frank would be very alert and

would connect immediately… I have been trying to reach

him for several days now’

Cynig listened to him and an idea stuck him, ‘ You see

,

the city of Rich is surrounded by mountains , perhaps that

would be the reason … I will take you to the summit and

you can try from there… day or night, the earthling would

have the Link with him… so come let us try from there’

Zo said, ‘Eexcellent observation Cynig, Come Re let us go

and try from the summit’

The Cynig took them in his royal orb to the highest

summit and landed safely. The yellow Alpha was like a

fireball on the golden sky… the clouds were swirling all

around them and the ocean was a simmering cauldron of

liquid gold!

The most beautiful sight that anyone could think in the

Arda was not appreciated… Re was already excited as he

thought the Cynig had given the right suggestion…

Re sat on one of the boulders and started chanting Frank’s

name…

He felt the slight vibrations in the Link… he kept on

calling his name…

EARTH

Meanwhile it was late night on the Earth! Frank was lying

on his bed and thought of Christina. How Christina would

come every day and try to connect with Richard but

always failed to connect… He was worried as he had tried

and he told Redim to try … but there was nothing. Frank

tried raising Re, as he thought Re would be more attuned

to the Link… But even he did not respond…

He really wished that everything would be fine there…

Frank thought of Redim and they were planning to get

married shortly as the knowledge of Richard safe had

made Redim to come out of her depression.

On the other hand, Christina was more obsessed with

Richard than before…She usually spent three to four hours

trying to connect with Richard everyday!

She had stopped blaming everyone as she knew how

stubborn Richard could be! No one could actually change

his mind when he had decided to drop out of school!

Redim had asked her to stay in Frank’s house as she was

very fond of her… she thought every female should be

like Christina with the determined spirit!

Mary the housekeeper too was very fond of the girl so

Christina happily stayed in the same room where Richard

stayed!

Frank did not mind Christina, even though at the

beginning he was annoyed with her constant inquisitions.

But now he welcomed her as her knowledge about all the

electronic gadgets made him to admire her and asked to be

his personal assistant and she gladly accepted.

Frank was on the verge of falling asleep when he felt the

slight vibrations in the Link. He jumped up and opened all

the windows and walked through one of the picture

windows to the balcony. The cool breeze brought so many

memories of the first day he met Re… Re where are

you?… Re ...Re …

He was not sure why he thought of Re so much but he

persisted … Re’s voice clearly came to him…’Frank can

you hear me! I have news’

Frank, ‘Re I am so glad to hear! We have been trying to

reach Richard but couldn’t… How is everyone?’

Re replied, ‘Frank I have bad news… Richard fought with

some alien creatures and now in coma… we were not able

to revive him… I need to talk to Redim… it is urgent’

Frank , ‘just give me a second…I will call her in the

intercom…. But the news will upset her as you know, she

is very fond of Richard … but I am sure he would be

alright’

He ran to his room all the time talking nonstop and called

her in the intercom she came immediately on line …

He just asked her to come to his room ….the urgency in

his voice made her to run out of her suite towards

Richard’s…

Richard was talking all the time and Re could understand

that he did not want it to get disconnected!

Redim came near him and she could see the high tension

in Frank…She touched her Link and at once felt Re… Re

repeated what he said to Richard …

Redim was all professional ….her doctor instinct took

over!‘ How many days Richard has been in coma?’

How is his pulse, pressure and eye movement…’

She was puzzled because everything was normal, ‘any

blood transfusion?

Of course, blood transfusion would not be possible

because there were no humans!

She came to a conclusion!

‘Re,is it possible to take me there so that I could check

him myself. I will bring all the medications and blood for

transfusion!’

Frank was stunned but knowing Redim he was not overly

surprised.

Re felt so overwhelmed by the offer as he was hesitating

to ask her to come! He felt the humanity seen in few

humans were Godly in nature. The God the humans

worship was nothing but this humanity!

Re, ‘Thank you so much Redim… I give you my word

that you would be safe!’

Redim continued, ‘You have to make arrangements to lift

three of us… Richard’s girl friend and Frank would come

too’

Re had no choice and he was happy that Frank would be

there. So he agreed and he said it would take fifteen days

to reach there…

Redim gave lot of instructions to keep Richard

comfortable and safe. She promised that they would be

ready locking her eyes with Frank…

Frank smiled … no one could stop Redim now and he

was very proud of her decision making skill as usual!

When in crisis follow thy leader!

When they told Christina that they need to go to help

Richard, she didn’t even hesitate, ‘I want to come too’

Redim explained to her the problems they faced when

Richard disappeared, literally from the face of the Earth.

Christina said, ‘Don’t you worry about it doctor. I will

write a letter to my parents that I would be joining Richard

and not to search. I think my parents already knew that I

wouldn’t rest until I find Richard but they may miss my

support money I give out of my salary you give… But

otherwise I don’t expect any other problems from them!’

The ever practical Christina was promised that the amount

will continue.

Redim asked, ‘but you would be missed at the most for

two months and we will return if everything goes right!’

Christina just nodded her head and they have to wait for

the spacecraft to land.

They visited the site of the campsite under the mountain

and everything was left as it was! It helped as it was a

private property belonged to Frank’s father Timothy.

They just cleaned the tunnel and waited!

ARDA

It was not so easy in the Arda! Re said he would take the

spacecraft but there was a stiff resistance as the Reans did

not want Re to take any risk as he was needed. Re was

adamant … Zo volunteered and Re accepted…

Zo took the spacecraft for a test and it was in a very good

condition. Moreover he had added lot of gadgets to the

already existing ones and made it an infallible

spacecraft…

The Cynig was silently observing all the preparation and

finally he threw his bomb shell!

He wanted to go too but Re rejected it out of hand as they

could only take three adult humans as the spacecraft was

not made for large beings!

The Cynig had a perfect explanation for it. ‘ I will not be

coming back with the earthlings. I want to spend few days

on the Earth … until your return journey to take the

earthlings back… Then you can pick me and I would

understand my birth place!’

The Cynig continued, ‘ I will appoint Victon to be the next

acting Cynig , until I return…Any objections?’

Re knew he had made up his mind and it was not a sudden

decision.. He must have thought…yearned for it a long

time …

The queen empathised with him, ‘ I think he has the right

to visit the place from where he had come…. He has seen

several millenniums like me here on the Arda and his plan

sounds perfect without any flaw… so for all the sacrifices,

the least we could do is to fulfil his desire! I agree!’

Re had no choice but to agree even though Victon literally

begged the Cynig to change his mind… all knew it was a

decision taken by the Cynig and all they could do now was

bow and agree …

Zo knew he had to be administered four cylinders of the

survival kit as Richard needed five… But to be sure, he

had five survival kit ready. They had a problem when

they had to secure Richard to all the berths using magnets.

But now perfect arrangement has been made to bring

human travellers...

So it was easy to secure the Cynig in the slot and to fix

him with the survival kits’ life supporters and in induced

stupor…

Re and Zo were put on the life supporters and stupor by

Ro and he came out after checking that everything was in

perfect condition.

The spacecraft’s wings came down and the outer layer got

locked, the spacecraft lifted slowly in Maglev power and

the landing gear retracted.

The spacecraft slowly circled few times as it was on auto

manoeuvring for the set time .It was powered by MagLev

for initial few minutes before takeoff and then to particle

power to reach the speed of hundred times to that of light!

The whole of Arda’s beings were there to see the

spacecraft!

The particle power took over and in a fraction of a second

the spacecraft Ave disappeared from sight carrying two

Reans who were thousand six hundred years old and a

genetically modified human whose age was several

thousand years…It would take them exactly fifteen days

and eight hours to the Earth’s time to reach the Earth…
