Chapter 285: Chapter 285: Something big to hunt (1)- Yet another Evolution Potential

With the idea in mind, the trio kept moving forward and marking the trees. Even though they had walked straight, it was always better to take extra measures when it came to walking in a forest.

Only a minute later, Clara made Theo halt.

"I feel tremors" she stated, making Theo wonder why he didn’t.

Even the mantis was on the ground, looking down with focus.

The boar, the pup, the ape, and Chip came out of the beast space one by one.

Theo saw the soil in front of him loosen, making him get the sword out of the scabbard instantly.

Until a head popped out.

The mantis became a flash of light almost instantly, and the next thing anybody saw was the head of the crawler split from its body, which was still underground.

Theo got the kill message, making him just casually close it. He was already used to the mantis and its antics. It was nothing new.

But the next thing he knew, many more heads started popping up from the ground, one after another.

The mantis moved its forelegs up in the air with its fighting stance, making Theo grin.

"GO WILD!" he spoke out loud, making the mantis dash forward with its little legs. Yet still, it was a lot faster than it was at the start.

When the crawlers were up and speedily moving, the mantis jumped on one of them so casually.

The crawler was fast enough to open its mouth wide, showing off the countless teeth inside its mouth’s opening.

But the mantis just swiped its foreleg straight into it, and before Theo could even tell what skill it had used, the foreleg was out, and the crawler was left dead on the ground, making another notification come out.

’... Killing without using a skill... even I didn’t it could do that,’

Theo spoke and finally focused on his own fight. He started using the same strategy to pierce the heads of the crawlers without them coming too close.

There were some that popped right beneath his legs, but with a single thrust of the sword, the crawlers were done for in seconds.

Twenty minutes passed with regularly killing countless of these crawlers.

But there seemed to be no end to the madness. It was as if there were infinite crawlers in this gate.

"It’s time for that rest, Elias!" Theo spoke out loud while feeling the numbness of his arms grow worse. There was not even a single second of a break while he took care of them.

"Let’s fall back!" he spoke again and dashed back after giving the mantis a command too.

"On it!" Clara ran as fast as she could back to where they came from, and so did Elias.

When they finally reached a carving made on the tree, Theo stopped at it and looked back at the crawlers again.

The damned creatures stopped a few meters from where they were, where there seemed to be the aura of the baron starting.

Theo even saw some of them retreat into the ground, and some move back toward all the beasts that were still fighting.

"My beasts are saying they can fight a little longer, young master," Clara spoke, making Theo nod and look at Elias, who said the same thing.

Theo looked around to find his mantis but wasn’t surprised when he couldn’t find it.

Instead, he went to the bond and asked, only to get a reply through the emotions that it was busy.

"It’s the same with mine... yeah, confirmed." Theo spoke through deep breathing while he looked at all the kill messages coming to him.

"The EXP gain is a lot, but that’s only because we are taking care of a lot of them..." Elias spoke and continued, "But what we are getting from each individual of those crawlers is very inferior. If we want to reach level seven in two days, we will have to keep fighting the whole day without sleep. A five-minute break every fifteen minutes should get us adequate rest too." Elias explained, making Theo look at him.

"Maybe... we can find something stronger?" Theo asked, making Elias stop and think before shaking his head.

"The moment we step out of the baron’s aura, we are attacked by countless beasts. My apologies, but there is no way we can move past them and find something stronger," Elias spoke.

But soon his eyes seemed to flicker. Theo could tell he had realized something.

"Or... I can send Chip to check what is out there." Elias said, making Theo look at the little bird pecking at a crawler by flying up and down again and again. It was the only thing that was having a hard time fighting these creatures.

"Sending Chip could be a better idea later. It’s leveling really slowly as it’s not really a beast that is suitable for fights..." Theo muttered. "But you gotta keep focus on it at all times it’s out there, Elias. Don’t go completing your attendant duties and not keeping it safe while it’s out there."

Elias could see the seriousness behind Theo’s eyes, and he nodded. "Certainly, young master. I will send it right now and stay here to keep full focus. Meanwhile, the ape will help you with the fighting. It has been attacked by these crawlers two times now, but they are nothing more than leeches for it."

{Evolution Potential Detected}

Theo got the notification, making him smile, but he went back to the conversation with Elias and nodded.

"I found something I should deal with first. I will be checking some things in the system right now, Clara. When you’re ready, you can go fight first if you want, I will join you soon." Theo spoke, sat down near a clean surface, and opened up the bond to check who got the evolution options.

Only to be surprised once again.

"Understood," Clara said and went away, making Theo look at the screen in front of him with more and more surprise.

’Why does the Ant Queen have a new evolution potential?’ he thought with excitement and got up to go and see what they were up to inside the camp.
