Chapter 266: Chapter 266: The baroness’s reaction (1)- New evolution

[Evolution: Life-Bloom Silkworm]

[Evolution Requirement:

Consume fresh beast liver (0/1)

Consume a rare healing sprout (0/1)]

[Evolution Traits:

Lifebloom Threads (Gland): Silk releases a gentle energy that speeds up regeneration. Has the potential to heal minor wounds of beasts and tamers in minutes.

Growth Cocoon (Gland): A beast wrapped in this cocoon regenerates faster but becomes extremely hungry afterward.]

"FINALLY!!" Theo chirped in happiness in the terrarium room.

"I knew you had it in you, bastard. You just didn’t need to be a picky eater." He thought out loud and tapped the little silkworm on the body gently, which made it move ahead fast.

Theo took a sigh of relief, thinking about the silk that was already a good resource and how it would be even better now.

’There were 3 other evolution options aside from this one, but they all were so bad, nothing related to healing whatsoever.’ Theo sighed in relief. Getting a healing evolution was the main goal, and finally getting it after so many trials was satisfying, to say the least.

He could still remember how there was a venom evolution variant he got a few days ago, in which the silk would have properties of venom in it that could slowly kill anything in contact with it.

Potentially, it was a great evolution if Theo was the type to have assassination options. But this world was not that dumb.

Clothes made from venom would always be detected if checked properly. All the noble families had people who checked things that came through merchants and craftspeople before a noble got their hands on them.

Something like that could potentially only work on commoners, which Theo felt no threat from.

The other one was a flame-type variant where the silk would combust on contact with the air.

Theo saw no use for that for now, but he still noted down each and every evolution variant so that if anything ever came up and he had a need, he could just get more silkworms and evolve them into these newer evolution forms.

Now the task was to make the silkworm eat a beast’s liver, which was harder than expected.

The silkworm didn’t like consuming anything related to meat. It only ever ate insects smaller than itself if forced to do so.

With the help of the ant queen, Theo was able to forcibly feed the silkworm a grey rat’s liver slowly.

The grey rat’s liver was the only one small enough for the silkworm to actually eat fully.

Though that also took almost two days to do, as the silkworm got full too many times due to its small body.

But when it had only completed eating half of it, the requirement was complete, so this time, Theo quickly gave it an herb that had healing properties.

Even though the silkworm was completely full, it still leaped on the sprout as if its life depended on it.

It had not eaten the full thing when Theo saw both requirements getting completed.

The silkworm started acting sluggish, and soon, it wove a cocoon all around itself on the very spot it was eating, making the cocoon get stuck to the sprout.

Theo decided to focus on the ants, and over the next four days, he made 30 more ants reach level 4, which was getting easier.

The ant queen was a formidable strategist. The more it learned from Theo, the better it directed the young ones into killing bigger prey without losing their numbers.

When he looked at the silkworm after those 4 days, it had come out of that small cocoon.

There were golden spots on its body as if it was just blessed by an angel, and its size was a little bigger.

Other than that, everything about the silkworm was still the same.

Theo nodded with a smile. He had another evolved insect in the hive link now.

’Lifebloom Thread,’ Theo said to the ant queen, who in turn commanded the silkworm.

The silkworm took a few seconds to adjust, but when it did, a line of glowy silk came out of its behind, and it kept going without stopping.

’Oh no, isn’t this getting wasted?’ Theo thought as he tried to straighten the already jumbled silk right by the side of the silkworm.

’Stop.’ He gave a command that took a few seconds to reach the silkworm, and even when it got the command, it took another few seconds to stop itself for some reason.

Five minutes later, Theo got Clara to come with him into the terrarium room.

"Clara, I just evolved the silk, and it should make the regeneration a lot better. But look at what happened here." Theo spoke and showed the jumble of silk that was all stuck together.

"I know why this happened, young master. Please don’t worry about it." Clara, for the first time in days, said proudly while puffing up her chest cutely.

"Let me get something for this problem." She said before she briskly moved forward.

For a few minutes, Theo kept stretching his body to help with the soreness.

’The potion baths have stopped working at such a small age... I guess I overdid them,’ Theo thought with a frown.

The potion baths were very effective before, but with time passing and him taking two of them a day, the effects dwindled to the point they felt unusable.

There was the cream provided by Elias, but Theo could tell it had stopped working too. Nothing had the same effect anymore.

"I could get even higher-grade potions, but that would be too expensive, even for our family."

"What is it, young master?" Clara had already come back and heard Theo talking to himself, which made Theo shake his head with a smile.

Clara was so excited about what she was going to do that she didn’t realize it and went straight to the silkworm’s box with excited giggles.

"Young master, can you tell it to use the skill again?" she asked, making Theo nod.
