Chapter 265: Chapter 265: Wait, aren’t the ants growing too fast?! (2)- Evolution potential detected for the silkworm

"How are they already this big, young master? Do you think they are going to fit inside those small chambers inside the colony anymore?" Elias muttered while looking down at the ants after crouching.

It had been four days since the ants had evolved, and Theo had made sure to get them the best nutrition they could get.

And it was sunlight.

He booked a small training hall all to himself to train while also keeping the spiked evolution ants with him.

While he trained vigorously, getting hurt a lot in the process, the ants instead explored the nooks and crannies of the barren, drought-like training area.

Theo could even see a small new colony being made by them, but he quickly refuted that idea.

He needed the ants more on the land to bask in the sun rather than the ground’s inside.

But right now, in front of Theo and Elias, the spiked worker ants were unlike any ant either of them had seen.

In comparison to the other ants, they felt like a different species, which they were, but looking at all of them working together was what astonished Elias even more.

Theo moved his hand forward, and that was when the big ant got on his hand, which was a habit for most of them. They felt safe with Theo, as if he was one of them. It made him happy to have their trust increase day by day.

But they still kept a distance most of the time, as the ant queen didn’t like them disturbing Theo and crawling all around him.

Theo’s eyes glistened when he felt the weight of the ant and how it was lengthy enough to be the same length as his little finger.

"Just wait, Elias. One day, these guys will be as big as you in time." Theo spoke in a knowing smile, making a shiver go down Elias’s spine.

"Well, as long as I am your ally, I am rooting for you, young masyer." Elias muttered with an awkward smile, "I can’t seem to imagine anyone tackling hundreds of these ants if they were big enough as us..." Elias gulped. He was experiencing the start of something horrendous and exciting at the same time.

And being in the center of it all, he saw each and every step with detail, making him realize how fast things were progressing in such a short amount of time.

"I still don’t want to trust their strength individually with bigger beasts like the grey rat or the slimes. There are 9 spiked worker ants in the colony now, out of which 4 are as big as this one." Theo explained while looking at the big ant tapping its antennae on his hand.

"The 3 others will be as big as these in 3 days, and in those days, these guys will be even bigger."

Elias could see the genuine excitement and pride on Theo’s face, which couldn’t help but make him smile too.

"At what point in their growth will you make them fight bigger beasts, young master?"

Theo didn’t have to think a lot about the question before a smirk formed on his face.

"As big as they can get... Their growth right now is really fast, but I feel like it wouldn’t be like this for a long time. At one point, they will start growing slowly, and I just want to know what point in their size that will be..." he muttered.

"I hope it’s when these guys are as big as my hand... just like the mantis who can’t even sit anywhere but my shoulder anymore."

"I get it, young master. And what about Mantis’s level? Has it increased till now?" Elias asked again, making Theo sigh for the first time.

"That glutton keeps eating the boars in the forest, but they are all between levels 3 to 6, so it isn’t getting that much experience. There is still a long way before it can reach level 6."

"I figured." Elias went on to look at the ants for the time being before Theo made him go and study with the books he had procured till now.

There were many subjects all around the ones he had seen in the academy’s curriculum.

And it was not only Theo who was learning, but Elias and Clara too, which for Theo was the most important thing. His people needed to be educated enough to get into anything, and he was willing to put any amount of money into it if needed.

Both Elias and Theo were doing their thing, and so was Clara.

She was deep into the fabric-making knowledge and was now at the practical level, already with the skills needed.

Theo helped her get a bit of silk from the silkworm in the terrarium room. It was the silk hanging all around the box it was contained in.

Clara was currently doing her best to create the sturdiest of fabrics she could.

Just like that, another 10 days passed. Theo was able to learn the dodge skill as well as possible, and seeing Rhys so satisfied with it made Theo get a confidence boost in his swordsmanship skill.

Yet when he was done with the dodge skill, Rhys made him learn yet another skill which could help him with spontaneous movement in fast and experienced-level fights.

Theo could feel the level of these skills increase every few days, and the distance between him and Rhys, and in proxy, his father and Cedric, becoming farther and farther.

At the same time, Clara was successful in making the fabric they were anticipating.

Theo had already partially tamed the silkworm too. It had taken some time as the silkworm was scared by the ant queen’s domineering presence, but with Theo there to warm things up, it accepted the taming.

At that time, the silkworm was forcefully made to munch on smaller insects to help it level up and eat different types of edible things.

And just like that, Theo had found the evolution potential in the pesky little thing too.
