Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Lucian's POV

" But Nana, what use would it be to find her? And how exactly am I going to do that? I am just so confused" I rubbed my forehead vigorously.

Nana immediately grabbed a seat next to me.

Yes, Nana was a bit aged but she was still very beautiful and smart, and that was the only reason I managed to escape many problems in the end. I just hope this problem has a solution like the rest.

"Don't ask me how. You have a lot of connections, you have no choice but to use them.

Because, she is your saving grace, if you can convince her to lie to the court. I mean, if she can convince the court that nothing happened between the both of you then I am sure the case will be dismissed. Your actual question should be, "How are you going to do this?" Nana took a deep breath.

"I will offer her some money of course" I smiled at Nana's brilliant idea.

"I am sure that would work. It would surely make your court case disappear. But, people are still going to say that she was bribed. I mean with your wealth and power, people are going to assume anything and everything humanly possible, they might even assume you threatened her life, just to save yourself.

As it stands now, you are the villian, and she is the victim. We need another way to convince the people that you are innocent." Nana's right hand flew to her head, and she used her index finger to gently scratch it.

"Nana, let them talk. I mean, I have already won the election and I don't need their support anymore" I rolled my eyes at my frustration.

"Don't say that to my dear. You are always going to need the people's support. You need more allies than foes, especially as the president" she patted her hair.

"The only way I can think of is by marrying her. That would make the people believe that I was already in a relationship with her before the whole incident began. But Nana, I do not want to get married to her, she isn't my definition of a wife. She is too weak" I folded my fist.

"But, you will have to. Lucian, life isn't about whatever you want. It's about what we have to do to get what we want. How many times do I have to tell you this? You brought this upon yourself, and you have seen that getting married to her is the only way out" She held my hand, as she spoke to me softly trying her best to convince me.

"I cannot marry her, I don't even know anything about this lady. I know she works for me and that is all, I have told you before, that I don't even want to get married to anyone, not to talk more of a lady I barely know" I forcefully took my hand away from her.

"THEN YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE R*PED HER IN THE FIRST PLACE. YOU ARE GOING TO MARRY HER WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT" Nana raised her voice at me, and I bit my lower lip, so hard that I could taste my blood.

"How am I going to convince her to marry me? It is simply not possible" I spoke in a very low tone, so I won't anger her more than she already was.

"I don't care, how you are going to do it, has nothing to do with me. All I know is that you must marry her, so you better find a way to do that before it is too late.

Havana's POV

"Thank you" I collected the glass of water from Qarinah's hand.

After I left Lucian's house, I didn't know where else to go. Even my own house didn't feel safe for me, so I thought it would be in my best interest to come to her.

"You are welcome, dear. You can stay for as long as you want" She smiled at me, she has always been the shoulder I could lean on.

I am glad not a lot of that changed, even after she went abroad for her studies.

A weird awkward silence spread across the room. We were both lost for words, but we both had a lot to say, especially Qarinah. It was written all over her face.

"I'm sorry about what happened to you. But are the rumors true though?" She managed to get herself to ask me the question she was so eager about.

"Yes," I took a deep breath.

"Then why don't you just file a case against him" She suddenly stood up from her seat in anger.

It was typical of Qarinah to get upset whenever she heard that someone had hurt her.

"Qarinah, it's not that. I mean, he has so much wealth and power it would be very easy for him to bribe his way. I do not stand a chance against him" I had a faint smile.

"That's what you think. But, one speech is all it would take to strip him of that power. The media and society are on your side, Havanna, take advantage of that" she persuaded me.

"That would ruin him forever" I was short of breath, as it hurt my heart to even think about it.

"Yes, so that next time, he would not victimize someone else without thinking twice. Havanna, if you decide to forgive him and let him go now, then believe me he will hurt someone else, the way he hurt you." she kept on insisting. But, I simply didn't want to do it.

"He is a monster, and he deserves it. '' She sat closer to me, making gentle strokes on my hair.

"No, he is not a monster. He is not what the media and everyone is describing him as right now. Yes, he made a mistake but he is a nice person" I defended Lucian for some reason.

"A nice person that goes about r*ping his female employees?" She raised an eyebrow.

"He doesn't do that, and stop saying the word r*pe so often" I pressed my lips.

"Why are you defending him so much?..." She asked me with folded hands and suddenly gasped.

"Don't tell me that you are in love with him?" She asked me such a silly question.

"You are just too much Qarinah" I nodded my head sideways and walked away from her.
