Chapter 18: Chapter 18
Lucian's POV
"You are no longer Havana Miran, you are now Havana Lucian. Hence, your name has now been linked to mine.
Anything you do, be it good or bad, it has an impact on me" I scolded her, I couldn't hold back my anger anymore. Because it seemed to me as if she still didn't know that what she did was wrong.
"I don't get you. Are you upset because it was at a cheap club or because I was disgracing myself?.
Or because I was about to drag your name in the mud, as you said" She asked me such a ridiculous question.
"Do you think I am joking with you huh?" I grabbed her by the elbow, unable to control my anger towards her.
I couldn't be blamed, but each time you try to get out of trouble with this girl, she keeps getting into more trouble.
"You are married to me. And because of that, your name is now tied to mine. So, from now on anything you do, my name will surely be dragged into it, whether I like it or not"I repeated my words, shaking her roughly.
"You are hurting me Lucian" she cried out, with drops of tears running down her eyes.
Maybe, this was the best way to handle her, since she doesn't appreciate me being nice to her.
"You are also hurting me. Is it because I am not crying?" I asked rhetorically.
"All you do is worry about your image, what about me? I was almost attacked. You only know how to worry about yourself alone, I know I am just your contracted wife, but you can at least think about me sometimes.
I mean, after you saved me from those people. Did you even care to see if they had inflicted any injury on me before you showed up?." she said, in between her tears.
"No, I didn't. Because, if truly they harmed you, then you surely deserve it. If you had stayed at home, like every other normal wife, then you wouldn't be in trouble.
But you chose to do otherwise, so can you give me a valid reason why I would have to sympathize with you? When you made a mistake" I questioned, She became silent.
"I thought as much. Now get out of my room" I released my grip on her, as I sent her away.
She walked away, wiping her tears with the back of her palm.
"If you like, go and create more trouble for yourself" I warned her, just when she was about to cross the door.
She turned back to look at me with tears all over her eyes, as she held her stomach, covered her face, and ran out of my room. These tears of hers, were just crocodile tears.
Because, if they are really sincere, then she wouldn't go about causing more trouble for herself and me, just after I had just gotten out of one.
Clenching my fist, while I grinded my teeth, struggling to calm down. I angrily picked up my laptop and smashed it to the ground. "There is no way I am going to let her drive me crazy," I murmured, digging my fingers into my hair.
Havana's POV
I cried my way out of Lucian's room and bumped into Nana.
"Havana" she called out to me, I didn't respond as I continued to make my way out of the house. Not because I didn't want to but because I didn't know how to.
I was lucky enough to meet Stephanie while she was just getting into her car. And without thinking twice, I rushed towards her.
"Are you okay?" She asked me, and I shook my head as a no.
I was crying so hard that I wasn't able to speak, I didn't have the strength to say anything to her. What was I going to tell her, that my husband had just scolded me as if I was his worst enemy?
I know he doesn't love me, but there is honestly no reason for him to speak to me the way he just did, I went to a club, and I didn't k*ll anyone.
I didn't go there to cheat on him, I went there to get him out of my head. And now he is just stuck in my head.
"Let's go to your house" I pleaded with her to get into the car.
She saw my condition and immediately agreed.
The drive to her house was a silent one, but I just kept letting hot tears fall from my eyes, while I wiped them with the back of my palm.
She just kept staring at me, at time intervals. Then she would lick her lips, I knew she understood my pain and wanted to know what the issue was. But, I guess she also knew she needed to give me my space for the meantime.
"Here you go" she handed me a glass of very cold juice from her fridge when we got to her house.
"Stephanie, you were right about Lucian.
He truly is a monster" I cried out, this time I had run out of tears, as they refused to flow. My eyes just became extremely hot and red. It was a painful sensation.
"It's too late to be saying that now. You are already married to him" she told me the bitter truth, which almost made me spit on the floor.
Her words felt so sour in my mouth, that I wanted nothing more than for her to keep silent.
"But, in a kind of way this is my fault" she was talking, and then she took a sudden pause. It was at this point that I raised my head to look at her.
"If I didn't fall ill, then you wouldn't have married him for the money. And I couldn't even stop there, as I insisted that we went clubbing together. I am so sorry" she apologized to me, and I smiled at how she tried to take the blame for what was happening.
