Samantha was so shocked, the baby in her womb moved, expressing its shock too.
Yes he killed her and buried her, and I am going to kill him too, not just because he killed her, but because he fucked her, he broke the code, he broke my heart". He added, and she held him by the hand to plead with him.
"Please don't kill him I beg you, he is the father of my daughter, I wouldn't want anything to happen to him". Joe looked, shocked at why she should be pleading, on his behalf, after everything he did to her.
"You are a good woman Samantha, and Edward doesn't deserve someone like you. I am glad you met someone like Craig, who loves you unconditionally". He says and he was about to leave again, but then, she held him by the hand to plead some more, when Craig, who had received images from an unknown sender, walked in and found his wife holding Joe, with tears in her eyes, he thought Joe was hurting her, so he rushed him and gave him a punch on the cheek, which had an effect on his lips, and it broke. Joe didn't retaliate, he just walked away.
"Why did you do that? She asked Craig, looking at the retreating figure of Joe.
"You have tears in your eyes, and you are holding a thug". He explains, while Juliet looked with anger, the reaction she expected, isn't the one she is getting, she wanted him to get angry with her and walk away, but instead, he got angry with the wrong person, and as if that was not enough, he is checking her body for injuries.
Are you hurt? Are you okay? He kept asking, but she only placed her left hand on her forehead and sat back on the seat, while Craig took out his anger on Juliet.
"You said you wanted to go with her, and I warned you to look after her, yet you allowed some hooligan to speak to her? Juliet was so shocked she opened her mouth and spread her hands, but no word came out of her mouth, she didn't even know what to say, she wondered if she was supposed to stop an adult like Samantha from speaking with whomever she wants to speak with. She hissed then look away, thinking he would still be looking at her. And why is Craig standing up for her like that? She wonders.
What does she have that no other person has? She pressed further, within her, but he angrily walked out with her, allowing her carry all the goods alone. They even left her to find her way back to the office alone.
Back in the car, Samantha rested her head on his shoulder, she was too weak with the threat she got, that she didn't remember that she had come to the Mall with Juliet.
"What happened my love? Craig asked, she looked up at him and placed her head back, she haven't told anyone about what she really went through in the hands of Edward, she only found solace in her teaching then in the school, even though she was dying inside.
Please talk to me". He added, before she finally raised her head, and turned to face him.
"That was Joe, Edward's friend, he is going to kill Edward". She says and then started crying. Craig didn't see the reason she should be crying, but he still consoled her.
"Don't worry, I will see what I can do". He didn't want her saying much, he just wants her to rest her head on his shoulder, he had thought Joe was hurting her, but since she is crying because he threatened to kill Edward, then that is his cup of tea, and it shouldn't bother her.
They drove straight home, against going back to the office. They had been at the office, when she said she wanted to go to the City Mall to get a few things, he hadn't want to let her go alone, and since she didn't want a guard to follow her, Juliet volunteered to go with her, and somehow he felt okay to allow her go with her, he wished he hadn't allowed her go.
Craig took her straight to where he made her feel relaxed in their room, but she refused to even close her eyes.
"Remember the doctor says you should rest and not stress so much, I wouldn't want you to stress yourself by worrying about Edward, if he wants to kill him, then he is free to do that, after all, they are the ones doing shady business, and maybe one of their businesses have gone wrong and now he wants to bring you in to it? Samantha looked into his eyes, knowing fully well that he doesn't have the entire story, so she decided to pretend that she was obeying him by closing her eyes, she even started to snore, just so he could be free to leave her, but he didn't, instead he crept into the bed and rested close to her, when he felt he was sure, she had slept deeply, he gently left her, to go back to the office to finish up what he had left behind, before the call. As soon as Samantha noticed he had left, she took a car key from the drawer, went to the garage and drove one of the rose Royce out.
If Edward had confessed to what he did, then he must have also told him where he buried her, and so she decided to go there first, hoping to find Joe there. It was a long drive to the place, and the day is already giving way to the night. She knows that soon Craig would be back home, but she needed to stop Joe from killing Edward, to her surprise, when she got there, she didn't just find Joe at the spot, she found Edward being pulled by the neck with a rope.
"Joe please! She rushed out of her car. Joe looked shocked for she was the last person he expected to see at such a place, after what Craig did.
"You shouldn't be here, does Craig even know you are here? He asked, then he paused, as she moved closer to them, he asked silently.
But how did you even know where to find us? He asked, and she paused to look at the bleeding face of Edward.
"I know you will want him to bring you to where he killed and buried her and that is why I came here". She answered, and that was when Edward summoned courage to speak.
"How did you know I killed and buried her? There was no one in sight that day? He asked, which was also the same question Joe had in mind.
"That is because I followed you that night. I knew you had stopped seeing her, but she was still calling you, and when you left that night, I followed you and I saw all that happened, when you freaked out and left, I couldn't do same, I helped her to a hospital, and she was safe, but it was almost at that same time that I had the issue at the school and you filed for divorce, I was too worried about keeping my home and staying penny less that I forgot all about her". Edward was so shocked he raised his head and stared sternly at Samantha then asked again.
"You helped her to a hospital?
