Chapter 82: Chapter 82
Joe actually wanted to go and take care of business, but he couldn't, he stood outside listening to the cries and wails of Edward, as his guard is heard taking out his order. Joe closed his eyes and rest his back behind the wall, he raised his head up to send back his own tears. He may be the one punishing Edward, but what he did to him, is a worse punishment and he couldn't hold himself from crying, he still couldn't believe that he is capable of doing all he just heard him confess to.
He managed to walk into his closet, to hide his tears from his men. While alone, he broke down as he flashed back to when they were growing up, how he always protected Edward, he was always too scared of his peers and too scared to hurt anyone, which was one of the reasons he took it on himself to take care of him, because, since he was already born into a wealthy family, he was giving him financial support. He remembered a time, when he found Edward alone, after being bullied by some other rich kid too.
"Why are you here all by yourself? He asked him, but Edward was crying, and at the same time, trying to hide it from him, for he knows, he was going to get angry with him for not fighting back.
He is rich, you are rich, you should be able to fight back! He yelled at him and still got no response, though he had already started thinking of whom it would be, but he still needed a name, since almost every bully in the school is from a rich home, but since he wouldn't give him a response, he paused stared at him for a while, before he finally demanded that he tells him whom it is that had hurt him that day, and when he mentioned the name, Joe didn't wait another second, he went straight to fighting the person, to which the school authority punished him, by suspending him from school for a week for fighting. One of the reasons he was punished that way, was because the person he fought, is the son of a big shot of the school. Though Edward visited him all the time, he was glad, he felt and looked better, and was telling him that no one bullied him since he had been gone and also that he now knows that standing up for himself, would do him a lot of good.
When Joe came back to school, their bond increased and they became so fierce that no one dares come close to them again.
Whenever other students wants to ask about Edward, from Joe, they don't call him friend, they call him brother and vise versa, the idea that they are brothers now became the talk of the entire school, and they didn't try to tell them differently, they moved on like that.
Joe shook his head to snap out of his thought.
He had never cried for any reason before, not even when he lost his parents, not even when he had no one to train him in school, he had always been strong and never for once had he felt his heart so heavy that his eyes couldn't hold it anymore, but now, the feeling of betrayal is the worse of all the feelings one could possibly have, he was crying non stop, just knowing that he is too hurt that he cannot forgive his friend.
"I am sorry". He heard his silent pleases, before everywhere finally went silent. Joe got off the floor and muttered.
"I am sorry too". He got into his car, it was getting late, he decided to check on the place he claimed he buried her, even though he knows she isn't there, he just felt the urge to visit the place. He didn't go with any guard, he drove alone, as soon as he passed the City Mall, he saw Samantha
walking in with a lady behind her, he looked around, since he had no one with her, he decided to have a little chat with her, Joe just wants to clear his head and speak to as much people as possible.
He gently step into the mall, pretending to be taking something, when he gasped in shock.
"Oh Sam, it's you". She turned to look at him and then she smiles. She didn't look very pleased to see him, for he has always been against her, he never seem to like her, he would just watch and allow Edward treat her the way he pleases all those years living as his wife.
"Hi Joe". She says simply.
"Are you here alone? He asked, as if he haven't seen the person she is with.
"No, I am here with someone, she is helping me with the things".
"That is very nice of her, because for your condition, you shouldn't even be doing the shopping, I mean, Craig should get these things for you, as much as you want". Samantha stared at him, wondering if he was indirectly mocking her or something, but she looked away, and only nodded her head. Joe could already see that he was not welcomed, so he changed the topic immediately.
How is Whitney?
"She is fine". She answered simply as she started moving away to get other things, while Juliet, took the opportunity to take pictures of Samantha and Joe, thinking she could use the pictures, to get Craig to be angry with her.
"I know Edward was fucking Joan". He says and Samantha stopped, before looking around her. She had kept that secret for so long, hoping that Joe would never find out, for she fear for Edward, but now, it seems the time has elapsed.
"What do you mean? She faked, which made him smile.
"He hates you, why do you even care if I find out or not? He asked, as he could see the fear in her eyes.
"How did you find out? She asked, almost whispering.
"I ran into someone, who knows her". He answered still with the sinister smile on.
"Please don't hurt him, please I beg you". She joined her hands together to plead.
Joe looked surprised at her, he shook his head, before looking for a seat somewhere for her to sit, while he grabs another one close by to sit on.
"I don't get it, why are you pleading on his behalf. He hurt you, he would have killed you if he had gotten the chance, he cheated on you and abandoned you when you needed him the most and here you are pleading for him?
"I know, all that, but I don't hold it against him. I am done fighting him, we have both moved on, but I know, he is sorry, and he was so scared of you, yet he didn't know how to stop. I wanted to tell him many times to stop, I wanted to tell him that I know what he was doing with Joan, but I was scared too, he made me scared, and though I told him indirectly without going direct, yet he didn't listen, but then, when I stopped seeing Joan, I felt he had finally stopped". She explains, then Joe shocked her some more.."Yes he stopped, by killing her!
