Samantha didn't bother trying to pay the cab driver, because she was sure, he had already paid, but what she didn't expect was to find a bundle of dollars in the newest bag she just got from him, she shook her head at it, as she approached the office, she decided to prepare herself, as to what to say to Edward before he asks her. The driver stopped her two blocks away from the building, so she had to walk down to the office. She checked the time on her phone and it was already 10am. She was very late. He must have seen her from the CCTV cameras, because he met her half way. He looked so angry, but she could care less, she just had the best time ever with Craig.
"Why are you coming to work by this time? He yelled at her, even though she didn't know why he had to come down to yell, when he could just do it Infront of the entire staff, like he does to others, but she was grateful. Public embarrassment is something she despise a lot.
"Good morning to you too". she says with a sarcastic tone. I would have expected that as a boss, you would have called me, especially since I haven't done such a thing before, but since you asked. I will tell you. I was sick, I didn't tell anyone in the house, I had to rush to the hospital". She says, for she knows that he must have been to the house, as is his usual style, and the expected reaction was gotten.
"Oh my goodness! I should have known, I am very sorry, was it serious, are you okay now? Samantha rolled her eyes, as to how he was acting. Years ago, she would have loved him to react this way to everything, but seeing him do it now, was irritating to her.
"I am fine now. I need to get to the office, I know I have a lot waiting for me". She walked past him, but as soon as she moved passed him, the label on her dress, gave her away, it shows the dress is new, and she definitely couldn't have gotten such a dress around the country side, no one who lives in the country side, will be able to purchase such a labelled foreign dress, then he looked down, at her foot wear, it has the same name, as the one he had seen on the label on her dress. She was looking too beautiful and expensive, to have been at the hospital, so he made up his mind, to find out, what was going on.
He followed her up immediately, and soon joined her at the office.
"The investors arrived earlier, so I rescheduled with them". He started, dropping the different Files she needed to work on, then he pretended to be helping her dust her dress, giving him the chance, to pull out the label.
"This dress looks very expensive, and pretty on you". He complimented, after he had safely hidden the label, and she just answered simply. "Thanks". All she wants is for him to leave her sight, and after explaining other things to her, he left, and she released a sigh of relief.
Edward went back to his office, and kept looking at the label. He would not have cared what she does with her life, but he was falling for her again, and he wants her back sincerely now. he wants them to be a family, not just to hide his bad business, but to give him a chance to love her the right way.
He was having serious difficulty believing that she went to the hospital. There is only one hospital close by, that she could have gone to, at such an hour, that is actually the one she attends, so he called their hot line, only to be told that she didn't check in that day, then he called the line on the dress, which indicates where the dress was purchased, and he was shocked to know that it was in the heart of the city, and it was delivered to the Anderson Mansion. His heart suddenly became heavy with jealousy, he couldn't explain what he just heard. Did they make up already? He asked himself, he needed concrete evidence, so he called Sandra, he wanted to know if she noticed or heard anything, and also, if her boss is already at work, but when he heard that he isn't at work, he didn't take it too serious, bosses can do that, after all, he is the CEO, but he heard from Sandra, that Craig, Seldom misses work, which added to his suspicion.
"Did you find anything? Sandra asked him, from the way he was asking her questions.
"I think he met with her last night, and she was with him, till this morning, she is just coming to work, and he isn't at work. She has a Sofia Apparel on, with a matching bag and shoe.
"A Sofia? She asked, and he nodded as if to say, she is present with him.
"If it is a Sofia, then your suspicions are true. Sofia belongs to Apple, indirectly, he got it for his cousin, she runs the place, but is accountable to the Apple". Edward was so angry, he punched his fist on the wall.
"I have made her sign a contract to work with me for at least five years, she had better not be planning what I am thinking? He says, and she smiles.
"The contract is good, we just have to swing into action". Sandra says.
"What do you have in mind, I am running out of patience". He replied, making her smile sinsiterly.
"I will get back to you". She says and ended the call, as soon as she heard his voice with the staff.
"Good morning boss". She greeted him and he replied happily. He looked so happy, which further confirms that he had actually been with her.
"Sandra, you will stop shuffling between here and Winlowtech, very soon, I think we will have someone to work there". He says.
"There are more than one million applicants for Winlowtech, but you don't seem to like any of them". She reminds him, for he was making it sound like they were looking for workers, when people are more than willing to work for him, especially since they know, the CEO, and the prize is massive.
"Oh yes! That is true, the fact is that, I don't like them, but soon, I believe someone I will like will come to stay there". He says with a broad smile, she was too angry, for she is not wanted. She didn't want to question him further, she just went back to what she was doing, even though she knows, from the look of things, why he is happy, she doesn't want to hear it.
