Chapter 57: Chapter 57

The next day, Mary had finished preparing breakfast and was done getting Whitney's things ready for school, but unlike Samantha, she wasn't out from her room yet.

"She must be very tired". She says to herself. I have to go wake her up". She added, but by the time she got to the room, she was shocked that she isn't in her room, then she thought that she must have entered the rest room to have her bathe or ease herself, but she is shocked again, that no one was there, she started calling out to her, calling her name, but there was no answer..She had to enter all the rooms in the house, but she is no where to be found. Whitney who was already at the dinner, heard her looking and calling for her mother, and she became worried, for she have also searched round the house for her. She became so worried, she refused touching her break fast, then she heard the horn of a car outside, she already knows whose car it is, she refused to go outside, but Mary did. It never crossed her mind that her mother might have been kidnapped, she was just thinking that she left for work, without saying goodbye to her, or the very least, dropping a note.

It was Edward, he had come to get Samantha, that had suddenly become his style, to pick her and drop her back at home, but seeing Mary instead of Samantha, he wondered what was going on.

"Where is Sam? He asked. At first, Mary had wanted to tell him that she was sick, but she changed her mind, for he might decide to come in and see for himself, so she decided to lie to him.

"She left early, I think she have gone to work". She says, she wanted to figure out what was going on.

As soon as Edward was gone, she went back inside, and started calling her number, luckily for her, it was ringing, and it was only a matter of time, before she will take the call.

Craig was the one who woke up at the sound of her phone ringing, and though he didn't want to wake her, he had to look into the phone, to know who was calling, it was when he saw that it was Mary, that he took the phone, to answer the call, for Samantha was sleeping calmly, he doesn't know when last she had such rest.

"Hey Mary, how is Whitney? He asked, making Mary raise a brow, she was expecting to speak with Samantha, not Craig, for she recognized his voice immediately, even though she is happy, that they are together, but she still needed to ask, after moving far away from Whitney.

"Why are you with her phone, is she okay?

"Please Mary, just take care of Whitney, she will soon be home, just know she is safe, bye". He says and ended the call, before she got the chance to ask another question.

Mary stared long at the phone, then smiles, after which, she shook her head, before taking Whitney to school.

Craig went back into the room, thinking she would still be sleeping, but she was already awake, and seated on the bed, with a very rough hair.

"Who was it? She asked, covering her body with the blanket.

"It was Mary, she was worried". He answered, and she placed her hands on her forehead, before looking back at him, and asking.

"Did you tell her you kidnapped me? She asked, making him move his lips aside to smile. He ignores her question totally

"Sam, I want to discuss something with you". He says, sitting close to her, and stretching her legs, for her, but she took back her legs and got up, ensuring her body is covered.

"Whatever you want to discuss, will have to wait, because I have to be at the office, I am already late". She says, making her way to the restroom, but he blocked her way.

What are you doing? She asked

" That is exactly what we have to talk about. You are not going back to work with Edward".

"I have to work, I need the money".

"You don't need his money. I can provide everything for you and our baby".

"There you go again. You think everything revolves around you and your money huh?

"Common Sam, don't do this. You don't need to work for him. You know why he got that company. If I had known about this baby, I would have bought the company for you". He says and she paused and asked him.

"You knew Jade wanted to sell the company?

"Yes I did. Jade is my friend". He says, looking down, and then she started to put the pieces together.

"Were you the one that asked him to increase my pay? He didn't want to lie to her any more, so he had to tell her everything truthfully.

"Yes, I was paying the other half". She opened her eyes in shock.

"Why do you keep doing things behind my back? She asked.

"I just wanted to support you. I know if I come directly, you wouldn't let me. I would have done more, but Jade thinks it would be outrageous, if your pay is crazily increased. I don't want you working with my child, look at the way you slept, you need rest, please stay with me. Winlowtech is still there for you. Be the head, pay yourself, and have Whitney come back here to stay with me, she loves it here. Please I beg you". He was literally begging with his almost teary eyes, but she couldn't, her hands were tied.

"I am sorry Craig, but Edward made me sign a contract with him. that I will work with him for at least five years before I will be able to leave, and I signed it". Craig was shocked, he opened his eyes in shock, placed his both palm on his cheek and asked rhetorically.

"Five what?

"I am sorry Craig, and he cannot know I was here, please, he has to believe that nothing is going on between us, I don't want him getting funny ideas". She says and then walked away, she had her bath, while Craig ordered for a new dress, and shoes which was delivered almost immediately. He watched her get dressed, and when she was done and ready to go, he ordered a taxi for her, putting a bundle of dollars in the hand bag that was delivered along side her dress and shoe, without her notice. He didn't say anything to her, till she was out of sight, he was sad and handicapped, that he cannot do anything, but he must do something. there fore, as soon as she was gone, he started calling all the people he knows that could help, but all he heard is that, he could only dissolve a contract, if the two parties agree to it, and if the company is no longer functioning.

The first option was impossible, but the second, is possible, and he will do everything possible to get the company to stop functioning.
