CRAIG'S POV.

With what happened to jade, and the way I responded to him, I knew he would go ahead to do what he wants to do.

He told me what his wife did, and pleaded that I get his company, to enable him pay off his debt, but with Samantha there, I didn't think I needed it, though I wanted to support him financially as a friend, and give him more time to pay off, but he thought that selling it was the best option,. I thought that if I didn't buy it, he would change his mind, and take my offer, but to my surprise, he told me he had gotten a buyer, and only after he handed over the documents, did he realize, that the buyer, is Edward.

I know that by now, Samantha must have met with him again, and sharing the same space with him, I fear that he will hurt her again, but then, she have chosen to be with Maxwell, so he should protect her.

I was tempted to send a guard there, to know how she is doing, but then again, I changed my mind, I should let her be, but that evening, I got a call from Whitney.

She never calls me, I always do the calling, because I didn't want Samantha to know,

"Are you okay? I asked, surprised that she was calling.

"Yes uncle Craig, I am fine, but I just thought I should let you know, that my Dad, is the one that dropped my mummy at home today. she says, the old boss sold his company, and that my daddy, is now the new boss, she has been turning and tossing in her bed, I am worried for her ". She sounds scared, and I became worried, but I needed to comfort her.

"She will be fine, your mother is mature enough to make her own decisions, but Incase, you notice any form of brutality, or bully from your father, do not hesitate, to let me know". I told her, and she sounded a bit happy.

"Thank you uncle Craig, I really appreciate your gesture". She says, and I ended the call, before I will say or promise something difficult for me to keep.

After her call, I was once again, tempted to call Mary, she will understand better what is going on, she will explain better to me, but just like before, I changed my mind, I just want her to be happy, and if she ever thinks of me, then I am only a call away.

Samantha's POV.

I don't know why I allowed him drive me home, I don't know why I am giving him everything he wants. He wants to see me scared, and that is exactly what I am showing.

I didn't get to speak with Maxwell, Edward warned him that he didn't want any office romance, and that he had noticed that we have something in common, so he warned him to cut everything, he even threatened him, that he will loose his job, if seen with me.

I even told him that he should know that the baby I am carrying belongs to Maxwell, and he laughed at me, telling me that, I just made the biggest mistake of my life, getting pregnant for a looser.

I know the next day at work will be hard for everyone, especially Maxwell, but I have to see him, before the next day, so I called him, I pleaded with him to come to the house, but he said he couldn't drive at that time, it was already too late, so I had to tell him what I have told Edward.

"It was so that he wouldn't think of anything silly". I told him and he yelled at me.

"Are you trying to get me fired? He exclaims, as I tried explaining to him, the reason I said that, but he only shut me up with his threat.

If he happen to ask me any questions, I will tell him the truth. He is vicious, and if he fires me, how do you expect me to take care of my family? He asked, and just before I would say something, he ended the call.

I just realized that I have never really known Maxwell, I have never been to his house, and he has always been coming to my house, and taking me out, and showing me only love, and never for once, did I ask him about his family, or anything that has to do with him.

I felt bad, that I decided that I would go home with him, and I will try to know everything about him.

The next day at work, during lunch. Edward sent me lunch, but I acted all busy, as if I was having issues with what he asked me to do, then he told me he had to go back, to the hospital, and that he won't be back, until next week, that was a relief for me, with him gone, I will have enough time to speak with Maxwell, and see him and get to know him, but Maxwell, just kept avoiding me.

When we dismissed, I tried to get him to speak with me again, but all to no avail, instead he yelled at me.

"Look Samantha, months ago, I would have loved all the attention you are giving me now, but since you didn't, I am sorry, I also don't appreciate it.

Now you want to come to my house and get to know me, while, you never cared before. Tell me, what changed? You told me you are inlove with him, and now he is here, why are you acting like you don't? He asked. "That is because I don't love him Max, he isn't the one I was talking about. How could I love a monster like Edward. forget all what he is doing, he is still a monster, he is just trying to cover up, so people don't suspect. He is a doctor, what would he be doing, with a factory like this? He just bought this company to spite me, I really need you now more than ever". I begged him, but he shook his head.

"Sorry Sam. This job is important to me, and I wouldn't want to loose it, because if I do, you cannot take care of me. He warned me before leaving, that he doesn't want to see me or hear that we are together, unless I want to resign, and I am not ready to resign yet, so I am begging you, if you ever appreciated me as your friend, stay away from me! He says, and I watch him walk away into his car, while I called a taxi, who took me home.

My days have just gotten worse. Loosing my friend, isn't part of my plans. I needed all the friends I could get.
