Samantha's POV.

It was like I was hearing double, I couldn't believe my ears, did he really say he wants me to take a break for a week? I smile, because that was the same thing Maxwell would have said, but we are not in talking terms at the moment, because of what I told him, but this break of a thing, might have something to with Maxwell, I thought, but he could not be involved, he didn't have that sort of power, and he isn't very comfortable just being around Jade, let alone, telling him about giving me a break, which means, it must be all Jade. He must have been so happy, wining the medal and getting different contracts from other big companies, that he had to tell me to take a break.

I would do a lot with this break, I will make good used of it, but first of all, I am going to have to visit the hospital, what happened the other time, should not repeat itself, because I really cannot afford to loose this job, at least not now, but then I remembered I would spend some time with Whitney, and it made me really happy, I relaxed back on the bed, preparing my mind, on how to break the news to Whitney. She had told me earlier that day, that her school would have a parent and teacher association, and they needed me to be there, but I told her it was not possible for me to be there, because I would be going to work, she had been so angry, when I told her Mary would go with her, she wanted me to be the one to take her, but now, I could take her, I could visit the hospital, and have my routine check, and so many other things. I was indeed very happy.

I was tempted to call Maxwell, but that might pass the wrong message again, but then again, no matter what had happened between us, we should still be friends, I shouldn't cut him off, so I dialed his number. It was unlike him, he didn't even bother calling to know how the conference went, I heard the ringing, hoping that he takes the call, but surprisingly, he didn't, he just ignores my call, I was very worried about him, I know he cares about me, and telling him that I don't love him the other day, might have really hurt him, I just needed to make him understand that I appreciate him a lot. I may not be in love with him, as he would have wanted, but I really, do like him as my friend, and I wouldn't want anything coming between us, as friends.

I kept calling and calling but he didn't take my call or call back, so I gave up trying, I soon allowed nature, to take charge of me, as I closed my eyes, and slept.

The next day, I was supposed to have woken up, but when I didn't, and they haven't heard my voice, I guess Whitney and Mary got worried, and they came to my room to knock.

"Mummy are you okay? I heard Whitney's tiny voice. It is true that she had been angry with me the other day, because I told her, I couldn't go with her to the school, and she didn't speak to me, but I know she cares a lot about me. I gently got down from the bed, stretched myself, then went to get the door, seeing that I was still sleeping, Mary pointed at the clock, hanging on the wall, to show me that I was already late, the expected reaction was not gotten, which made them exchange a glance between themselves, before looking back at me.

"Aren't you going to work today? Mary asked and I nodded my head, staring at them, wondering what was going on in their minds, before Mary gasped.

Ha! did they find out? She asked, and I shook my head and also signaled to her that Whitney was with us, and I didn't want her to know, and I guess she didn't, but she asked.

"Why aren't you going to work, and what did you do, that you don't want them to find out?

"Honey, I am going to the school with you for the meeting, and I will be with you for the next one week. I told you how mummy, slayed the conference, having everyone give her a stand ovation? She nodded as to say yes, before I continued. Well my love, that single win, earned mummy a week's break, and I am so happy, because I will spend time with you, and I will teach you all the stuff you want me to teach you, do you like that? I asked, with a smile. She was so happy, she jumped on my body, while I tried to get her to the side, so that she doesn't hit me on the stomach.

"Mummy, I am so happy, but you don't have to go with me immediately, the meeting will start by 12". She says, and I nodded.

"Yes I know, but I have to get to the hospital first, I am not feeling very well". I told them, and that was when she sat down on the bed, trying to check every part of my body, as if she could detect, if I am sick, just by looking round my body, I made sure, my tummy was covered with the duvet.

"I had wanted to ask you mummy, you look so fat, I mean, your face, your hip, and even your tummy. If I didn't know, I would have thought that you are pregnant". She says and I opened my eyes in shock covering my mouth with my both hands.

"What would you know about pregnancy? I asked, not wanting to answer her directly.

"My science teacher is pregnant, and day by day, you are looking like her, but I guess I am wrong, you have to be married, and with a man, to get pregnant right? She asked, and I nodded, but I needed her to go and get ready for school so I roughened her hair, pulled her close, and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Now go and get ready for school, we will leave this house together, so while I send you off to school, to visit later, I will get to the hospital, and when you get back from school, I will tell you what the doctor says". She hugged me again and ran off to her room, to get ready, while Mary stared at me questioningly.

"Are you really going to tell her? She asked, after she was sure, that she is out of sight.

"Yes I will, I guess it is time to tell her the truth. She deserves to know". I said and also started preparing, while Mary, fixed us breakfast.
