Chapter 129: Chapter 129

The wait of anticipation hung in Sandra's chest, each passing moment, amplifying the dread coiled within her.

She had made a grave decision, hoping to bury it along side with the victim, but the expected revelation of her action, remained absent.

Each phone call, every passing siren, teased the possibility of exposure, creating a hunting anxious rhythm, that played incessantly in her mind.

Seconds stretched on into minutes and minutes stretched on into hours, but the expected news have not been announced yet.

The day was just like every other day, with no special event or announcement to listen to.

She didn't want to be alone in her fears, so she called her man, to ask, inorder to know if he has heard anything, but even he sounded shocked. she had to call Doctor Bobby to explain what happened last night.

After explaining to him, he too became worried. Maybe this time, he will actually go down for it.

"You said the potion will kill her". she wanted to be sure, she heard right. Doctor Bobby hates being dragged that way, but he still had to answer.

"Did you wait to confirm she was dead? He asked and she replied that she didn't want to get caught so she didn't wait.

stressing further that the deed, happened in the night, which means, that by that time, she couldn't have found someone to help her, because the day was already dark and people had gone to their homes.

"She might have been rescued or eaten by an animal. I hear there are wild animals in that part of the area". He says. He couldn't rule out the possibility that she could have been rescued, which was why he mentioned that part.

Sandra wanted to believe in something, so she agreed that, Juliet could have possibly be eaten by a wild animal.

Though she has assigned her mind to believe what doctor Bobby have said, the silence of the unannounced news, was becoming an unbearable weight.

She had to call her hit man again, ordering him to go back to that side, to see if there is something that looks like a body that has been devoured by an animal, or something, but when she got a call back from him, the revelation that the body hadn't surfaced, or that there isn't anything to show that an animal have devoured her, brought an eerie mix of relief and haunting disbelief.

The passage of time, became relentless tormentor, every tickling second echoing the thud of Sandra's racing heart.

As hours turned to days and yet no news, her world have become a fragile illusion, teetering on the edge of the unsaid, the unspoken dread, that each knock on the door or unexpected phone call, might shatter everything. Days melted into nights, each sunrise bringing with it, a hope tinged with fear, an agonizing anticipation, that clung to her, like a shadow, refusing to be cast aside.

In the stillness of her nights, the river's gentle murmur, outside her window, seemed to whisper the secrets she dared not confront.

She had anticipated headlines, the flashing blue lights, the inevitable unraveling of her dark deed. Yet, the absence of that expected revelation, twisted her reality into an unsettling maze of uncertainty.

The weight of the unknown, pressed upon her shoulders, a relentless burden, she couldn't shake, until the unexpected truth emerged, shattering the fragile equilibrium she'd tried so desperately to maintain.

After a week of silence, she decided to take a new step, she called her man, to ensure, that he gets her all the possible information about the area, the village, what they do, and if by chance, she has been saved, and is now hiding in the home of anyone in the village.

She needed to make sure, her secret is buried with her.
