Chapter 9: Chapter 9

It was past eleven when they finally reached Elora, in front of her grandma's house. It took them one and half an hour to reach there. Liam parked the car in front of Marielle's house and before he could say anything Celeste was already out of the car. He saw her running straight in the house. He shook his head and got out of the car. They took the gifts he brought for Celeste's grandma and moved towards the entrance.

Celeste was so excited to meet her grandma that she forgot that Liam was also with her. She rang the doorbell and waited a few moments before someone opened the door. It was Asher, their neighbor's 6 years old son. She and her grandma occasionally babysitted him. His parents were both surgeons and he was an only child.

"Celeste, you?!" Asher asked, surprised. Celeste smiled brightly at him.

"Hi Asher. How are you?" Celeste asked while ruffling his hair to annoy him. She and Asher always had a sweet sour relationship. They always bickered like siblings which was adorable.

"I'm fine. Marielle didn't tell me you were coming." Just when the kid finished his sentence Marielle's voice was also heard.

"Who is it, Asher?" Marielle asked as she came out of the kitchen. She had heard the doorbell rang and knew Asher went to answer the door. When she heard voices outside after a while she came to check the guest. She was truly surprised to find that it was her beloved granddaughter she was missing for the past two weeks. She hadn't seen her properly for almost one month. It was the first time they had spent so much time without each other.

The moment Celeste saw her grandmother she threw herself at her after shouting "Grandma! I have missed you so so much." She hugged her grandma who was caught a bit unprepared tightly. Marielle hugged her after coming out of her shock. They broke their hug after a while while grinning ear to ear.

" Oh sweety! Why didn't you tell me you were coming? I could have prepared your favorite lobster and shrimp. Did you come all the way alone?" Marielle said to her granddaughter affectionately and then added the last part a bit concerned. Celeste shook her head in negative before answering.

"No. Liam's also came with me. He's outside parking the car." Suddenly Celeste realised she had left Liam outside alone. She felt a bit guilty for leaving him all alone. When she was about to say something again she heard her grandma talk.

"Oh Liam dear! Please come in. This silly girl didn't tell me you both were visiting today so this old woman was caught unprepared." Marielle said while stepping forward towards Liam with a smile.

"It's okay, Mrs Smith. How have you been recently?" Liam asked with a smile while placing the gifts on the sofa which was placed in the living room.

"I've been good. Oh please take a seat and rest. Both of you must be tired after the journey." Marielle said while gesturing to Liam to sit on the sofa. Liam nodded and took a seat on the sofa.

"And who might be this little man?" Liam said, looking at Asher who looked like a deer caught in a headlight.

"Hello. I'm Asher. Marielle and Celeste's neighbor." Asher said while forwarding his hands towards Liam for a handshake. It was clear with his expression and posture he was quite intimidated by Liam's strong aura.

"Liam, Celeste's husband." Liam replied with a smile while shaking his hands with the little boy.

"Oh! so you are the one who stole my Celeste from me. I was his boyfriend and she was supposed to marry me but you came and kidnapped her." Asher said in an angry tone while glaring at Liam. Liam looked at the child in amusement. He was a bit speechless by the child's angry accusing glare.

"I'm sorry dude. I didn't know she was your girlfriend. She never told me." Liam finally replied after a moment while his eyes were still dancing with amusement. Hearing his reply Asher turned towards Celeste with an accusing glare who was watching their interaction with a smile. Her smile turned into a frown when she heard Liam's words. She looked at him a bit startled. That guy was a cunning fox! He clearly said that in purpose to drag her in the mess.

"Why didn't you tell him that you were my girlfriend, Celeste? You didn't even hug me when you came today." Asher accused Celeste in a sad adorable tone making Celeste's heart melt.

"Aww I'm sorry Asher. I just forgot as I was really excited to visit you and grandma. Don't worry Liam might be my husband but you will always be my boyfriend. Come-on let me hug you." Celeste said in a soft tone trying to coax the angry adorable little boy. Celeste bent down and opened her arms for Asher. She was afraid he might still be upset with her. But to her surprise that child ran straight her arms and hugged her tightly. She chuckled and patted his head before breaking the hug.

"You promise?." Asher asked gelding his pinky finger towards Celeste to seal the promise she just made. With a smile Celeste entwined their pinky fingers and replied with a bright smile.

"I promise."
