Chapter 28: Chapter 28
One year later…
"Celeste! Celeste! Did you email all the documents I had told you to Mr Nedda?" Helen, Celeste's current boss asked while crossing her arms on her chest. Celeste looked up from her computer and nodded with a tired expression on her face.
"Yes, Helen. Don't worry. I have also made sure everything is done properly" She said while putting away her laptop. Helen nodded.
"Thank you. They will be coming by 11 am. I hope everything goes smoothly and please inform Philip to tidy up the CEO's office once more. I don't want any mistakes." Helen said in a commanding voice and went away. Celeste sighed exhausted.
It was the day of their new CEO's arrival. The company Celeste had joined for almost 8 months went into the verge of bankruptcy and was bought by some American company and the new CEO was joining the company that day. So everyone was really busy preparing everything.
Celeste was working for the past week nonstop and was really exhausted. She didn’t even have the time to eat her breakfast as she was in charge of making the company's sale's report of the past one year. She stayed up the whole night yesterday to finish everything.
"Celeste! Mr David is calling for you." Lana, one of Celeste's female colleagues peeked through the door and informed her. Celeste nodded and smiled at her before getting up from her seat to go to Mr David's chamber. On her way to Mr David's chamber she heard people talking about the new CEO.
It seemed like he had already arrived. The company was brought under LRR Corporation so she had yet to know the name of the New CEO and CFO. She heard they were both brothers but didn’t bother to get much more information about them.
As long as her job was the same she didn’t bother who was the boss. She didn’t like the previous CEO much. He was a cunning oldman with a tongue of a snake. Celeste shook her head to get rid of the unwanted thoughts and focused on her work.
She reached Mr David's office and knocked on the door. When she heard him calling her in she slowly opened the door and made her way inside.
"You have called me, Mr David?" She asked gently as the middle aged man looked up at her and smiled. He was the manager of the HR department and was a kind soul. He was the one who had hired her and she was grateful to him.
"Yes Celeste and how many times do I have to remind you not to call me Mr David. Call me Sebastian." He said with a scowl making Celeste chuckle.
"Oh I don't think your wife would appreciate that." She said with a smirk making Sebastian huff in annoyance. His wife once had misunderstood him and Celeste of having an affair when one day Celeste had dropped him from the office on the way to her home as they both lived in the same street. She later had apologised for the inconvenience but Celeste always loved to tease them for this because now she had a good relationship with the couple and their daughter who was a doctor and a good friend of hers.
"Stop reminding me of that you naughty girl. Anyways I need you to take the reports to the CEO's room as he's already here. And please be careful with your heart cause he's a fine young man." Sebastian said the last part with a wink making Celeste laugh out loud. She nodded.
"I will keep that in mind. Thanks for informing me. I will take my leave now. See you later." Celeste said with a smile and turned around to leave when Sebastian nodded while smiling back at her. Celeste then went directly to her desk and took out the report's file before making her way towards the CEO's office.

In the past one year, Celeste's life had completely changed. She became completely alone and had to survive the world alone while mending her broken heart.
She had resigned from her previous job, changed her phone number, changed her address and cut off her relationship with everyone from her past. She started her life from the scratch again. She moved to Ontario, applied for a new job and brought a new apartment with a dog and a cat for her. Throughout her healing process she only had herself with her. It wasn’t an easy journey. It took her almost four months to get a grip on herself. The only thing that kept her going is her promise to her grandma.
She had to be strong because her grandma was watching her. So she had to take care of herself for her. She had to let go of the things that hurt her and that's why she had completely left everything related to her previous life except Liam. She couldn’t forget him no matter how hard she tried. Honestly she didn’t want to forget him. He was a part of herself and she didn’t want to lose the beautiful memories instead she learned to accept the reality and moved on. She loved him but couldn’t have him. And that's the reality so she had to accept it in either way. She missed the Rodriguezes but didn’t dare to get in touch with them. She knew if she contacted them they would always remind her of Liam and she would be stuck there which she would never want. So it was better that way.
Lost in her own thoughts Celeste reached the CEO's office and knocked on the door. She heard a faint come in and pulled open the door and entered the room while closing the door behind. She looked down to check the files and when she noticed everything was there she looked up and put a smile on her face before greeting her new boss.
"Good morn-" Her words fell into silence as her eyes landed on the last person on the earth she had expected to see in front of her. The person was also staring at her with a shocked expression on his face. They both stared at each other in complete shock and didn’t know what to say.
"Celeste!" Liam whispered, his voice was filled with surprise.
"Liam!" Celeste also whispered while looking at his handsome face which she hadn’t seen for more than a year.
Seems like life had again brought her to the same place which she had left a year ago…
It again took only a year to turn the table. Just one simple year..
