Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Celeste woke up in the morning in a hurry. It was her first day of work yet she had overslept. But it wasn't her fault entirely. Last night was really intense and Liam didn't spare her till she was very tired. When she woke up in the morning the place beside her was already empty. Liam had already left and he didn't even bother to wake her up. She sighed and quickly got up before heading towards the washroom for a quick shower. After taking bath she came out of the washroom and quickly changed into a pair of shirt and pencil skirt. She didn't even have the time to have her breakfast as she left the house in a hurry. Liam had arranged a car and appointed a driver for her to travel.

Celeste reached her office in a meantime while she had a small conversation with the driver whose name was David. He around 40 years old and had two children. Celeste got off the car and bid bye to David before entering the office building. It wasn't any big or famous company. It was just a small company with decent reputation. She had joined the finance department as a employee. When she reached the reception area she greeted the receptionist with a smile before speaking.

"Hi. I'm Celeste Rodriguez. This is my first day here as an employee so could you please tell me where the finance department is?" Celeste finished in one go. The receptionist was a young man who smiled warmly at her.

"Hello. I'm Asher. Welcome to the Alden Corp. It's on the 7th floor. You can take the elevator. Good luck." Asher the receptionist finished with a thumbs up. Celeste nodded at him with a smile.

"Thank you." She said before moving towards the elevator. She got in the elevator and pressed the button for the 7th floor. She was nervous would be an understatement. She quickly took a deep breath to calm herself down.

"Hey! Do you mind if I seat here?" Celeste looked up from the food she was eating hearing someone's voice. It was a girl of her age. She had blonde hair and baby blue eyes with a round face making her look quite younger. Celeste smiled awkwardly when she realised she had been staring at her for a long time.

"Oh yes." She said awkwardly laughing. The girl nodded with a grin before taking a seat opposite to her. It was lunchtime and Celeste was having her lunch alone before the girl decided to join her.

"I'm Diana by the way. I saw you in The finance department. I also work in that department." Diana said with a smile and waited for Celeste to say something.

"I'm Celeste. Nice to meet you Diana. Are you also a newbie?" Celeste asked before taking a sip of her juice.

"Yes. They hired 4 newbies in the finance department. You, me, Louisa and another boy I haven't met yet." Diana informed while eating her lunch.

"Oh I see. That's great. I hope we could be good friends as I don't know anyone else here." Celeste said in a hopeful voice.

"Sure. I would love to be your friend." Diana replied with a grin making Celeste sign in relief. They talked for a while and enjoyed their lunch. Diana was originally from Vancouver. She moved in here with her boyfriend a year back and was currently living with him. Diana was also an orphan just like her but she grew up in an orphanage. Celeste's instinct told her that they were going to bond quite well in future as she really liked Diana and her positive vibes. After the lunch they headed back to their respective works not before exchanging their numbers. Celeste was happy that she made a friend on the first day of her work.

Celeste returned to home around six in the evening. The day was tiring. Her whole body was aching. Tracy was cooking the dinner and Liam wasn't back yet. She greeted Tracy with a smile before heading straight to her room to get freshen up. After getting freshened up she decided to take a quick nap to relax her sore muscles.

The moment Celeste opened her eyes she realised it was already past dinner time. She sighed before getting up and tidying herself up. She headed straight downstairs to have her dinner because she was really hungry. She also realized Liam had already returned and was probably in his study.

Celeste was a bit startled when she found Liam in the kitchen having dinner. Why didn't he call her?

"Hi. Why didn't you call me?" Celeste said while taking a seat beside Liam. Liam looked up from his food and frowned a bit before answering.

"I thought you already had your dinner beside you when you were sleeping." He replied in a clear voice before continuing eating his food without any further questions.

"Oh yeah. I was very tired when I returned so I just took a nap." She said while placing food on her plates to eat. She thought Liam would ask her about her first day at office but to her disappointment he just nodded and ate his food silently. In the past few days Celeste understood Liam was a quiet person. So she also didn't want to bother him and kept eating quietly. After a while Liam was the first one to finish his food he excused himself and headed upstairs.

Celeste didn't know why but she felt really upset and empty. She didn't feel like eating anymore so she got up and put the dishes in the sink before heading to her bedroom.

Liam was working on his laptop when she entered the room. He didn't even look up to see who it was. That's because he probably knew it was her. She silently moved around the room to get ready for the bed. She quickly changed into a pink nightie and did her night routine. She also had some office work to do so she grabbed her laptop and settled on the bed to finish it.

After one hour she was done with her work and ready to sleep. She looked at Liam's direction to find him deeply engrossed in his work.

"I am going to sleep. If you need anything just call me. Good night." Celeste mumbled in a soft voice and was about to lie down when Liam looked at her direction and called her.

"I have something to inform you." He said before closing his laptop and getting up. He moved towards the bed's direction. Celeste looked at him with a curious gaze as she waited for him to say what he wanted to.

"There's a party next Saturday and it's really important for me. I need you to accompany me." Liam informed straight as he got up in the bed. Celeste nodded with a smile.

"Okay." She simply agreed before lying down on the bed. She didn't say anything more and Liam also didn't bother. Both of them laid down on their respective sides as they waited for sleep to consume them. Celeste was a bit worried as it would be her first time attending a social gathering and she didn't know what people around her would be like. She just hoped Liam would be there for her. With a deep sigh Celeste let the sleep consume her whole being.
