After lunch, the girls wanted me to join them at the mall, but I politely declined.

With all the nightly… activities with Kurumi lately, I realized it had been a while since I'd visited Mukuro.

Normally, no matter how busy—I always made time to go chat with her.

At first, she had been resistant to my visits. But slowly, painstakingly, I had seen the walls around her heart begin to crack. She was even beginning to smile more often.

But then, I had suddenly stopped coming. Loneliness and solitude had once again consumed her world. It must have felt like being abandoned all over again. All she could do was stare blankly at the distant planet, her days filled with nothing but empty waiting.

This time, she hadn't sealed her heart. She was waiting for me.

'He hasn't come in so long…'

Mukuro thought, a look of indecision on her cute face. 'Did I make him angry when I didn't agree to his proposal? Does he hate me now?'

She considered going to find me, but what excuse could she possibly use?

Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice me appear silently behind her. Seeing her lonely figure, a pang of guilt went through me.

"Muku..." I called out softly.

I drifted toward her, intending to wrap her in a hug from behind.

But the moment the words left my mouth, a small asteroid shot toward me with a whoosh.

"Wait, Muku," I said, not bothering to dodge. I simply deflected the asteroid with a flick of my wrist and continued my approach. "Why are you attacking me?"

She huffed, biting her lip as she turned to face me, her cheeks puffed out. "What are you doing here?"

Her amber eyes, as beautiful as gemstones, were misty and shimmering. I felt a prickle of unease.

I wondered. 'Looks like she's already started to fall for me. With just a little more effort, I should be able to win her over completely.'

"Ahem, sorry about that, Muku," I said, putting on my most apologetic expression. "Some… unavoidable circumstances kept me away. But I brought you your favorite food."

I pulled out the snacks I had prepared, hoping to appease her. A moment later, a full spread of delicious food was laid out on the surface of the moon. When she saw the sweet potato jelly, her favorite, her face lit up with happiness.

"I'll forgive you this time," she said, a slight blush on her cheeks.

"Thank you," I smiled, sensing her good mood. It was time to press my advantage. "Come on, eat up. It's your favorite."

For a pure-hearted Spirit like Mukuro, the simplest methods were always the most effective. You just had to peel back the layers of her loneliness, add a little sweetness, and then savor the reward.

This assumes, of course, that the girl already has a good impression of you. For Mukuro, it wasn't an exaggeration to say that in her isolated world, I was the only one who had ever broken through.

She hesitated for a moment, but the temptation of the sweet potato jelly was too strong. She glanced at me, then sat down at the makeshift table.

'It's his apology gift, after all,' she reasoned, a faint blush on her cheeks. 'And I've eaten his food plenty of times before…'

She took a small bite.

A wave of sweetness spread through her, and a brilliant light shone in her eyes. True happiness needed no fancy words—a simple expression was enough.

"You're welcome. As long as you like it, Muku."

I sat beside her, propping my chin on my hand, and simply watched her eat. I let my gaze soften, filling it with the deep affection I knew she craved. I saw her heart begin to pound in her chest, so hard it looked like it might leap out of her small body.

I chuckled and reached out to pat her head. She clearly enjoyed the gesture, her eyes closing slightly in contentment.

After a while, I was sitting comfortably on Mukuro's… bed of stardust, I suppose. She was curled up beside me like a kitten.

This, for her, was the happiest, most blissful moment she could imagine: a quiet, peaceful place, her favorite food, and me by her side.

'I wish it could be forever… wait, is it selfish to think that?' She chanced a peek at me, but I caught her in the act.

A photograph suddenly appeared in my hand.

"Muku." I said, holding it out to her. "Look, isn't the girl in this picture cute?"

"..." She glanced at the photo, and her face instantly turned beet red.

It was a picture of her, taken a moment ago when she had been secretly looking at me. She hadn't realized I had captured it. Follow current novels on 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝⁂𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚⁂𝔫𝔢𝔱

Still, hearing me call her cute filled her with a secret, thrilling joy.

"C-Cute?" she stammered, her face burning.

"Of course you are," I whispered in her ear. "Don't you think so, Muku?"

My gaze wandered over her Astral Dress. The soft, delicate curves, the long, slender legs, the impossibly slim waist… and that stunning golden hair.

Under my intense stare, her heart began to race. "Y-You… you shouldn't say such embarrassing things," she mumbled, a deep blush on her cheeks. "And—stop looking at me like that!"

I chuckled, pulling my gaze away. "I can't help it. You're just too beautiful, Muku. I'm keeping this picture as a souvenir."

I saw a small, pleased smile on her face as I put the photo away.

When she had finished eating, I made my move. "Muku, it's too lonely out here. Come back to Earth with me for a bit."

Before she could even think to refuse, I took her hand and, in a flash, teleported us to Tengu City.
