Chapter 95: Chapter 95
'Good luck.' Wyatt replied in a calm tone. My eyes lit up, and I couldn't help the beam that spilled past my lips.
I guess I was the one thinking too much; Wyatt didn't put it in mind. After all, his voice is extremely calm. 'Wyatt.'
'En, babe.' He calmly replied.
'Frightened me.' I complained and pouted my lips in grievance.
Wyatt chuckled. 'Just thinking of various positions for our upcoming one-year stand.' He calmly replied. I knew he purposely said this.
Wyatt is subtly telling me that even though his voice was calm and he had just wished me good luck, he was still thinking about the one-year-stand. He'll definitely satisfy me in various positions once I'm home on the weekend.
I really want to cry a river. Gosh, I can't believe that I was so stupid to shoot myself in the feet. Is it too late to cry over spilled milk?
'Hubby, no need to think so seriously, okay? There's nothing like a one-year stand; doesn't it sound stupid in the ear?' I began to blab while he only chuckled in response.
Before he could reply, I continued, 'I'll go over to write my exam. Bye.'
'En.' he seriously replied and fell quiet. I couldn't help but sigh in relief. I hope my words are enough to convince Wyatt so he won't pursue the one-year stand. Sigh! So pitiful for this omega with a brilliant husband! Every word had to be chosen meticulously.
"No noise. No talking. No cheating…" The teacher only stopped talking after he gave us multiple warnings. "Now the exam begins."
I took a deep breath and began to go through the questions. My eyes lit up in excitement upon seeing the questions. They're so simple. I'm sure I would have more than enough passes for this subject. Since I'm confident about this, then that's enough. I hope I'll be confident about other subjects as well. After all, I don't dare to fail.
Suddenly, crafty thoughts came to my mind, and I couldn't help but smirk. I rested my chin on my palm and stared into the distance, a crafty smile on my face. 'Wyatt Hayes, I came across a hard question: do you know the answer to...'
'You dare?' Wyatt interrupted coldly. His voice was frigid and condescending to the core. Somehow, I couldn't help but shiver slightly.
'I was just pulling your leg; we're yet to begin in the first place.' I quickly explained with a white lie and silently phewed.
Just as I expected, Wyatt is so strict, and he banned cheating!
However, the questions are simple for me to solve. Even if they're hard, I have no intention of asking him or anyone the answers to them.
'Naughty.' He commented, and I couldn't help but giggle.
"Maia. Maia. Maia!" The sudden voice of the teacher jolted me awake from my reverie.
My eyes widened, and my calm expression shattered upon seeing the teacher in front of me.
Since when did the teacher arrive? Then that means he probably knew I was speaking with my mate through mind-link. Gosh! Why is this morning spelling trouble for me? Oh, Goddess!
'Wyatt, the teacher caught me mind-linking you. I think I'm a dead ass.' I whispered to him pitifully before sitting straight.
Although I complained to Wyatt pitifully, in fact, my expression was calm and composed as if I wasn't the one caught mind-linking in the class. "Teacher?" I called and stared at the teacher calmly.
The teacher's brows furrowed into a cold frown. "What are you doing during the exam? I mean, who are you mind…" Before the teacher could complete his words, he paused.
He stared at me for a minute or two before turning away indifferently. "Continue." He uttered and left to patrol other students.
"Where's this coming from?" My lips parted in a gasp, and I tilted my head in bewilderment, wondering what had just happened.
Although I knew I should start solving my exam and stopped mind-linking Wyatt, somehow I couldn't help but tell Wyatt about the teacher's strangeness. One of the benefits of having your fated mate is being able to share your joy and sorrow with him.
I understand that the teacher was displeased upon seeing me mindlink instead of solving my question. However, before he could complain, he left without a qualm.
'Wyatt, the teacher is weird. I thought he'd punish me now, but he suddenly left… Wait!' I paused when it clicked.
How could I be stupid? I should have understood that the only person who had enough power to stop the teacher for me was Wyatt Hayes.
'You were behind it, right?' I inquired knowingly. The teacher's face furrowed in displeasure, and I knew he was annoyed with me mind-linking someone else.
However, before he could complete his words, he paused his words, which meant he was using the period to mindlink Wyatt.
Wyatt must have said something to the teacher for him to leave without saying a word. My heart bloomed with sweetness. Although Wyatt is strict at some points, it seems it's not at every point!
'Be good and finish your work.' Wyatt chided, which means I was correct. I couldn't help but chortle.
'Yes, hubby.'
The days were spent eventfully, and no other slip-ups were made.
"Sister-in-law. You and brother Wyatt are trending." Arya wrapped her hand around my shoulder as we strolled toward our hostel. "I love your new look too," Arya uttered and touched my golden strand of hair.
I paused in my tracks and stared at Arya in curiosity. "How?" Why were Wyatt and I trending? Shouldn't it be the Lorelei and the Maid issue that was trending?
"How?" Arya retorted and feigned a dissatisfied scoff. "Someone came to the school after two weeks of absence, covered in hickeys and a mate bite while carrying the scent of her mate." Arya began; my face couldn't help but burn hot due to embarrassment. However, Arya wasn't done.
"As if that wasn't enough dogfood, she and her mate kept mind-linking each other in the class, showing off without restraint. While she kept walking around in a limp to flaunt her mate's stamina. Moreover, her eyes and hair suddenly changed…"
"Arya." I quickly covered Arya's mouth with my palm while blushing in embarrassment. I almost slapped my lips for asking Arya to explain to me; I should've expected that Arya would tease me with it. This is such an exaggeration. None of what they said was true.
I couldn't help but notice the classmates passing me a meaningful glance, making my face burn hot.
"What? Maia, stop covering my lips. I'm just explaining things to you from my end with goodwill." Arya cried out and gently removed my hands from her lips. She suddenly grinned craftily and began to run toward the hostel while yelling more explanations: "The couple..."
"Arya! Stop it!" I interrupted strictly and chased after her.
'Come here. I'm waiting!' The sudden voice made me pause in my tracks.
