Chapter 85: Chapter 85

"Arya, where can I find heat suppressors or blockers shot?" I hurriedly inquired; my voice was shaky due to my inward panic. Luckily, my heat hadn't caught me in the class. How bad will that be!

"I have a few left at home." Arya's eyes widened, and she suddenly smacked her forehead. "Oh gosh, I can't believe that I've forgotten to deliver some to the hostel. How could I be so stupid? How about I ask my maid to help us deliver some to the hostel? But that will take a few hours since the hospital will be open by 8:00 a.m. today. Or do you need them urgently? I could ask the maid to bring two to you now." Arya inquired, her eyes filled with worry for me.

I shook my head. My heat is yet to arrive. Perhaps it'll be tomorrow. It's not as if it hasn't arrived on a full moon in the past. "I'll wait," I replied, and calmly walked toward my closet to pick up a new outfit, extremely relieved that the issue with the heat had been solved.

I settled on baggy trousers and a crop top. I decided to pack my hair up in a messy bun as well. It's been a while since I've packed my long hair into a bun.

"How about I help you make up? My hands feel so itchy to apply makeup to that beautiful face. Wait, it's settled!" Arya excitedly said.

I shook my head in amusement at Arya's eagerness. I wasn't even given the choice to make my own decisions. I began to make my way toward the bathroom after picking up a neat towel.

"Maia." Arya suddenly called, prompting me to stop in my tracks.

"Huh? What's it?" I turned to Arya out of curiosity.

Arya leaned back on the bed while swinging her legs mischievously. "Why do you need heat suppressors when my brother is there to do the real thing? You know…" Arya raised her brows repeatedly and meaningfully. She crossed her index fingers and winked mischievously.

My face flushed due to embarrassment. Had I been drinking, I knew I'd definitely spat it out due to shock. How could Arya say such words so casually?

Arya grinned and continued, uncared about my embarrassment. "You're not ready to have a baby?"

"Arya. I. I want to take a bath." I cut in and fled into the bathroom before Arya could make a retort. I shut the door loudly due to nervousness.

I stared at the mirror, and I discovered that my face was extremely red.

"So shy. Maia, you blushed so easily," Arya commented with a playful giggle.

I had to control the urge to roll my eyes. Who wouldn't blush when Arya brazenly threw such a question? I looked away and ran my hand through my hair.

Baby? A baby? Do I need a baby? Of course, I want to carry my pup one day, but not so soon. I still have a lot of things to do, and I'm afraid that I won't be able to take care of my pup.

Moreover, I'm still too weak. I want to be strong. Strong enough to be able to protect my pup from all types of harm, like the ones I have passed through.

Soon I was done with my preparation, but even after I put on my outfit, the meaningful smile on Arya's face had yet to disappear.

I picked up my bag and silently began to make my way out of the room, a wicked smirk on my face.

"No. No. No." Arya quickly grabbed my hand and cried out while pouting her lips. "Maia, you can't be like this. I've yet to make you up." She said.

I blinked innocently. "I thought you'd rather gaze at me." I retorted and clung to my bag tighter.

Arya shook her head and gave me a fawning smile. "No. No. I'm just kidding." She expressed while waving her hands in the air, making me snort.

Arya smiled and quickly grabbed my hand before leading me to my skincare section. She made me sit on its seat.

Arya opened one of the drawers to reveal different makeup. My lips parted in a gasp. "I didn't notice it all." I conveyed

"Expected. You don't touch things, I noticed." Arya whispered, and I couldn't help but secretly agree to her words. Except for taking my clothes and some other things, I haven't touched other things in my room.

Arya began to apply makeup to my face.

By the time she was done, we both couldn't close our mouths due to her skillful use of makeup.

"Maia. Oh, my goodness. You're so beautiful." Arya exclaimed while staring at me in awe.

I touched my face and stared at the beautiful lady in the mirror before turning to Arya worriedly. "I'm attending class today. Are you sure this isn't too much?" I whispered while trying to keep from touching my face. Is this pretty lady me?

Although Arya had only applied minimal make-up, it showcased my beauty more than I could ever imagine.

I thought I was most beautiful after Fern applied makeup to my face back then, but now that my lifestyle is different, my beauty has begun to bloom rightfully.

Arya turned me to face her. "I didn't apply a lot of makeup. It's just that you are too beautiful." She whispered and grabbed my hand as if she were afraid that I would clean the makeup.

"Let's go.” Before I could process, Arya began to pull me out of the room.

My mind began to run. No, this is too much; I really can't go out like this. I have to clean it up.

"Arya, wait." I grabbed Arya's hand and tried to pry away Arya's hand or stop Arya, but I couldn't because her hold kept tightening.

Arya shook her head like a rattling drum. "I have the feeling that you'll ruin the makeup if I wait, so I can't." Arya firmly replied and continued to pull me down the stairs.

By the time I could even muster a word, I was in front of the stunned Alpha, Beta, and Playboy, who had just entered the mansion, sweaty. Why are the three together today?

"Woah. My student is gorgeous." Asher whispered in reverie. His eyes are continuously checking me out.

Oswald took a step forward, his possessiveness evidenced in his mismatched eyes. He growled, "Mat…"

"We're leaving," I yelled, interrupting Oswald and furiously glaring at him.

Is he crazy? How dare Oswald call me MATE in front of Arya? Does he even know what he wants?

"We aren't eating," I announced while feigning calm and trying to flee from the three who were currently staring at me like hungry predators eyeing their prey.

Wyatt nodded, grabbed my hand, and snaked his hands around my waist. He placed a soft kiss on my chin and ruffled my messy bun. "Work hard." He said with a slight smile.

I was so stunned that I couldn't help but touch my still-warm chin in disbelief. Wyatt dared to kiss my chin in Oswald's presence. Woah! big courage.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw Oswald's eyes turn golden in anger. Damn it!

Without hesitating, I sped out of the mansion, knowing Arya would follow.

With Oswald's mismatched eyes turning golden, I could deduce what would happen next.

The last thing I want to encounter is the two tearing each other apart because of me and Arya piecing everything together and understanding the situation.

Arya immediately ran after me; she was quick to catch up with me. "How can you run just like that? What do you mean we aren't eating? I'm hungry." Arya pouted in grievance.

Luckily, she left immediately after I left. I couldn't let her see Alpha and Beta's fighting scene. "I'm sorry. Let's settle for the cafeteria. I'll make it up to you during the weekend."

"Great. Agreed." Arya responded without hesitation. I sighed in relief and continued walking toward the school, but not without getting intense stares from passersby.

The stares worsened as soon as I stepped into the school compound. Goosebumps almost rose on my skin due to it. I turned to Arya seriously. "Arya, I think I might need to clean the makeup…"

"No." Arya shook her head while feigning a sad expression. It was as if she was telling me that she'd cry if I tried to clean the makeup.

I sighed dejectedly. Will I have to endure these intense stares? However, a thought surfaced in my mind, and a smile engulfed my face. "I'm so pretty like this; what if some other guys noticed your sister-in-law?" I decided to use what I knew would work best on Arya.

"We can't allow that." Arya's eyes turned gloomy, and she quickly grabbed my hand. "Let's go." She articulated, making me grin.

We had just taken two steps when a muscular and handsome boy stopped in front of us, blocking our path. He ran his hand through his hair and flashed me a gentle smile. "Maia, I heard you're not mated to..."

Arya's face flushed red in anger, and she scowled angrily. "You dare to propose to my sister-in-law in my presence? Are you seeking death?" Arya stood in front of me, bared her teeth, and growled at the handsome boy.

“I apologize. I didn't expect that Maia belonged to Beta's family." The person nervously explained and scampered away in fear.

Arya gave a warning growl at the crowd as if to tell them that she wouldn't hesitate to attack any man who dared to come forward to propose to me. Arya turned to me and gave me a depressed smile. "Maia. It's my fault. Come on, let's go."

I secretly heaved a sigh of relief, which Arya didn't notice, and followed Arya.

Arya pulled me into the hostel and hurriedly went to the skincare section. She opened one of the drawers, which was arranged with expensive makeup removal products, and took out all she needed.

Gently, she began to clean off the makeup from my face. Arya let out a sigh of relief and said, "I can't believe that I made this mistake. Everyone seems like they want to gobble you up…" Suddenly, Arya paused and eyed my face. "Uh, why is your face red, Maia? Are you okay?"

I turned to the mirror, and I noticed that my face had begun to flush with red and my eyes had begun to water.

Before I could say a word, a cramping spasm hit me hard, making me let out a painful groan.

My eyes widened in realization. Gosh! My heat had begun!
