Chapter 83: Chapter 83

"I smell something good. I made the right decision by professing my love. It's left for you, baby, to be my wife. When should we hold our wedding?" Asher leaned back on one of the chairs and stared at me as I arranged the meals on the table.

I made a turn for the kitchen to bring out the next set of meals. I paused in my tracks and stared at Asher from the corner of my eyes. "Don't expect it in this lifetime." I snorted and retorted coldly. I'll never date a playboy.

Besides, I still have to choose between Rex and Wyatt, which is already hard work in itself. I have no chance for Asher, the playboy. Thinking like this, I entered the kitchen to carry another set of meals.

"Wahhhh!" Asher bawled loudly and grabbed his chest dramatically. He began to sing in a fake, sad tone. I can't deny that not only does he have a handsome face, but he also has a beautiful voice. "The only woman I love doesn't love me. What am I going to do? What am I going to do? I just want to die. No one should stop me…"

"I think I'll eagerly accompany you." I interrupted while carrying the meals toward the dining table.

Asher paused, and his eyes lit up with joy. "To die?" He leaned forward and asked eagerly.

I snorted immediately. I've just been given a second chance; why will I stupidly die with Asher? "No. To say farewell to you."

Arya burst into laughter while Oswald and Wyatt smiled.

"Wahh!" Asher suddenly stopped crying. "I won't argue since I've gotten a meal."

I smiled and carefully packed Rex's meal in a thermos flask I found in Wyatt's mansion. Once Rex calls or mindlinks me, I'll go out to deliver the food to him.

After arranging the meals according to everyone's list, I also sat down in front of mine.

Arya's eyes lit up, and she threw me a thumbs-up. "Looks delicious, baby; I love you."

Oswald folded his arms, and his eyes fell on me. "Where's mine?" He demanded angrily

How would I know? I almost blurted coldly, but somehow I was able to caution myself.

Since Arya was here, I didn't want to act close to that Oswald jerk so she wouldn't think something was wrong. To Arya, I'm Wyatt's mate; if Oswald popped up as my mate, wouldn't things appear weird? I can certainly give no chance to that.

I shrugged and earnestly replied while trying not to gnash my teeth or glare at the annoying jerk. How can Oswald leave home early in the morning just to eat someone else's meal? He's really shameless!

I took a deep breath to suppress my raging anger and bowed to him while feigning calm. "Alpha, these are made according to everyone's preference. I didn't expect you to be here until now." I expressed.

My words were indirectly pointing out that Oswald is the third party that shamelessly popped up without invitation.

Oswald shrugged as if he didn't understand the indirect meaning of my words, even though it was vivid that he did. He stood up from the sofa and walked to the dining chair next to me before sitting on it.

Oswald smirked, picked up one of the clean cutlery, and took a plate of meal from mine. "I'll eat yours. Sharing is love." Immediately, he scooped it up and ate it elegantly.

I gnashed my teeth angrily. However, I couldn't say anything. To others, including Arya, the Alpha is the law.

Oswald gave a cocky smile at my stifling anger. I clenched my fist hard in a bid to repress myself and not strangle him to death.

Asher winked at me and patted the seat next to him. "Come here, Maia; I love you the most. I'll share with you..."

"Delicious." Wyatt's earnest praise interrupted Asher's words. My eyes lit up, and I gave him a sweet smile.

Oswald snorted and ate another spoonful from another plate. "Not what I expected…"

"Do you believe I'll stab you if you take another spoonful?" I glared at him angrily. That asshole. Not only did he shamelessly eat my meals, but he also dared to comment badly on them as if he were forced to eat them.

Arya gave Oswald and me a puzzled expression. I could see that she was curious about Oswald and my relationship, but she didn't speak. "Maia, it's yummy," Arya praised.

I smiled at Arya and said, "Thank you…"

Ping!

The message alert on my phone attracted my attention. I quickly picked up my phone and broke into a smile upon seeing that the text was from Rex. I stood up and carried the thermos flask immediately.

Wyatt's black eyes fell on me. "Where are you going?"

"To meet my friend." I simply replied, knowing Wyatt would understand.

Arya gasped as if she didn't believe that I had just mentioned a friend. "You have a friend?" She questioned me, and I nodded in reply.

Arya's eyes widened in surprise. She placed her fork down and asked, "Can I see her…"

"Him." I quickly corrected while thinking of the excuse to tell Arya. Rex is a vampire, not a werewolf, so Arya can't meet him!

Arya stood up eagerly and reiterated, "Can I?"

Wyatt lifted his head and took a casual glance at Arya. "Sit. Where's your assessment?" Wyatt strictly asked.

Immediately, Arya plopped on the chair, seeming to be depleted of energy. Her eyes glistened with tears, and she almost burst into loud tears. "Big brother Wyatt, don't be like this; I'm here to have fun." She pleaded.

I shot Wyatt a grateful smile and walked out of the mansion. If Wyatt hadn't thought of such a method to stop Arya, I don't know how to reject Arya without hurting her feelings.

"Rex." I ran toward Rex, whose back was turned to the mountain entrance like always.

I gasped when Rex turned to me with a smile on his face. Rex currently looked drained; he had dark circles, and he appeared tired. "Why are you…"

Rex reached out and hugged me tightly. "Filippa, it's so tiring." He mumbled and placed a light kiss on my shoulder.

I sighed worriedly. I separated from Rex and cupped his cheeks. "Rex, what's happening to you?" How come he looks so drained? Rex had always been so full of energy.

Rex shook his head slightly and hugged me again. "You have a lot of things going on, Filippa; I don't want to stress you." He whispered.

I shook my head in protest and took hold of Rex's hand. "I can take it, Rex. Tell…"

Rex's finger fell on my lips. "Don't ask, Filippa. I'll handle it." He interrupted and placed a kiss on my forehead. "Tell those scums they're here. I'm leaving." Rex declared. Without giving me a chance to speak, Rex disappeared.

I heaved a distressed sigh and trudged back to the mansion, sadly. What's happening with Rex? I ruffled my hair and sighed.

I wish I had more strength; I could have been of help to Rex, but now I'm nothing but a burden. How annoying!

"Why are you so downcast?" Asher asked while sipping the fresh orange juice I made. I took a glance at the dining table only to discover that all my meals had been eaten by that Oswald jerk.

That scum? How can he? I almost yelled. However, due to the low mood I was in, I didn't even have the energy to groan, not to mention quibble with Oswald.

"He told me to deliver news: they're coming." I took a glance at the four and languidly expressed before ascending the stairs.

Asher immediately spat out the juice. "Fuck! That vampire madman man will be attacking the pack earlier this month?" He yelled in disbelief.

I paused in my tracks in surprise. Is he talking about Rex? Rex attacks the werewolf every month? My brows furrowed. Perhaps Asher is getting it wrong? I don't believe Rex's state is linked to attacking the Power Axis Pack.

Considering that Rex is familiar with the werewolf pack, I don't believe he needs to tire himself out to plan an attack.

Wyatt shook his head, his brows furrowing seriously. "No, you're wrong. He mentioned they." Wyatt explained

Asher's expression changed immediately: "It can't be."

Oswald's expression turned cold. "I think it's."

Although I'm curious about their discussion, I'm more worried about Rex to be paying attention to the three's conversation. Rex is so busy. I wonder if he'll have time to teach me. I don't think he'll have the chance to.

I stepped into my room and took out my phone to text a message. ‘You don't have to tutor me in the meantime.' I texted

A few minutes later, Rex sent a reply. 'Thanks.'

'Is that needed?' I quickly sent, accompanying my text was a glaring emoji.

'Sorry princess. I'm leaving.'
