Chapter 66: Chapter 66
My eyes widened in realization, and I almost knocked myself on the head for my forgetfulness. I couldn't believe I'd forgotten that I'm not poor. I sat up and grabbed my phone immediately.
I nodded to Arya. "Oh. Yes, I've actually forgotten about it. Let me see how... Ah?" A shocked gasp fell from my lips upon logging into my bank account.
Upon seeing 20 million wolvese staring at me, my lips parted, and my jaw dropped in disbelief.
Isn't Wyatt spoiling me too much for a stranger? I couldn't help letting out a distressed sigh. "Didn't your brother think he's spoiling me too much…"
I was yet to complete my words when a sheepish grin slowly crept over Arya's face. Arya's brows raised repeatedly.
I knew completing my words would result in teasing from Arya, so I paused my speech and playfully glared at her. I happily placed my phone on the bed and stared seriously at Arya.
"I want to gamble 19 million. If I win, that means I'll be making 380 million. Yes! I'll become a rich woman overnight."
I began to think of all the things 380 million wolvese could do in my life, and the urge to bet my money in support of me became stronger. I know there's no way I can make such quick money in the future.
Arya grabbed my hands earnestly and placed her head on my shoulder. "Sister-in-law, the whole family is depending on you now. We've all bet in support of you." Arya explained in a pitiful tone.
My lips parted slightly. I couldn't believe all of Wyatt's family had supported me, but that made my determination to win increase. I have to bag the money home.
I puffed my chest out and patted it confidently. "Fret not. We're becoming rich overnight." I proclaimed this seriously and swaggered into the bathroom proudly after taking off my clothes and wrapping a towel around my chest. I was confident in myself and, more so, determined; there's no way I'm losing!
Upon stepping into the bathroom and closing the door, I stared at my naked self in the mirror, and I couldn't help being awed by what I saw.
The girl in the mirror was no longer as thin and malnourished as she looked before she met Wyatt. I've begun to grow in all the right places, and all my shapes are getting more vivid day by day.
Although the change wasn't reflected fully, it was still vivid, and I looked very different from the past.
My beauty had begun to glow, and the scars on my skin had begun to fade slowly. I stretched my hand toward the mirror, but before I could touch it, I let my hand fall to my side.
I sighed and crouched slightly on the floor in sadness. "This is all thanks to Wyatt. I'll miss him." I whispered to Maia.
Wyatt had been the one to save me, despite not knowing me. He had been the one to change me into a princess, enroll me in school, treat my scars, heal my wounds, etc. If I begin to recount all Wyatt has done, I think I'll end up crying for a long time.
"Me too." Maia quietly agreed.
However, there's nothing I can do; I've got to leave the power axis pack since there's nothing left for me here.
I know there are many secrets to unravel, but I'm sure Rex knew something, and he aimed to make me stronger before revealing it to me.
After I was done taking a bath, I dressed up and made cereal for Arya, and I
"Sister-in-law, good luck." Arya winked and pumped her fist in the air to cheer me up as we walked toward our respective classes.
I facepalmed myself in exasperation due to the sister-in-law's words. "Arya, you'll never come out of it."
Arya began to jog toward her class while grinning at me. "No, I won't." She raised her hand and waved as she backtracked toward her class. "Bye. I'll come to watch your battle to cheer you up. Bye, baby." Arya hollered and sent air kisses toward me.
"Bye." I smiled and waved at Arya before stepping into the class.
As soon as I stepped into the class, a lot of students surrounded me.
"Maia, I heard you'll be fighting today. Please be our 9A class pride." A boy said this to me and closed his eyes with determination.
"But you bet your money against her." Another boy quipped, making the first boy's face red in embarrassment.
"Shut up, I didn't." The boy responded in embarrassment.
Someone knocked the boy's hair playfully. "Didn't you claim to be realistic?" He retorted.
I couldn't help laughing at the class's interactions. If things weren't bad in the class, I knew my classmates were caring and funny. I'll really miss everything here.

Perhaps it was because of the spar that was to happen, but we had a lot of free periods today, and today's learning wasn't as intense as normal.
All the teachers also kept cheering me up whenever they came into the class. I can't help thinking that I'm the most talked-about topic in the Power Axis Pack now.
As soon as it was 1:30 p.m., I received a text from Oswald.
Move to the forest entry. The second trial begins in 30 minutes.
I smiled in happiness, stood up, and cheerfully began to arrange my things in my bag. Time to face-slap that proud Oswald.
As soon as I packed my things, I picked up my bag and left the class, which was free of teachers. I cheerfully made my way toward my locker, my heart faintly thrumming with excitement, anxiety, and nervousness.
As soon as I stepped into the dressing room, I met Lorelei leaning against the wall, her arms crossed smugly.
"Have you packed your things?" Lorelei crossed her arms and raised her chin smugly. Her chin was raised, and her back straightened with delight. It was as if Lorelei could picture me being kicked out already.
My lips curled slightly. Getting kicked out? Hah! As if! I could only walk out of the power axis pack happily, not the former. However, there's no need to let someone like Lorelei know.
"Yes." I nodded while pretending to be pitiful and strode toward Lorelei.
However, as soon as I arrived in front of Lorelei, I leaned toward her ear and smirked. "The last thing left is to fuck Oswald before I leave. I know there's no way he won't be willing, and you know that too." I taunted her.
Completing my sentence, I leaned back, flashed Lorelei a deep smile, and winked twice.
Lorelei's face paled, and she stomped her feet in anger. "You bitch." She screeched at me, but I could see the flash of helplessness in her eyes. Even though Lorelei was Oswald's partner, she knew who could grab his attention better between the two of us.
I took multiple steps and waved at the indignant Lorelei, enjoying how furious yet helpless she looked.
"See ya. I'll be waiting for you to cheer me up." I waved at Lorelei twice.
I quickly placed all my things in my locker and shut it before making my way toward the forest. I clenched my fist and tried to calm my raging emotions.
However, I had just walked out of the school compound when I came across Wyatt. Wyatt was in a black suit, his figure looking tall, domineering, and enchanting. My heart couldn't help racing at the sight of the handsome Wyatt. My legs diligently came to a stop, and I called. "Wyatt."
"Messed her mind good?" Wyatt was questioned and smirked knowingly.
I blushed in embarrassment immediately because I knew Wyatt was talking about Lorelei. However, I never expected Wyatt to hear our interaction; how did he?
Wyatt smiled and didn't comment further. "Good luck. I'll wait for you to win." He conveyed.
Suddenly, Wyatt dipped his hands into his pocket and took out two wooden shirt buttons. I tilted my head in curiosity, wondering what the buttons were meant for.
"Here." Wyatt urged and placed the two buttons in my hand. "Pin them to your clothes." Wyatt suddenly leaned forward and whispered into my hair, "Secret fighting pills." He revealed
My lips parted in shock, and I took a step back.
I didn't expect Wyatt to take such a huge risk for me. I recalled Wyatt promising not to let me be kicked out, but I didn't expect him to go to such lengths.
I caressed the button, and I noticed that the pill completely seemed like wood. Had Wyatt not told me it was a button, I wouldn't have discovered what they were intended for. Not to mention whoever was going to check on me later.
Wyatt must have spent a lot to make this, isn't he? My eyes lowered, and I caressed the button twice. I really envy whoever Wyatt's mate is.
I shook my head and grabbed Wyatt's big hand with my small one before reluctantly returning the button to him. I really want to keep it as a keepsake, but what right do I have to? I'll be leaving soon.
I raised my head and smiled at Wyatt gently. "Thank you, Beta Wyatt. But I don't need you to tweak the rules for me. I'll win on my accord." I survived Rex's training without using a weapon. What more pills?
If Rex hears about me tweaking the rules later on, he'll surely become indignant and go hard on me.
Besides, I'm determined to make Oswald angry and ashamed; winning on my own is the best way to achieve my goal.
"Ok," Wyatt replied in agreement, and he leaned forward to kiss my chin.
My heart skipped a beat, and my face flushed with shyness. However, Wyatt only smiled and straightened his back.
I raised my hand and touched my chin, where I could still feel the warmth of Wyatt's kiss, but...
Recalling the most important thing that would happen after I won the trial, I grabbed Wyatt's hand and lowered my head in embarrassment.
My heart began to pound, and I could only bite my lower lip and take a deep breath to calm myself.
"Wyatt! I'm leaving after the competition." I announced while trying to fake a calm smile, even though my mind was beginning to go chaotic.
Immediately, my heart felt painful, as if it were being squeezed. I bit my lower lip to stop the whimper that tried to fall from my lips.
"What?" Even without looking at Wyatt's face, I could hear the raw pain and disbelief in his voice, and it made me feel as if I were suffocating.
I couldn't even summon the courage to look Wyatt in the face. Without hesitation or waiting for Wyatt's response, I fled toward the forest, my heart pounding out of control and my brain running chaotically.
It was when I arrived at the forest entrance that my legs came to a halt of their own accord.
My eyes were filled with tears; I was out of breath, and I couldn't help clutching my painful chest.
I gasped due to the pain and inhaled multiple deep breaths to calm myself, but none of them worked.
None of them could distract me from the painful voice of Wyatt that kept playing in my ears.
I have a competition; I can't lose control of my emotions. I can't!
But why does it hurt so much? Why? My lips quivered in pain.
Tears began to fall past my cheeks before I could stop them, and the painful sob slowly emitted past my lips.
I bent slightly and grabbed my hair, tugging it harshly so it could distract me from the pain my heart was currently feeling, but to no avail.
"Maia." Nancy suddenly called and hugged me from behind. "Good luck."
