Chapter 65: Chapter 65

The time ticked by eventfully.

My time was either spent studying or training with Rex, and now I could fight 30 mid-level rogues in less than two hours by myself, and it's all thanks to Rex's intense training.

Rex is really such a capable teacher, and it was all thanks to that stinky Oswald, who thought he had trapped me by ordering Asher not to teach me before the trial.

Luckily for me, the disappointment or disaster ended up leading me to such a fortunate discovery.

Rex towered over me domineeringly. "If you dared to lose later..." Although Rex didn't complete his words, his red eyes, which were filled with maniac, fierce light, made me shrink back in fear.

We had just gone through the evening of dawn training. Perhaps it was because of the trial that was to happen in the afternoon today; surprisingly, Rex permitted me to return to the hostel at 1:33 a.m.

“I won't fail, capisce?” I growled at Rex boastfully and bared my teeth at him.

I know Rex is confident that I won't fail the competition, which was all thanks to Rex's training; I can easily take five high-ranking rogues on my own.

Looking back at my achievements over the past few days, I couldn't help smiling with joy. I hope my energy will also awaken soon. I really want to know how it can be used.

"I know." Rex nodded in agreement and stretched his arms wide. "Good luck hug?"

Quickly, I burrowed into Rex's embrace, and he hugged me tighter. I yawned and sighed in bliss.

"Goodnight, Teacher Rex. Have a good rest tomorrow. I'll tell you the result in the evening." I conveyed and wrapped my hands around him.

Although I'm eager to let Rex see my performance after all he has done to train me, I'm rational enough to put a halt to my actions.

Rex is the vampire lord, and he mustn't be found in the vicinity of the power axis. Rex being able to stay in the forest is already the power axis pack's goodwill.

Oswald had always been the one with wicked schemes; who knows if he'll plan to make my fight with the rogues conspicuous? I must be prepared in all ways.

"En. Go and sleep. It has been hard on you." Rex cajoled gently and separated from me.

There was a gentle and proud smile on Rex's face. The moon fell on Rex's whole being and made his whole figure exceptionally outstanding in the night. My heart couldn't help but skip a beat twice.

Upon hearing Rex's words, I glared at Rex in grievance. So he knew he was very hard on this poor princess? But that had never inclined Rex to lessen his intense training.

However, I knew the hardcore training was what helped me grow so quickly. If it weren't for Rex, I might not be able to achieve this much.

"Be good." Rex coaxed and patted my head endearingly. "After the competition, I'll take you out of the power axis pack to play, provided you win," Rex said, emphasizing the latter part of his words firmly.

However, Rex's later words weren't able to attract my attention. Not at all! It was the first sentence that did, and it made me excited.

Ever since my parents' deaths, I've been cooped up in the Red Flame Pack as a slave, and I've not been able to see the outside world. Getting to hear that I'd be taken out to see the outside world by Rex was enough to make me joyful.

Spontaneously, I placed a loud kiss on Rex's cheeks and separated from him.

"I'll be waiting for you, teacher, Capisce." I hollered.

Without waiting for Rex's answer, I sped toward the forest exit and said goodbye to Rex using the mind-link.

Rex chortled and said goodnight to me, his lips curling up slightly.

I happily hummed to the hostel. As soon as I showered and did all the necessary things, I fell on my bed and slept off.

I woke up due to the shuffling noise that was made by Arya. Upon checking the time, it was 5:31 a.m.

Upon seeing me awake, Arya's eyes lit up. She sat down on my bed and grabbed my hand eagerly.

"Sister-in-law, good luck on your trial. I've gambled all my pocket money on you. You mustn't lose." Arya divulged to me in a cheerful yet grim tone.

I couldn't resist laughing at Arya's sense of tone. I sat up and propped my head carefully.

Although I expected that Oswald might pull something mischievous, I didn't realize that the trial had been broadcast so much that it attracted gambling. I clenched my fist tightly in determination; I must win. "So... how much did you gamble, Miss Arya?" I inquired curiously.

"Six-month meal fee." Arya blurted while blinking cutely. She smacked her lips together and raised six fingers in the air to signify six. "Six," she reiterated.

six-month meal fee to gamble? My lips twitched in bewilderment. "That's expensive." I blurted out, shocked.

Although I knew Arya would gamble something huge, I didn't expect it to be such a huge amount of money. All for me! Even though she knew I was a beginner who didn't know how to fight!

A warm feeling crept into my heart, and my heart felt sweetened.

"It's worth it." Arya shrugged coolly as if she wouldn't be hurt if she lost the gamble at the end of the day.

Anyway, I'm confident I won't lose in the end. Isn't it taking middle-ranked rogues? Easy-peasy!

An idea suddenly flashed in my mind, and my eyes lit up with joy. I grabbed Arya's hand eagerly. "Well, how can I gamble in secrecy?" I inquired seriously.

Gambling during this time is a free way to make money. I didn't have my own money, but if I could gamble an amount of money today, I could use it to earn more money without breaking a sweat.

Besides, it's also supporting myself and earning more money.

Arya tilted her head and eyed me with a gaze filled with mischievousness. "You want to support yourself?" She grinned.

"Yes." I nodded my head in reply. "What are the odds?"

"Twenty to one," Arya blurted.

My eyes widened in disbelief. I can't believe that they think betting on me is such a huge risk! It's simply underrating my strength!

Well, it's not their fault.

After all, the only time I had sparred in everyone's presence, I had lost awfully. Not only that, I didn't even know how to exercise properly. So there's no way any of them will believe that I can win.

I puffed my cheeks out in grievance and dramatically fell on the bed. "They all look down on me too much. That's not fair!"

I huffed unhappily, but in the next minute, I smiled craftily and sat up. I leaned back on the bed and propped my head up, snickering happily. "Well, that's good. I can become a rich lady from these. What's the least and highest amount of money to gamble?"

"Whatever is your choice. I know of someone who gambled 50 million…" Arya suddenly paused and grinned wickedly when she saw me gasp in astonishment. "But it's against you." She disclosed and smirked wickedly.

I shrugged, tilted my head, and smiled happily. "Oh my, very impressive; there's more money to take home. Let them keep betting against me; I'll be there to pack the money home." I grinned happily, causing Arya's lips to twitch in bewilderment.

Perhaps Arya expected me to be unhappy, but why would I be unhappy in the face of making money? So what if they bet against me? At the end of the day, I'll be there to pack it all when I win anyway, so it's a win for me and a loss for them.

Suddenly, a thought surfaced in my mind, and all my happiness diffused immediately.

Upon recalling that I'm a poor lady who doesn't even have any money to gamble, I huffed unhappily and fell back to the bed, brooding in displeasure.

Had I had money, by this time tomorrow I would've counted money until my hands turned numb, but now it had become a dream that couldn't be achieved.

Boohoo! Life is so pitiful when one is poor! "Forget it." I waved at Arya and turned my back on her in unhappiness.

"Ehn?" Arya's voice was filled with bafflement as if she couldn't understand the reason why the enthusiastic me became sad.

"I've got no money on me," I muttered in a pitiful tone and curled into a fetal position.

"You've spent the money in your bank account? When do you do so behind my back?" Arya inquired in a teasing tone.

Her question implies that I've forgotten the amount Wyatt sent to the bank account he opened on my behalf.
