Chapter 62: Chapter 62

Happy New Months Everyone. This Author is really grateful for your support and comments. Thank You

"So, did you plan to return home? I do." Arya asked me and replied while munching a shortbread cookie in its pack in such an enticing way that even if one doesn't have an appetite to eat, one will be hungry.

I knew why she had brought up her question. Today is Saturday, which means there's no school. We only have a few hours of optional day lessons, and as a result, the majority of the students were absent—the majority of them have gone home.

I parted my lips to give Arya a reply, but before I could, she interrupted with a mischievous Cheshire cat grin on her face. Arya winked at me with a flirty gaze and played with a strand of her hair. "There's no need to respond. It's written in your eyes how much you miss my brother. Both of you will even resort to meeting in the school head office because you can't keep your hands to yourself." She articulated and grinned mischievously. Completing her words, Arya scurried off, her mischievous laughter ringing in the hall.

My face burned in embarrassment. "Nonsense! Arya, come back here." I seethed while trying to replay all that had just transpired. Arya's teasing skills kept increasing daily. That girl.

However, everything that's ongoing keeps making me worried. Now that everyone has begun to associate me with Wyatt, it keeps getting me worried on his behalf since I'll be leaving soon.

My heart clenched tightly at the thought of leaving, but I tried to stay calm and put a smile on my face. Perhaps things will work out soon!

"Bye, darling. I'm attending class." Arya hollered at me while winking and sending air kisses toward me. Arya waved at me energetically and sped down the passage toward her class.

A smile fell past my lips because of Arya's actions, and I can't help thinking that Arya is really cute. I didn't realize that I'd be getting closer to someone soon, but just like her cousin, Arya is a good person. It's just that she shipped Wyatt and me too much; how will she feel when I leave? Just the thought of it made me exhale in exhaustion, my mind running chaotically.

Casually, I tucked my hands into my baggy pants pockets and leisurely strode toward my class. I thought I'd be met with troubles after yesterday's event, but none of the things I expected happened. Instead, many students gazed and waved at me with a friendly and gentle smile, while others stared at me with dodgy and guilty eyes.

However, I ignored them all and strode into my class with a snort. Two-faced people!

Since today was Saturday, many of the students weren't presented, and that included Nancy and Eve.

"Maia, I knew that post must be a lie. You're such a sweetheart, and you looked pure. My boyfriend told me you wouldn't even take his handshake when you first met. Here's the pen you lent me yesterday. Thank you." Olivia articulated and stretched the pen I loaned her.

"You're welcome," I responded and collected the pen before returning it to its case, choosing to not reply to her other words.

"Look, I defended you from the haters yesterday; how did I do? Great, right?" Olivia giggled and handed her phone over to me.

I smiled at Olivia and casually took a look at her phone. She was right; I could see Olivia defending me multiple times.

My heart warmed upon seeing Olivia's post. Even Nancy had typed against me, but Olivia hadn't. "Thank you, Olivia." I appreciate her, sincerely.

Olivia nodded to me happily and turned to the front while I calmly took out my books.

Suddenly, I felt a strange change in my body, and hostile emotions took over. Already accustomed to such emotions, I raised my head with my fist clenched in hatred and annoyance.

Lorelei's eyes and mine met immediately, and I didn't hesitate to glare at her.

Suddenly Lorelei frowned, retraced her steps, and stepped out of the class as if she had just recalled something.

I smirked in delight. Great! Exactly what I needed! Time to get that bitch!

I didn't hesitate to pack my books and return them to my desk locker. As soon as I did so, I stood up and followed Lorelei. I didn't bother tiptoeing or walking carefully because I knew it was useless.

Despite how I walked behind Lorelei, she didn't look back for once. It was as if Lorelei didn't know I was behind her, or maybe she just didn't want to pay me attention.

Soon, I noticed that Lorelei had been leading me to the female restroom. Lorelei knew about my presence, but she had just chosen to ignore me. Either way, it's fine!

A smirk surfaced on Lorelei's face, and she opened the door confidently.

I followed behind Lorelei and entered the restroom immediately.

Without holding back, I slapped Lorelei's cheeks twice, not holding back and using all my strength. I'm sure her head will be ringing. I took a step toward her and glared at her coldly.

"You bitch! Did you have a good time planning such nonsensical schemes?" I seethed, my body shaking due to anger.

I really felt such hatred toward Lorelei that even the slaps were nothing in the presence of my boiling rage. At this moment, I had a strong impulse to strangle and tear Lorelei apart.

Lorelei's lips parted slightly due to shock, but in the next second, she adjusted her emotions. And she seemed rather calm this time.

"Confident, aren't you?" Lorelei smirked with an indecipherable glint and touched her smooth cheeks, which had no palm imprint.

I frowned, feeling as if something had somehow slipped out of my control. I had just used all my strength; how come Lorelei's cheeks showed that nothing had happened? And why is she nonchalant?

"It's just been a few days, yet you've got all the boys in hand. Even getting Wyatt to succumb himself. You're really a slut." Lorelei disparaged in a rather calm voice and repeatedly stroked her cheeks.

I can't help thinking that Lorelei is too calm compared to when we're on the stage and in the forest.

I'm not a masochist, but I've just slapped this person, and the only thing she did was touch her face and spout nonsense words. Is Lorelei an all-bite, no-action wolf?

However, I suppressed all my doubts and smiled instead. I folded my arms and took a step toward Lorelei authoritatively.

I leaned toward Lorelei's ears and smiled. "Thank you for the compliment. But I suppose that you'll die to get such abilities. After all, you cannot hold your man." I whispered and smirked wickedly when I saw her expression pale.

Swiftly, I raised my hand toward the bite mark on Lorelei's neck and used my hand to swipe the mark. Immediately, I realized that Lorelei had been using makeup to draw a fake mate bite; the makeup stain in my hand enunciated it. "So useless! It's even fake." I taunted her with a disdainful snicker and took a step back.

I made my way toward the bathroom sink with contempt revealed in my eyes. I raised my hair and wiped a side of my neck, which I used concealer to conceal, revealing the marks Oswald had placed on my neck. "Do you know who gave me those marks? It's your sweet Alpha. He's pretty possessive of me, but you? I don't think he likes you…"

"Stop speaking nonsense!" Lorelei roared at me and immediately raised her hand to slap me. However, I ducked calmly.

After training with my teacher Rex, I've gotten better; I won't deny it. I gave Lorelei a faint, amused gaze. "Aren't you a pure Luna? I didn't expect you to be stimulated so easily. After those stupid events, do you think I won't learn to counterattack?" I stopped washing my hands and leaned on the cold cabinet before glancing at Lorelei again.

"Do you think those nonsensical schemes will faze me? I'm not a member of your power axis pack; I don't care what they think." I conveyed seriously and glanced at her before making my way toward the door. "If this is all about your Oswald, have a tight leash on your husband; I hate it when a certain lustful fly buzzes in my ears and gets into my personal business," I warned her seriously, telling her that I didn't care about Oswald; instead, he was the one who was poking his nose into my business.

Lorelei's expression darkened, and she raised her hand to slap, vividly infuriated by my words. '"You bitch!" She seethed, her eyes filled with rage and hatred.

I calmly grabbed her hand before it could make contact with my face. "The only time you can beat me is on that stage. I told you, you have no chance anymore." I spat at her coldly and threw away her hand with disdain.

"Hehehe." Suddenly, Lorelei began to chuckle; she chuckled once and twice and then thrice before it became full-fledged laughter.

I wrinkled my brows and stared at her in confusion. "What's funny?" I tilted my neck, bedazzled. Lorelei was unhappy and infuriated a while ago, but she suddenly began to laugh. What's happening? Is she crazy?

Hearing my question, Lorelei stopped laughing and instead pointed to the upper right corner of the restroom, and at that instant, I saw a CCTV conspicuously placed on the wall.

My heart skipped a beat. I hadn't noticed the presence of a CCTV camera all along! It seems I still have a long way to go!

My eyes flashed, and everything clicked at once: Lorelei had purposely tricked me into the bathroom!

Besides, Lorelei had purposely let me slap her and refused to retort because she had been recording me all that time. Is she trying to rope me in for the second time?

Lorelei took a step toward me and smirked while playing with a strand of hair. She leaned forward and whispered next to my ear. "Look at that camera. Your stalking act and slapping me have been recorded on that camera. All I need to do is edit it a little bit, and you'll be torn apart by the pack members. I think it'll be worse than last night's battle." A cocky and happy smile appeared on Lorelei's face for the first time since we met in the restroom. It was as if she could picture me being kicked out of the pack.

I laughed immediately after hearing Lorelei's explanation, and her face turned ugly. I smacked my lips together and paced about while sighing pitifully. "Really? Do you think you're the one who took countermeasures? It's quite pitiful that you only thought of taking a video." I conveyed to her with a feigned gentle smile.

Lorelei's expression changed immediately. "What do you mean?" Her eyes turned sharp.

I shrugged indifferently. "I have a voice recording also. If you're not afraid of letting everyone know I'm mated to Oswald, then release your video edit right now." I threatened, my head raised high, and my back straightened. "Compared to an ordinary partner, you know what every werewolf values the most: their mate. And your Alpha husband being like that, I'm not sure if he'll have the strength to support you." I shook my head in feigned sympathy for Lorelei.

Lorelei stiffened, but she snapped out of it immediately. "You really think naively. There are many things you've yet to know. Don't assume that you're special because the boys are chasing you." She asserted.

I shrugged and smirked indifferently. "It doesn't matter. Ever since I was born, my parents have told me I'm special." I retorted seriously.

"You bitch!" Lorelei lunged at me, but I calmly ducked away.

I touched my chin and squinted my eyes. Why did Lorelei lunge at me now? Are her parents her Achilles heel? Did I just find out about her Achilles heels? I smirked. Well, I'm enjoying this.

I folded my arms and chortled in amusement. "Talking about parents, I've never heard about Luna Lorelei's parents ever since I arrived; are they dead? Besides, I didn't catch a glimpse of them at the party. Is it that the power axis pack is raising a set of pitiful orphans?" I covered my lips to stop the taunting laughter from falling past my lips upon seeing Lorelei's hostile expression.

However, I'm tired of this sort of baseless conversation. I hope the little conversation we had is enough to make Lorelei return to her senses. I only want to spend worry-free days here before I leave. I don't want to fight over that jerk!

Without waiting for Lorelei's reply, I turned to leave the restroom. I was about to open the door when the door suddenly swung toward me on its own accord.

Instinctively, I used my hand to cover my face and took a step back, but I wasn't able to avoid getting hit. The impact of the swing sent pain throughout my entire system.

I bit my lower lips to bite down on the scream that threatened to fall past my lips. I reckoned that my scream would have resounded in the room had I let it slip past my lips.

I crouched slightly and carefully stretched out my arms. My lips were quivering, and my eyes were filled with hot tears. My hands hurt a lot! It really hurt; it felt as if it was going to break into pieces.

At that moment, I realized how dangerous it'd have been if I hadn't taken a few days of training and my face had been directly hit. Perhaps my face will have been deformed!

My eyes flashed with curiosity and anger. Just what the hell is going on? What's with this random energy hit that I couldn't avoid? This is the third time it's happened to me!

"Hahaha." Lorelei suddenly laughed behind me and began to make her way toward me, the heels of her shoes clinking softly. "You're such bad luck. Even the door doesn't want you to touch it." She clicked her tongue and stepped out of the restroom in glee.
