Chapter 51: Chapter 51

HAPPY CHAPTER 50 TO US

FILIPPA'S POV

“En. Cute Princess Filippa's Hubby.”

"Rex, you flirt!" I huffed, punched Rex's chest playfully, and tried to separate from him, my face hot and flushing.

This silly rascal! How did he change so much? He's blatantly flirting with me! This rascal had always respected me back then!

Rex held onto my waist tightly, which made all my efforts to separate from him futile. "What do you mean? I'm only flirting with my wife." He teased mischievously.

A flirty smirk was plastered on Rex's face, and I won't deny that Rex looked so hot and handsome. How did I get myself surrounded by such handsome guys who love flirting with me?

"You…"

"When are you leaving? I can't wait to get married to my crush." Rex interrupted in a thick voice, chuckling with a devilish smile plastered on his face.

I tried not to let his words get to me, but I couldn't help it.

My face flushed, and my eyelashes fluttered in embarrassment. Shamefully, I reached out and extended all my strength to push myself away from Rex. Thankfully, he let me go this time.

"You. You've become shameless." I pointed at him, tongue-tied, and huffed at him before turning my back to him. Where's that little innocent vampire I know? Who's this shameless rascal flirting with me now?

"Whether there's a mate or not, I don't care. All I know is that I want you, and I'll get you. There's no way I'm leaving you after such a separation." Rex warned in a deep voice. His eyes were half-lidded and stuck to my face.

The instant Rex completed his words, the bite mark burned. I hissed and touched the spot close to the bite mark while doing my best not to touch the bite mark. "What did you just do?" I inquired curiously.

Rex shrugged and switched the topic instead. "You want to find out about rogues?" He asked while looking around.

I smacked my lips together and glared at him meaningfully, hoping that'd make him reveal the meaning behind his actions, but he only looked away. Having no intention to speak.

I sighed and nodded to him truthfully, already realizing that I couldn't force words out of all the men close to me. "Yes."

Rex grabbed my hand and began to lead me deep into the forest—the direction he came from. "Come with me; I'll help you find rogues to train with." He conveyed seriousness, and I followed him immediately.

Remembering all the things bothering me, I decided to use the free time I had to ask Rex. Rex is the lord of the vampire tribe, which means that he's more informed than I was.

As the vampire lord, Rex will have the opportunity to get more information easily, so he's the best person to implore if I want to get the information I need. "Rex. Do you know about pure blood?" I stopped in my tracks and stared at him with seriousness.

Rex stopped in his tracks and turned to me, his eyes concentrating on mine. "There are many secrets they're hiding from you because of your low strength. If you know them now, it'll become dangerous since you might need to take on many responsibilities." Rex conveyed.

His expression was very serious, which shows that he wasn't lying.

I frowned slightly. So that was the reason? They were trying to protect me? But why? They don't even know my real identity. Was it about my unusual display of strength?

Besides, what does he mean by responsibilities? Although I wanted to ask, I knew Rex wouldn't reply to my question, just like Oswald and Wyatt.

I grabbed Rex's hand tightly. If he meant that things weren't simple, I can't help thinking of something. "My mom and dad..."

"Things aren't simple with them either. Filippa, the world isn't as peaceful as you think. Right now, all you need to do is learn how to increase your strength. With that, you don't need to worry about being a burden to someone else, and you'll be able to protect yourself." He explained sincerely.

"Hm. I…" I paused when I saw a rogue crouching next to the stream, its back turned to us.

"Shh." Rex placed a finger next to his lips to caution me to stop talking.

"That's a low-level rogue to practice with. Once you're losing, I'll extend my help." Rex whispered close to my ear.

"Go." Rex raised his chin and motioned for me to move forward to fight with the rogues before jumping into the tree to hide. All his actions were silent and didn't alert the rogue at all.

I nodded to Rex and slowly began to tiptoe toward the rogue.

Suddenly, the rogue turned her back toward me, her eyes bloodshot. She was a female rogue. Her eyes showed a malicious light, and she snarled as soon as she saw me.

The rogue charged straight at me, her claws elongating sharply. She saw me as a threat and wanted to finish me.

My eyes narrowed, paying full attention to my surroundings; it was the rogue and me alone in the vast, lush forest.

My hands morphed into claws, and I took a defensive stance.

The rogues jumped at me, trying to claw my face.

I dodged and gave the rogue a fierce kick in the stomach.

Contrary to my thought, the kick didn't stop the rogue—as if she were a puppet who didn't feel anything—instead, she raised her claw to sink into my shoulder.

I froze and panicked as the rogue got closer. I knew I had made a wrong calculation when I thought my kick would stop the rogue.

"Ridiculous." Rex yawned lazily.

Within a few seconds, he appeared in front of me and stopped the rogue by grabbing the rogue's neck.

With a snap, the rogue's neck was broken, and she became lifeless. Rex didn't bat an eye. It was as if he had just done a casual thing.

Rex's eyes turned cold as he turned to me.

"Look at you. You're on a field with an enemy, and you're panicking and holding back. Your life and death lie on a move; with that sinking of the claw, do you know how weak you'll be? You've been struggling with a low-level rogue for such a long time as if you were fighting with a friend? With such an act, it'll be easier to get killed before getting kicked out." Rex chided harshly.

I paused my lips and bowed my head shamefully, knowing he was right. I had overestimated myself; I thought dealing with power axis rogues would be as easy as dealing with the red flame pack, but I was damn wrong. What'll I do now? I only have a week.

"Yes master…"

"It's not time to joke about." Rex snapped at me harshly, his red eyes glinting with anger.

I jumped slightly due to shock, but I kept quiet and let him chide me for a few seconds, knowing better than to reply to a disappointed Rex.

Besides, I knew Rex was right. I'm failing the training already; how can I win in a week with such actions of mine? It's not as if I've had all the time to practice in the world. Gosh, I can't believe that I overestimated my strength.

"You dared to snap out?" Rex snapped and took a step toward me.

Subconsciously, I took a step back in fear. How can this person be so intimidating? Although Rex is serious, playful, and flirty, how can he be so strict at the same time?

In a blink of an eye, Rex disappeared with a scowl plastered on his face, and before I could process it, Rex appeared again, but this time it was different because he was holding a mid-level rogue.

"If you can't kill it, then don't think about leaving the forest," Rex growled at me and returned to the top of the tree, where he was resting.

I stared at Rex in shock. I had yet to fight a low-level rogue successfully; how could he throw a mid-level rogue? Does he even have a trace of pity? Compared to Rex, I think Asher is way nicer.

"Ouch." I hissed as the rogue swiped its claw at my arm.

"Stupid. Still dared to let your mind wander in between battles." Rex snorted at me and turned his back on me as if he didn't even want to see my disgracing fight.

I sighed and decided to put in my best. I'm inwardly grateful that Rex watches over me. If I had simply tried to do these things by myself, wouldn't I just waste my life?

I morphed into my wolf. Although the rogue was twice as big as my wolf form and the rogue was stronger, I knew this was the right way to protect myself.

I narrowed my eyes, my attention on it. The rogue raised his claw to swipe my stomach, but I threw my claw toward its eyes, opting to dig into the rogue's eyes.

Unfortunately, before I could do so, the rogue clawed my stomach and tore deep into my skin. Its action was extremely fast. I hissed, took a step backward, and bared my teeth at it.

However, it bravely stepped forward and gave me a disdainful glare, as if it were mocking me. I gritted my teeth, angered beyond words.

Without hesitation, I latched onto it and sank my teeth into its neck. The rogue raised his claw, and with a swipe of it, I was thrown off, and I fell to the floor.

Rex scoffed without turning back to me. He leisurely taunted me while laughing at me. "Fighting so shamefully is really annoying to watch. Where are the skills that made you the most outstanding student of the pack and a child genius?"
