Chapter 130: Chapter 130

After the trouble with Oswald, Rex also returned. All that Wyatt is shouldering for me. I knew no one could ever truly care for me as much as Wyatt does. It made my heart seep with warmth.

The lady rushed towards me and quickly held me in order to support me.

Without waiting for my acceptance or rejection, she helped me return to bed before letting me lie on the bed properly.

I massaged my brows and clutched the blanket, my heart speeding extremely fast. Why will Rex do such dangerous things? Why? Did he even care about himself? This is between Rex and me; Rex should have come to me; why is he involving innocent people in this? Why?

It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t let Rex down, none of this would’ve happened.

I rubbed my forehead, feeling a headache creeping in. I snapped out of it and stared at the lady solemnly.

"What's the situation? The casualties? Is Wyatt fine? What about the Hayes family and the pack members?” My hand flew to grab her gloved hand.

The anxiety and worry bubbling in me made me neglect the fact that I hated having skin contact with others.

The lady patted my hand twice and smiled at me as if to comfort me. "Beta Wyatt and the beta families are still holding on. However, if this goes on, the pack might be unable to.” The lady explained. She gnashed her teeth and clenched her fist immediately.

“Somehow the vampires had gone stronger than usual. We typically fought the vampires every month, so we were used to their strength, but this time, we discovered that the vampires had been hiding their strength from the beginning. And it seems they still had a lot of reinforcements left!” She explained, her eyes filled with horror at the remembrance.

My expression turned grim, and I attempted to stand up. No. No. I can’t keep watching. I have to do something. Everything is caused by me!

“Madam, please.” She gently yet firmly pushed me to lie down. She shook her head. “Madam, Beta Wyatt ordered that, under no condition, you leave the ward. He ordered me to convey this to madam.” The lady conveyed

My fist clenched slightly, but I knew Wyatt must have had a reason for leaving such an order.

I nodded my head and obediently lay back on the bed. “Where’s my phone?” If I wanted to know what was going on on the battle field, I knew checking the forum was one of the easiest ways to get the truth firsthand.

She bowed to me remorsefully. “The madam's phone is with beta Wyatt.” She said

My lips parted to give a response, but before I could, a maid dressed in a black and white gown knocked on the door before stepping into the ward with a lunch box in her hand.

The maid bowed to me politely, and I nodded in response before she turned to the lady in black. The maid handed her the lunchbox before stepping out of my ward and closing it.

The lady placed the lunchbox on the table and turned towards a section of the room.

Soon, she handed me a toothbrush and toothpaste and placed a bowl of warm water and an empty little basin next to me for my convenience.

I brushed my teeth and washed my face before the lady picked things up.

She walked towards the table and carefully opened the lunch box.

She carefully scooped the porridge into a small ceramic bowl and placed a spoon in it before making her way towards me. “Miss, your meal.”

I obediently nodded and collected the fragrance porridge from her. “Alright. Then give me an update on how it goes. Also, inform Wyatt I have woken up.” I conveyed and she nodded to me politely

I sat up straight and patiently began to eat. My brows furrowed immediately. Even though the porridge was fragrant, soft, and delicious, it still lacked compared to the meals Wyatt had always served me in the past.

Although I had no appetite, I still forced myself to eat half of the contents before telling the lady that I was full.

The lady pressed her lips unapprovingly as if to tell me that I had just woken up and needed to eat more.

Seeing my unmoving stance, she sighed, packed up, and gave me a bottle of water to drink before sitting next to my bed.

Feeling bored, I turned to the lady curiously. Since I woke up, she hasn’t introduced herself. “Your name, please.”

“I’m Fox, madam. A member of beta Wyatt elite guards.” She conveyed

I nodded my head. A sense of pride overwhelmed me at the thought of how powerful Wyatt was. He was powerful enough to make an invaluable car. He even has his elite guards.

I closed my eyes, feeling restless. My eyes were glued to the time; it was 13:05. The vampire tribe had been fighting with the werewolf tribe since six days ago; when does Rex plan to stop?

I tossed around with a heavy eyelid, but still, I found myself unable to sleep. Rather, I was filled with worries. I hope none of them are injured, even though I knew that wasn't possible. During the war, there’s nothing called acquaintance.

After five hours or something, my eyes began to close of their own accord, and I began to sink into sleep.

“Oswald, don’t even think about it.” The sudden growl from Wyatt jolted me awake from my reverie.

My eyes widened. Wyatt is here.

I exchanged glances with Fox and immediately got off the bed.

“We both know who he's here for. As long as she's there, the casualties will stop.” Oswald’s calm voice immediately responded.

My expression turned grim, understanding what Oswald and Wyatt were arguing about. We all knew that the reason Rex was currently attacking the power axis pack was me, and since Oswald doesn’t have me, he had no qualms about tossing me to Rex.

Although it’s a selfish decision by Oswald, the truth is that’s the only method that’ll work. It’s a surprise how Oswald didn’t take such measures from the beginning. Perhaps Wyatt stopped him.

Wyatt scowled, and Aiden roared coldly. “I won't give Maia away.” They declared solemnly. Even without seeing them, I could feel the fierce pressure emanating from them.

I immediately approached the door, choosing to interfere in the conversation.

Although Oswald is being a jerk, the truth is, I can’t bear the thought of more pack members getting hurt for me. And to stop such, I have to meet with Rex.

Fox shook her head as if to tell me not to go. My expression turned cold immediately.

“This isn't about what you want. This is about the future of the pack.” Oswald leisurely declared. It was as if he was taking joy in Wyatt’s sadness.

I stepped out of the ward, regardless of how Fox tried to stop me.

I was greeted with the sign of Wyatt’s elite guard blocking the entrance to my ward. I guess that’s the reason Oswald hasn’t entered the ward yet.

I scoffed, tucked a strand of silver hair behind my ear, and leaned back against the door. “You'll really do anything to send me away from Wyatt's side. But it's not enough, Oswald.” I disparaged and glared at Oswald coldly.

I turned to Wyatt and burrowed into his embrace. I exhaled in relief at the tingles that coursed through me. “Hubby, I miss you.”

Wyatt’s tense body relaxed immediately, and he placed a kiss on my forehead. “I miss you too.”

I grabbed Wyatt’s hand and stared into his eyes with a little smile. “Thank you, hubby. Please bring me to Rex.” I gently conveyed

Oswald’s expression turned cold at Wyatt and my interaction, but I didn’t bother to pay him a glance. He’s such a big scum who doesn’t deserve it.

“Maia,” Wyatt lowered his head and stared into my eyes with unhappiness in his eyes. He grabbed my waist tightly as if to reject my suggestion.

I smiled and burrowed into Wyatt’s embrace coquettishly. “Hubby, I know Rex the best. He won’t hurt me, and I won’t leave. Hubby, unblock me too.”

Wyatt knitted his brows slightly. After a few minutes, his expression softened, and he nodded seriously. “Hm.” He unblocked me and picked me up in a bridal-style

Without taking a glance at Oswald, Wyatt strode out of the hospital.

I wrapped my hands around Wyatt’s neck and sighed in pleasure.

Nothing is more beautiful than being in Wyatt’s embrace and listening to his powerful heartbeat. My eyes crinkled due to joy.

I raised my head and placed a kiss on his forehead. Wyatt’s lips curved up immediately.

Immediately, Wyatt switched from walking to running.

After 20 or more minutes, we finally arrived at the pack borders.

My lips parted in a gasp upon seeing the number of unconscious bodies and blood on the floor. The scenes were so overwhelming that I had the impulse to retch. Rex had gone too far!

A thick smell of blood invaded my nose, and I turned to Wyatt worriedly. “Wyatt is hurt also?”

Wyatt shook his head and raised his chin. I turned to the spot Wyatt was pointing at.

My eyes widened slightly, and I froze immediately.

Blood stained Rex’s white shirt and his face, giving him a devilish vibe. Currently, Rex held a werewolf member, and his dagger was raised towards the werewolf’s stomach.

Seeing Rex’s condition, I didn’t need someone to tell me that Rex had been triggered. Tears streamed past my eyes.

I jumped down from Wyatt's hold and hurried towards Rex. “Rex!” I yelled at the top of my voice.

Rex froze. Suddenly, Rex lifted his head to stare at me with dull and lifeless red eyes.

Without hesitation or thought, I ran towards Rex and hugged him tightly.

Rex’s dull eyes suddenly changed, and he stared at me. “Maia,” Rex called in a shaky whisper.

"Rex, it's enough already, okay? Didn't you want me? Then just kill me just to end it. These werewolf and vampire members are innocent; I won't let you hurt anyone for me." I cried out.

“Filippa.” Rex cried out with sadness in his eyes. Immediately, the person and the knife he held fell from his hands.

Rex extended his hands out to touch my face, but he quickly lowered it with a frown.

Without hesitation, I grabbed his blood-stained hand and used it to cup my face.

Rex rested his forehead against mine and cried out. ” Hurts. It hurts so much."

“I’m sorry.” I cried out and grabbed his clothes tightly. “I…”

Before I could complete my words, Rex parted from me and disappeared with his warriors.
